P -> Q

If i seem upset ti's because of the way that the term "logic" is thrown around videos similar to these and i see no sign of it.
I just watched some other video - not yours - some guy trying to argue for why God is an atheist and there was nothing conclusive or logical about his babble...
But I always hear it...:"logical" "logical" "logical" "logical" "logical" "logical" "logical" "logical"
@PrinceWalter believing men who claim god speaks to them just because they happen to write it down ages ago isn't logical either. Let's be honest and not pretend you have even a passing acquaintance with reason.
The whole idea of "The Buy-Bull was added to" raises several questions.
How does the person who says this chapter or verse is wrong know that? what other parts are also wrong or added to that the person doesn't know? Could the entire Genesis story also have been an "add on" as well?
@dexarouskies Propaganda.Sant Paul and the apologists wanted to convert the Romans, who held the power those day, in the First and Second Centuries AD, to Christianity. As a result, they had to adapt some of the Roman habits, eliminate some hebrew habits quite annoying or strange to the Romans (circumcision, forbidding of pork, etc), and they also had to impress them by showing them miracles, amazing things... like this one: our God walked on Earth, died and resurrected.
Yes it is a parable, if Jesus Christ spoke those words to anyone but his Father in Heaven, then its a parable. With the character count available its pointless to try and explain, not that you'd understand it anyway. You have to know what serpents reprisent in scripture, you have to understand what it is Jesus meant when talking of drinking. Its a prophesy, and it has come to pass. Check out fraudulant heretics like Benny Hin and his ilk. Thats what these verses are talking about.
I have no interpretation of any scripture to offer you. It interprets itself. The explanation of these "serpents" is in the scriptures. The explanation of the "deadly drink" Christ is talking about is in the scriptures. Guess what, its not a snake or a drink containing fluid. You don't believe so this may be pointless, but if anyone offers any interpretation not in the scriptures, its a lie 100%.
Anyone can read the verses and a plain reading of the scriptures in the context is that these are miraculous signs that will follow true believers. If you want to make a metaphor out of speaking other tongues, healing, drinking any deadly thing, etc. that's your choice but it's certainly does NOT come from a plain reading of the text. You could take 100 random people and ask them what the text means and I bet all of them would agree with me.
So then how come this is so obvious to you it wasn't obvious to those that made the bible? Maybe you should've assembled the bible? What else did those that assembled it screw up?
The bible wasn't made by a group of people.. but if you look at the history of the books you see that some group of people tried to manipulate the Word of God for there own purpose... most likely: control.
It's just the choice if you want to use the oldest version (like some bibles have) or you don't (like other bibles have)...
Bottom line though what follows from your point is that the bible cannot be trusted. This whole conversation shows just one aspect of what a ridiculous notion it is to believe a god would communicate via written word.
And exactly which "translation" doesn't contain the last chapter of Mark? The wijnandmet translation? Maybe everyone should just refer to you for what god supposedly wants to tell us, heh.
And I don't have a translation because.. i can't read greak or hebrew.
But why are you so aggresive against this? I say that you need to get a right translation.. and you, in your mind, think that I mean my own translation and that I want to control other etc...
maybe it's better for you to become clearer in mind.. so we can talk on a normal/human way. :)
Are you listening to yourself? So we have to know greek or hebrew or whatever to have a hope of knowing what god might be telling us... and we have to be scholars at differences between various copies... the whole idea that god would communicate that way is absurd for precisely the points you bring up. Like the video says, I don't know what the answer to the questions I raise are, nobody does. But that they can be raised points out the whole basis of the bible is on sand.
seriously.. don't you understand what I am saying.. We don't have to know greek or hebrew for knowing.. but I don't know them so I can't make my OWN TRANSLATION....
The point is you're telling me various translations are wrong and I should listen to you. Meanwhile I'm just laughing because the whole thing is absurd. You're sitting there thinking god is talking to you from a book and really nobody even knows what the book is supposed to say let alone what god might be saying. Why do you believe people that wrote a book speak to god? Why do you believe people that assembled the various books in the bible got it right?
1. Every religion says you'll feel it's truth (and believers in the religions agree). So are all religions correct? Or rather is emotion a poor way to determine truth?
4. I'm exactly as worried that you might be right as you are worried that the thousands of other religions out there might be right. And I'm guessing you're not too worried about that.
Did you learn this in sunday school, or at Church prayer meetings?? Jesus Christ is in the business of blinding the masses, keeping the truth from them, deluding them, lest they be saved. God reveals to those He chooses, to the rest He blinds and deludes. Gods plan and intention is working perfectly, because the whole of Chistndom is totally blind (spiritually). Why argue with an athiest if you don't even understand your own faith? You're dead in the water before you start.
