  • Pshhh.....Weak.... doubt you could power clean 170kg..... Or put 190kg over head for that matter.....

  • What does a squat-workout look like for you Ian ?

  • Ian's a beast, future olympic medalist hopefully!

  • best clean to best fs ratio?

  • @m1kekim I dunno about pros, but there's people like me who only FS like 10 pounds more than they can clean. Granted I'm nowhere near Ian, but I'm sure there's pros will a better ratio than this.

  • Wow nice man

  • Awsome 5 Front Squat!! and Awsome High 5!!

  • what is his max in bench press and dead lift?

  • @MrVilius707 who cares, when you can c&j 400+ pounds it doesnt really matter how much he bench's and deadlifts. which dont really matter in olympic. im not being a dick im jus sayin. haha

  • @9UnReaL0Dreams4 Your deadlift strength drives the strength of your pull from the floor (1st pull), and benching strength reinforces the entire shoulder girdle which (you will agree) is kinda necessary when jerking and snatching.

  • @jecnunez well, deadlifts could help the first pull, in very light moderation. by any means not heavy with high reps though. but most of the power in your first pull comes from your back and how tight you keep that, as well as the trajectory and steady angle of your back off the floor leading to the pull. Bench i would say does more harm to your shoulders than good. on jerks and snatch its mostly a muscle lock at the top of either the jerk or snatch. bench might help driving streght

  • @9UnReaL0Dreams4 as you jerk the bar. but for shoulders i would think more heavy 2 and 3 rep pulls from the floor. not a dead lift. and actual clean pull.

  • @9UnReaL0Dreams4 And there is nothing better for building back tightness on the first pull than heavy deadlifts, which you can't do high reps of, because it's heavy, right? The only way bench hurts shoulders is if the bar is kept in line with the gleno-humeral joint the entire rep, which you can fix by either keeping the bar over the bottom of the chest or benching in an arch, from the bottom of the chest to over the shoulders a tlockout.

  • @jecnunez a clean pull would be more appropriate than a deadlift. deadlift set up and working muscles are totally different from a clean

  • @shiznick2 Oh really? Tell me how two exercises that have you pull a bar off the floor use completely different musculatures.

  • @jecnunez deadlift set up if different. starting position is different. butt is lower when you pull from clean. why deadlift when you can clean pull? i bet ian clean pulls much more ofter than he deadlifts. bet money

  • @shiznick2 You deadlift instead of clean pulling because power is derived from strength. Someone who can deadlift 600lbs can clean more than a guy who can only deadlift 400. This much should be obvious. Also the only difference between starting position and set-up between the two lifts should be grip width. Dropping the hip on a clean just makes the shoulders get behind the bar and produce an inefficient bar path.

  • @shiznick2 I'm willing to accept your bet. How much we talking, 50? 100? 500?

  • what is your max BS?

  • well done!

  • What age did this kid begin training?

  • Awesome FS Ian, +5kg PR from the other week. Good job

  • height?

  • Nice milestone! congrats!

  • Clean that weight some day.

  • wow great lift

  • body weight?

  • @alex708 his bodyweight is 96kg.

  • @Chiefontheditty thanx
