I have been a Christian for 36 years and I have heard much doctrine taught. Sometimes I trusted people who were teaching me because I thought they could be trusted. They would do what you often do. They would take a single verse of Scripture and build an understanding out of it that didn't fit the rest of what was there. They would find other sentences that seemed to support what they were saying. The numbering of verses in the Bible was done for convenience...
You can take several statements from any document and quote mine them declaring that the reasoning behind the statement meant something that doesn't fit. A good example is this one on sin. Most sinners use Romans 7 to suggest that Paul is saying that he daily struggles with sin. But if you compare that to Romans 6 and 8, there is no way you can walk away with that understanding.
1 John 3 says, "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God."
You have to look at the whole picture to see what it's saying. Does this verse mean that a Christian loses his salvation if he slips up? No. 1 John 1:8 tells us we have an advocate.

Predestination is the most misunderstood concept in all of Christianity. God foresees the end from the beginning. He knows who will receive Him and why or why not. It is not His will that ANY should perish. You said that yourself. He elects based on our response to Him. Those who continue to sin do not know Him and He will tell them to depart.
There is a huge difference between foreknowledge and fore-will. I am predestined because God knew how I would respond. God is no respecter of persons.

The Bible tells you who will get into heaven. If you would read it as a unit, you would see it for yourself. In a sense, the Bible is like science. You can't take one fact out of the natural world and reject everything else to build a theory. Those types of theories are broken down quickly because of that very fact. Revelations speaks of the smoke of their torment going up forever and ever. Just because one word was used to speak of hell that referred to something else, does not mean it is not a real place. For example, Jesus said to cut off your hand or pluck out your eye to avoid hell. Why make such a strong analogy over something so trivial?

You are mistaken again. Pharisees were putting on a good show for people as though their outward appearance and standards made them holy. This would include the things they ate, associations, their clothing and prayer tassels, their long public prayers and sitting in the seat of honor. But they weren't led of the Spirit in any of that. It was all about them and their pride had become so ugly, that God resisted them. Jesus said to the adulteress, "Go and sin NO MORE." I think He meant it.
Because the parameters of this universe allow for freewill choice, there is always the possibility that man will do that which is unnatural and sin. God has designed this world to be a certain way. He has even built into it deterrents to keep man from straying from the path of His will. He effects the world through nature and authority so that His will is done while at the same time, giving man the ability to choose Him or not. The only way to come to Him in this universe is by faith.
But no, God's will is not always done on this earth. It is our prayer that His will would be done here on earth as it is in heaven.

God saves those who believe and turn from their sin. He calls everyone. He wants everyone to be saved. It is His will for everyone to be saved. But not everyone will be saved. Some people resist the drawing of the Holy Spirit. Steven said, "Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye." That wasn't very "loving," Steven. Isn't that what you would say to him. You're not doing it right.
If you look up that word "especially" in the Greek, it is a word that means chiefly or most of all. That is the thing about little sentences like this. You could take this out and suggest that what Paul means is that everyone is getting saved no matter what. But when you compare that assertion to 1 Cor. 6:9-11 and Galatians 5, you can't come away with the same idea. It doesn't fit. Note also what it says in in vs. 1 implying that people depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits.
"I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." So then it DOES NOT depend on the MAN who WILLS or the man who runs, but on GOD who has mercy!!

Romans 1 before that, tells us that God manifests Himself to every man. God's mercy is extended when the parameters He set are met. Because He sets those things, He acts according to His Word. Exodus 20 gives one where He extends mercy to those who love Him and keep His commandments. You are in error if you think that God is shooting a mercy gun into the air arbitrarily. His grace is given to the humble. He resists the proud. He will keep such a person from hearing or seeing.

But it would never include fearing God. When Isaiah and John met God and reported it back to us, they did not express an experience of love. They were afraid.