Ugh, Calvinist egotism attack alert. Yep you're super-special and we're not. Isn't that conveeeenient how only you can see truth and the rest of us are purposefully deluded by god? In my view such elitist crap is an indicator of what lousy human beings you are, not any indication what god is like. The rest of us can only assume if there is a god of creation that he's not as a big an ass as you guys think he is.
so?????? you are saying that we have to rely on the translations of other people who can read it....... That doesn't seem all that error proof..... yet again making the bible to the normal believer sort of useless to use to follow the word of god. So, MysteryBox is right. We need to be able to read those languages in order to follow the word of god. Otherwise we are just relying on other peoples translations.
and to be honest, i really believe alot of atheists would believe in God and it would be the religious ppl and leaders that would become sinners if there was a church that did these miraculous things. check it. it was the religious high priets that rose up and persecuted the apostles while the sinners became believers: ACTS 5:12-16. perhaps God isn't doin anything thru these religious ppl becuz they are too prideful to accept what their Bibles say!
Something is strange that's for sure. As you point out the environment of the bible is not what we observe today. The supernatural seems not to be apparent. Those that believed from biblical times would not believe today.
and with so many beliefs, we need something supernatural to distinguish the fakes from the real. "and by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the ppl...Then there came also a mutitude out of the cities round bout Jerusalem, bringin forth sick folks.. and they were healed EVERY one." Praise God for the Bible!!
hey bruh i think your right on. i've been askin d same questions for quite some time. hopefully i can soon talk with my pastor about this. i been asking around and all i get are random excuses. some say you need to pray alot more to seee these things, etc. but what about when Jesus did His signs and wonders? was Zacceus a praying and fasting man? i doubt it because many seen him as a sinner. a cheatful taxcollector. in fact it was the signs and wonder that Jesus did that got his attention
That part of Mark is not seen as a challenge to a believer. People put too much emphasis on the things that don't suit their program. The Spirit opens the eyes of believers. You have your beliefs and I have mine, but my opinion? If you wanna get bit by cobras, your a moron and should know thats not what God was saying. Christians need to realize that God also gave us common sense for a reason.
I'm pretty sure the signs spoken of in Mark Ch.16 were only for that time. Those things were only transitional things that took place until the Bible was completed. After the Scriptures were completed, these signs were no longer necessary, nor were any new revelations necessary. I could be wrong though. I don't have any Scripture to support this claim, I was just told this before.
As you say, there's nothing in the scripture to support that. People just say that because nobody can show those signs of being a believer. Nobody knows for sure why, but I have a good idea why... because it's all bunk.
Well, you are entitled to your beliefs, sir, but I'd just like to tell you that if you search the evidence, and study the Bible for yourself, all roads will lead to it being true. God has never let me down nor has His Word. His Word has not once been proven wrong and the things that it says have been proven right many times, sciencifically and prophetically.
The Truth(Jesus-John 14:6) will manifest Himself to you if you believe in Him with your whole heart and call upon Him. I know it is a big leap of faith, since I understand that you are an atheist/agnostic, but if you have faith in Him, the Bible teaches that God will reward those that diligently seek Him. :)
Of course if I believed something on faith then I'd believe it. That's a tautology, and that is how faith works. That's why anything can be thought to be true with faith. But I'm not interested in merely believing what I want to believe is true. I'm interested in what IS true--then I will believe that. So sorry that leaves out faith and it's fake way of making things "true".
That verse means that the signs will follow those who truly believe and do not try to preform miracles for themselves. Such people are extremely rare today since few follow the Bible for what it says and not what they want it to say. The deadly substances refers to poison or other stuff that is not drunk intentionally, that is suicide not an act of God.
Sorry but it says these are signs that follow believers and that's how we're to know believers. It's not a promise of protection, or a test of god, but a sign believers show. If you have a different take on the scripture fine, but I claim nobody can do those things and so far nobody has proved me wrong.
Mark 16:15-18 is an adnomition text, not a prophecy. And your comment about parables, again you misunderstand and misquote the scriptures. I suggest if you continue to post these videos you get an idea of what you are talking about. To find the parables of the bible, start at Gen 1 and read through to Rev 22. You'll find them on every single page, in every single verse.
Well, nice that I could brighten your day. But thats the truth. If you regard the Bible as a history book, a book of fiction or however it is you regard it, then put it in the bin and don't concern yourself with it............
......Because posting these videos about something you obviously have zero understanding of is making you look rather funny. Go read one of Dawkins story books, thats right, primary source, he was there right? He witnessed the whole thing right? LOL
