This song has what I call white emotion. It's not emulating black Soul, RnB or even reggae. It has a ton of emotion I can feel but the delivery is definitely white .It came out when I was 15 and experienced being cheated on for the first time.

the thing I really respect about joe jackson is that he made his name with these guys - then he went solo, made it big, became an establishment musician, wrote film scores and did concept albums with classical musician and whatever... then 35 years later or whatever it is he comes back to the UK and goes back out on tour with this original line up. You are not alone when it comes to not knowing about cover songs, not just this one, but cover songs in general. I don't know how old you are, I'm 38, and growing up when you bought a record or a CD you read the notes, we wanted to know who in the band wrote the lyrics for which song. It might be outdated, especially due to not that many true Rock bands around these days, but you knew what was what.