We probably agree on most things considered love such as giving to someone in need, not hurting someone's feelings who is hurting or in pain already and not because of something they did, but because they are suffering for doing right. Job's friends had no discernment toward his suffering, for example. We need to be led of the Spirit in everything because not every hurt or hardship is caused by the same thing. There are people who are suffering because of their own sin.
You are trying to say that homosex is the same as fear as explained in Revelations. I am trying to tell you that there is a Godly fear toward God. There are times when being merciful is imperative. But not where it involves sexual sin.

You have to read these things in total to understand what Paul et al are communicating. You can't just pick a verse and try to build a thought from that. I have been a Christian for 36 years and I have heard much doctrine taught. Sometimes I trusted people who were teaching me because I thought they could be trusted. They would do what you often do. They would take a single verse of Scripture and build an understanding out of it that didn't fit the rest of what was there. They would find other sentences that seemed to support what they were saying. The numbering of verses in the Bible was done for convenience...

You can take several statements from any document and quote mine them declaring that the reasoning behind the statement meant something that doesn't fit. A good example is this one on sin. Most sinners use Romans 7 to suggest that Paul is saying that he daily struggles with sin. But if you compare that to Romans 6 and 8, there is no way you can walk away with that understanding.

You have to look at the whole picture to see what it's saying. Does this verse mean that a Christian loses his salvation if he slips up? No. 1 John 1:8 tells us we have an advocate.

If someone came along one day 2000 years from now and had no idea of English syntax or connotations of words and their definitions, they might read a statement like this, "She played the piano" and assume that the writer meant that the girl was using the piano like a toy based on one of the definitions. That is why we have dictionaries because often words do not mean the exact same thing that they mean in a different context. I don't believe you have ever even touched a Greek lexicon.

Predestination is the most misunderstood concept in all of Christianity. God foresees the end from the beginning. He knows who will receive Him and why or why not. It is not His will that ANY should perish. You said that yourself. He elects based on our response to Him. Those who continue to sin do not know Him and He will tell them to depart.
There is a huge difference between foreknowledge and fore-will. I am predestined because God knew how I would respond. God is no respecter of persons.

This is the will of God: that men repent and come to Him. It is also His will that all men have the right and ability to choose. God doesn't make people do things. If they receive Him, He THEN gives them power to become the sons of God - not before. Faith comes first, then grace. Not vice versa. Can a sovereign God have power to control His own power to allow for freewill choice? It is crystal clear in Scripture that some men do not choose Him. Others do. It isn't enough to believe. Faith without works is dead faith.

On this earth, it is obvious that God's will is NOT always done. You really need to rethink that thinking. Yes, it is His will that all will be saved. But all do not repent and do His will and so not all will be saved.
Take Josef Fritzl who held his daughter underground for 24 years using her as his sex toy for all those years and fathering 7 children by her. One died. He burned that one in the furnace downstairs. Was that God's will? Of course not. How absurd!

The Bible tells you who will get into heaven. If you would read it as a unit, you would see it for yourself. In a sense, the Bible is like science. You can't take one fact out of the natural world and reject everything else to build a theory. Those types of theories are broken down quickly because of that very fact. Similarly, you can't take one sentence out of Scripture and try to make it fit some perverted view of God. What you surmise is being said HAS to fit the rest of what's there.

Revelations speaks of the smoke of their torment going up forever and ever. Just because one word was used to speak of hell that referred to something else, does not mean it is not a real place. For example, Jesus said to cut off your hand or pluck out your eye to avoid hell. Why make such a strong analogy over something so trivial?

Yes, but God makes clear what that darkness is in Romans 1-2, Gal 5, 2 Tim 3, Rev 2-3, 22-23 to name a few. It isn't some arbitrary thing. It is loving your sin. You have to stop sinning. You are condemned already if you love darkness more than light. All I can do is warn you of that. Repentance is the message. Without genuine Spirit led holiness, you aren't getting in.

You are mistaken again. Pharisees were putting on a good show for people as though their outward appearance and standards made them holy. This would include the things they ate, associations, their clothing and prayer tassels, their long public prayers and sitting in the seat of honor. But they weren't led of the Spirit in any of that. It was all about them and their pride had become so ugly, that God resisted them. Jesus said to the adulteress, "Go and sin NO MORE." I think He meant it.