I'm really becoming a big fan of your vids! I love how Christians seem to have to constantly make excuses and back peddle about different Bible quotes. "apostic age and a few disciples" That's hilarious! How do these people decide which parts of the are literal truth and which are parable, no longer valid in this age, only concerning the apostles, etc. If they applied this same ridiculous logic to anything else than religion, they'd be laughed at or be put in a mental institution.
Glad to know you are not brainwashed. The bible contradicts itself constantly. It has many errors and has been translated from one language back and forth by different people many times. If a book in this day and age had these characteristics nobody would publish it. Christians believe it is the word of god despite the facts because they are a brainwashed mess of people. Scared into believing so they avoid hell and zealous so they can get a free ride to heaven.
"The very need for a thing called "apologetics" is example of the weakness of the theistic argument. "God" always needs apologies. Rationalizations, explanations, equivocations, excuses. Science either works or falls flat on its face, gets up, and tries again. And does so until it *works."
You are not challenge "a book," you are challenging GOD'S WORD, which is challenging GOD. The koran is NOT God's Word. It is the book of a false prophet who has no signifance or authority over anyone except the naive who have fallen for it. Same goes for Joseph Smith's book of mormon.
Oh, thank you so much for explaining that. I never looked at it that way before. So everyone but Christians is wrong, because you say so! It all makes sense now. You're brilliant.
Hahahahah I find this funny. How you can say that people are stupid for falling for another god and how idiotic of them. They are saying the same thing about you. which is why Athiests laugh the most because they see how stupid you all are and we don't have to defend anything stupid because we don't believe in anything.
mystrybox i know i said im done posting bible passages however i think a few more of your videos require it for you to convert..i know you want to convert..i wont give up the fight! i hope u can at least begin dimly to see what im saying
You need to analyze the term "context." The "context" of the scripture when read implies, obviously, that this is limited to the apostlic age and a few disciples. You have to include to whom is being spoken, as well as all other aspects of "context." And when you challenge the inspiration of the Bible, advertise contradictions, and question its legitimacy in any way, you are challenging God.
When you study the Bible in order to understand the CONTEXT of the text, it is [sometimes] necessary to study each word and understand the meaning thereof and then piece it together to fully understand the passage. I have added nothing. I never have, and never will.
I hope the people who watch these ridiculous videos are smarter than you, which I would surely assume. If you do not believe in the Inspiration of the Bible, you wouldn't be TRYING TO PROVE IT WRONG! It is that simple. Why would you put forth effort to disprove that which disproves itself? Challenge yourself, not God.
There has never been anything added to the Inspired Word of God. It disturbs me that people actually believe that. The Catholic church added BOOKS to the Bible is the sixteenth or seventeenth century, but they were soon re-removed because the were not INSPIRED BY GOD. No bit of text was ever added to any Book of the Bible. It was completed and PERFECT loooooong ago.
Thank you. If you have a message for me just say it, that way it will be understood. We can observe that the 2000+ year old text you're quoting has led to hundreds of sects all believing something a bit different because it simply can't be understood clearly even by people that believe it. And that's making the big assumption there is actually something there to understand.
Jesus is not saying that everyone who believes will be able to cast out demons, speak in tongues, etc. This is simply a promise limited to the apostlic age and to a few of the disciples of that age. I suggest you start keeping verses in context yourself before recommending others to do the same. As assumed, "unbelievers" are not qualified Bible commentators.
I did read it in context and I see nothing in the scripture that say the signs are limited to the apostlic age nor to a few disciples. You might make that assumption if you want, but it's not there in scripture.
Then say it in plain English so you are understood. And please don't spam all my videos with random bible quotes. If YOU have something to say then fine, but random bible quotes are not discussion.
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and (A)believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and (B)does not come into judgment, but has (C)passed out of death into life
When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the trees, act decisively. For at that moment the Lord is going before you to strike down the army 1 of the Philistines."
When you speak "Christianese" to a non-Christian you sound like a nut-job. Seriously. Just talk like a normal person if you want to have a hope of communicating.
I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
It sure is quiet in here. Nobody is even attempting to refute you. Even if I was a Xtian (I am not) I would not know what to say in response to this. Well done.
Non-believers see no evidence of answered prayer & miracles. The believer argues - it isn't in gods' will, or you have to have faith & believe. It's the old, yes/no/wait & see answer. Praying to a tea cup would provide same results, in fact try it.
Haven't seen any amputees healed, poison not causing sickness or death, or mountains moved. Even believers don't have evidence of such signs & wonders?
Cheers, uh oh now you'll have hardcase, and dayfallkat trying to own you, I guess since it's lent I'll give up beer, and wine, and stick to the hard stuff. lol