God saves those who believe and turn from their sin. He calls everyone. He wants everyone to be saved. It is His will for everyone to be saved. But not everyone will be saved. Some people resist the drawing of the Holy Spirit. Steven said, "Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye." That wasn't very "loving," Steven. Isn't that what you would say to him. You're not doing it right.

If you look up that word "especially" in the Greek, it is a word that means chiefly or most of all. That is the thing about little sentences like this. You could take this out and suggest that what Paul means is that everyone is getting saved no matter what. But when you compare that assertion to 1 Cor. 6:9-11 and Galatians 5, you can't come away with the same idea. It doesn't fit. Note also what it says in in vs. 1 implying that people depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits.

Man has NO CHOICE to make! "I (God) choose you, you do NOT choose me (God)!
It is all up to God as to who he chooses NOW and who he chooses in the next Age (Or Aion).
God leaves NOTHING up to chance!!
Jesus is the GOOD Shepard and will NOT loose even ONE of his sheep!!

Romans 1 before that, tells us that God manifests Himself to every man. God's mercy is extended when the parameters He set are met. Because He sets those things, He acts according to His Word. Exodus 20 gives one where He extends mercy to those who love Him and keep His commandments. You are in error if you think that God is shooting a mercy gun into the air arbitrarily. His grace is given to the humble. He resists the proud. He will keep such a person from hearing or seeing.

Let's see. You are in bondage to sexual sin, it would seem. I have been set free from sin and have a good conscience toward God. Hmmmmm. The Bible is only filled with error to those who want to justify and rationalize their sin. Stop sinning! Be reconciled to God. FYI, the original language helps at times to understand the text, but in my experience, that only deepens my understanding of God's heart on sin and His love and mercy extended in the cross. Repent or perish.

And Even "IF" I came to the firm belief that God says it is WRONG, that does NOT mean that it is any worse than ANY OTHER SIN that heterosexual men commit!!!!
God lets us know 100%, that if we miss the Mark (Which we ALL DO!), we have fallen short of his perfection and are ALL guilty.
Since this is true, ONE SIN is no WORSE than ANY other sin, that men commit!!!
Gay people have EVERY RIGHT to worship God in the way THEY see fit. They are human just like the rest of us,..no better or worse!

You are misapplying a part of salvation, which is regeneration and applying it to the choice we make. To as many as RECEIVED Him, to THEM gave He power to become the sons of God, even to those who BELIEVE on His name. Salvation is not just a free ticket into heaven because you believe. The demons believe. Salvation is to be pardoned and set free from sin. That is why Jesus called men to repent. But of course, yes, He is the one that reaches out to us first. We must respond.

I have given you scripture to TRY to show you how you are Hugely mistaken, but you fail to see the crisp, clean Logic of God's Word.
You tell people that "They" have to RECEIVE Christ, but God's Word tell us all that we CANNOT receive him unless HE (GOD) CHOOSES US!
Man is COMPLETELY unable to turn from sin or to make a choice FOR GOD!
But you do NOT want to believe the Word of God, you would rather follow the traditions of Men!

Just let me state, that I have been doing MUCH in depth research on homosexuality in the Word of God for the past year or so and I STILL have NOT come to any FIRM conclusion.
I am speaking of looking to the ORIGINAL LANGUAGE and TRYING to understand what it is saying.
So for someone to read JUST THE ENGLISH and say God says homosexuality is wrong,..is just absurd.
Although I feel it MAY be wrong, I cannot come to any fast conclusion of what GOD says about it.
Not yet anyway!!

I think Paul was much more "judgmental" in Acts 13:6-12 Oh and please note the sign and wonder that got the proconsul to believe. Then there is Ananias and Sapphira. You can almost understand the judgment of Ananias but what about Sapphira? Why didn't anyone warn her?
You do not love these people. You coddle them in their sin because you want so desperately to believe that God is letting all sinners into heaven. Are you gay? Is that why? Be assured, God is Love and He is also a Judge.

The LOVE I speak of (Most of the time) is AGAPE love.
It is love for my fellow man. And I TRULY DO love my fellow man. Not because I am Great (Far from it!!), but because God has given me hardship and adversity so as to understanding and know how hard life can be!
Please clarify, as to WHOM I am Judging.
I THINK you may be talking of someone who is JUDGING another because of their sexual preference.

Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, this cannot be what Revelations is speaking about. It is talking about fearing to do God's will. God tells you to do something, but you are afraid of what people will think. You fear the future, so you do nothing. You fear the lack of money, so you never give. Stuff like that. But it would never include fearing God. When Isaiah and John met God and reported it back to us, they did not express an experience of love. They were afraid.

Sure. See Isaiah 6 where Isaiah reports, "Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts." The whole place is shaking and smoking and the angels are crying out, "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!!"
Revelations 1:17a says, "And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead." Same reaction.
These men were not overcome with love, but fear. Jesus said, "Fear not." He showed John mercy.

The only way you can walk away from your "study" and conclude that God is easy on sinners because everyone sins and so God HAS to let sinners into heaven who willfully sin is by twisting the Word of God. You don't think that we have studied the original language? We have. Both Romans 1 and 1 Cor. 6:9-11 make it clear that God is not letting sinners in. We are supposed to be transformed to the image of His Son. You are under a delusion that this is impossible. That is satan talking, not God.

We probably agree on most things considered love such as giving to someone in need, not hurting someone's feelings who is hurting or in pain already and not because of something they did, but because they are suffering for doing right. Job's friends had no discernment toward his suffering, for example. We need to be led of the Spirit in everything because not every hurt or hardship is caused by the same thing. There are people who are suffering because of their own sin.

You are trying to say that homosex is the same as fear as explained in Revelations. I am trying to tell you that there is a Godly fear toward God. I think Jesus explained that best here, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
There are times when being merciful is imperative. But not where it involves sexual sin.

God ordained sex in one place and one place only - the union of one man and one woman coming together as one flesh in an unbreakable covenant of marriage. All other sex is condemned by God to hell's fire if you do not repent and turn from your sin. The implication of 1 Cor. 5 and 6 is that men can be purified from sin and if not, we are not supposed to even eat with a brother who is engaging in sexual sin.
The men who met God in person and reported back to us experienced trembling fear.

Oh boy. You are one of those. I have had children who have sinned grievously and I have never glossed over it or take a position of tolerance toward their sin. Homosex would be included, fornication, adultery, you name it, God hates it and so do I. Why? Because I have the mind of Christ. I gave you a Scripture on hell. You gave me nothing again but your opinion, which I must point out, counts for nothing. Dick Cheney's experience is irrelevant to God's Word.

You have to read these things in total to understand what Paul et al are communicating. You can't just pick a verse and try to build a thought from that. You have to compare what you think he's saying to the rest of what's there. A great thing to do is to take your premise and read the whole NT keeping a few questions in mind. Hebrews 10 has a lot to say about willful sin. It clearly states there is no longer a sacrifice for sin because you are trampling on the Son of God.

I was where you are now, only three or so years ago!!! And then the LIGHT of GOD beamed into my brain and my heart and my soul, and I became a "NEW CREATURE", I was NO LONGER the vindictive, pride filled Christian that I once was!
I was TRULY born again,..born again to a whole NEW world. I did not JUDGE my brother any longer. I saw that sin was sin and that I was the same as ANYONE!!

True, but the message is not that you continue to sin and be forgiven daily. Even under the Law men and women walked uprightly. Luke 6:1 Their hearts were not pure. Jesus gave us the ability to be pure in heart by the power of His Spirit - by grace through faith. It is grace that does what you say in Phil 2:13. He gives us the ability to walk uprightly with Him so that our flesh is no longer the driving force of our lives. We can be free of the enslavement of sin and so can you.See Romans 1-8