Mat 12:28 But IF I cast out devils by the Spirit of God (P), THEN the kingdom of God is come unto you. (Q)
Mat 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you (~Q)

There are some text that exists in just a couple (latest) scriptures-copy's..
So what we need to do that is take the first couple (oldest) scripturs-writings..

But I'm not interested in merely believing what I want to believe is true. I'm interested in what IS true--then I will believe that. So sorry that leaves out faith and it's fake way of making things "true".
MystryBox 4 years ago
That verse means that the signs will follow those who truly believe and do not try to preform miracles for themselves. Such people are extremely rare today since few follow the Bible for what it says and not what they want it to say. The deadly substances refers to poison or other stuff that is not drunk intentionally, that is suicide not an act of God.
chrightmer 4 years ago
Sorry but it says these are signs that follow believers and that's how we're to know believers. It's not a promise of protection, or a test of god, but a sign believers show. If you have a different take on the scripture fine, but I claim nobody can do those things and so far nobody has proved me wrong.

Even more astonishing lack of understanding.

You're funny.
MystryBox 4 years ago
Well, nice that I could brighten your day. But thats the truth. If you regard the Bible as a history book, a book of fiction or however it is you regard it, then put it in the bin and don't concern yourself with it............
dingle1 4 years ago
......Because posting these videos about something you obviously have zero understanding of is making you look rather funny.

Very true.

It should be clear from my videos that I don't believe in any gods.

Same goes for Joseph Smith's book of mormon.
boomshakalaka90 4 years ago
Maybe you should go explain it to the Muslims and the Mormons. They don't believe you either.
MystryBox 4 years ago
Oh, thank you so much for explaining that. I never looked at it that way before. So everyone but Christians is wrong, because you say so! It all makes sense now. You're brilliant.
elmosfire1212 4 years ago
That is what God says...so I believe it.
boomshakalaka90 4 years ago
Wow, good argument...Not circular at all...
>_>
urinferior1212 4 years ago
Hahahahah I find this funny. How you can say that people are stupid for falling for another god and how idiotic of them. They are saying the same thing about you. which is why Athiests laugh the most because they see how stupid you all are and we don't have to defend anything stupid because we don't believe in anything.

I see what you're saying. I used to be Christian and I'm quite aware of what you're saying. I just don't believe them.

You need to analyze the term "context." The "context" of the scripture when read implies, obviously, that this is limited to the apostlic age and a few disciples. You have to include to whom is being spoken, as well as all other aspects of "context." And when you challenge the inspiration of the Bible, advertise contradictions, and question its legitimacy in any way, you are challenging God.
boomshakalaka90 4 years ago
By your description of "context" there would be almost nothing in the bible that applies to anyone today.
The fact is you've added something to the bible that isn't there, and I think there is some pretty bad punishment for that in Revelation isn't there?
And no, challenging a book is not challenging god, or else you are challenging god by not believing in the Koran.
MystryBox 4 years ago
When you study the Bible in order to understand the CONTEXT of the text, it is [sometimes] necessary to study each word and understand the meaning thereof and then piece it together to fully understand the passage. I have added nothing. I never have, and never will.
boomshakalaka90 4 years ago
I hope the people who watch these ridiculous videos are smarter than you, which I would surely assume. If you do not believe in the Inspiration of the Bible, you wouldn't be TRYING TO PROVE IT WRONG! It is that simple. Why would you put forth effort to disprove that which disproves itself? Challenge yourself, not God.
boomshakalaka90 4 years ago
I'm not challenging god. I'm challenging some men's claims about god. How would you even challenge god?
MystryBox 4 years ago
There has never been anything added to the Inspired Word of God. It disturbs me that people actually believe that. The Catholic church added BOOKS to the Bible is the sixteenth or seventeenth century, but they were soon re-removed because the were not INSPIRED BY GOD. No bit of text was ever added to any Book of the Bible. It was completed and PERFECT loooooong ago.
boomshakalaka90 4 years ago
"No bit of text was ever added to any Book of the Bible. It was completed and PERFECT loooooong ago."
And you are the most ignorant of them all if you actually believe this.
Foolishdestruction 3 years ago 4
okay but their not random
theirs a message in them if you would just read them
anyway no more spam for you
S0n0fMan 4 years ago
Thank you. If you have a message for me just say it, that way it will be understood. We can observe that the 2000+ year old text you're quoting has led to hundreds of sects all believing something a bit different because it simply can't be understood clearly even by people that believe it. And that's making the big assumption there is actually something there to understand.
MystryBox 4 years ago
Jesus is not saying that everyone who believes will be able to cast out demons, speak in tongues, etc. This is simply a promise limited to the apostlic age and to a few of the disciples of that age. I suggest you start keeping verses in context yourself before recommending others to do the same. As assumed, "unbelievers" are not qualified Bible commentators.
boomshakalaka90 4 years ago
I did read it in context and I see nothing in the scripture that say the signs are limited to the apostlic age nor to a few disciples. You might make that assumption if you want, but it's not there in scripture.
MystryBox 4 years ago
you think im doing this for my health? i love you all
S0n0fMan 4 years ago
Then say it in plain English so you are understood. And please don't spam all my videos with random bible quotes. If YOU have something to say then fine, but random bible quotes are not discussion.

When you speak "Christianese" to a non-Christian you sound like a nut-job. Seriously. Just talk like a normal person if you want to have a hope of communicating.
MystryBox 4 years ago
I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

Unless you first convince me of the authority of the bible, you might as well be quoting Mother Goose at me.
