alcohol definitely is not the most dangerous. Its use can be controlled and are controlled by people all the time. I go a whole month without drinking. Let me hit some crack and I am going to want some more and more and more.
Thumbs down for the completely untrue statement about drug and alcohol highs = starving the brain of oxygen. Considering that howler is in the first few minutes, I won't bother thanks.
this is bullshit. the taliban TAXED the opium trade. they never abolished it. some local sectors burned fields (they were warlords and could do whatever they wanted) but most TAXED it for funds. Support your local police and government officials by purchasing illegal drugs
The difference between alcohol and other substances are the deterioration of the body. Alcohol mainly destroys the lever, chemical drugs like MDMA, cocaine and heroin (etc.) attack the brain among other organs. And the addiction and tolerance rate is much faster with chemical substances than with alcohol.
Lets get this shit right. Information is power, wrong information is BS. First off Coca leaves are not processed into Heroin. How can you expect anyone to take you seriously if you can't get your info right! Also lets stop being ignorant to the fact that there is an ocean of difference between weed and heroin. Weed is not a gateway drug! On the other hand Oxycontin, is...oh and its legal! Yes alcohol and tobacco are problematic but compare the average tobacco addict to a heroin addict...
Salo73 good points the war on drugs is an industry in and of itself. It can be very sad to see a family member or friend do the slow self destruct on booze or drugs. But as you say we are a free nation some chose to masturbate their minds on television, some booze and drugs, some eat themselves to death, some sex addict until they get aids or some other SUD , many choose their poison to adjust to civilization.
Good points Cosmo1pug but wars on drugs have not worked.
And new transport pipelines are being forged from a few evil business men and military. We are saturating this country of Afghanistan with Americans a few will get into this trade. And with the poppy production in Afghanistan increasing exponentially untold riches are waiting to be harvested.
The government is losing a hell of an income source by not taxing incoming drugs. The war on drugs is a long term total failure. But Holly Wood makes great movies about drug profits.
I'm so looking forward to the anarchy your type will bring to this world. You dips will continue to say "LEGALIZE IT" LOL .... You make arguements like tax and non addicting. Here is the bottom line in one sentence (though it is doughtfull you will not understand it) Ready? Once you give a population a privilage ie tobacco or alcohol, IT IS EXTREMLY DIFFICULT TO TAKE AWAY. So if legal drugs become a problem there is no way to make them illegal again. The prohibition will be my presidence
jail does nothing for addicts, it only gives them more reasons to use when they leave lock up and return to nothing... treatment in those cases would be the solution but instead prisons are full and drug related crimes continue
its hard to say what drug is the worst, im not sure if you can, i think it depends on the person using, its seems that most drugs are talked up to be worse then they are, if there were more push for helping people with addiction instead of putting them in jail i think we would see less addiction and crime
heroin is worse then alcohol the number of alcohol related deaths corresponds to the large number of people who use alcohol, less people use the more harmful drugs because people see heroin will fuckin kill you
true but alcohol is readily available and passed off as a cultural norm... people drink their entire lives and this causes huge problems... more people die from tobacco and alcohol every year than any other substance
The single most dangerous substance [drug] in the world is alcohol--and, yet, it has one of the largest, most influential lobbies in the House and Senate. The drug of choice? Alcohol. Its prohibition is long since dead. Why not do the same with every other drug on the black market? From heroin to crack; tax the sale and distribution to dope to people over the age of consent, erase the national debt, free up prisons for real (violent) criminals, and allow law enforcement to do its job.
If you legalise it the use will proliferate and it will affect every facet of business , from absence to performance to disfunctional behavior from bus drivers to corporate stock investors to politicians and then you will see the utter devastation to business and family . Its already bad enough .
Then you wont go to prison for use or posession but the crime and consequences as a result of its use and your money going up in smoke . The jails will be fuller .Broken family , lost job and house.
@ClarkieDude UM, NO...Tobacco is WAY more deadly worldwide (10x or more) than alcohol and FAR more addictive. You cant get booze in muslim countries, but you can get cigarettes.
@ClarkieDude Understandable, but you need to do your research. I'm not arguing against legalization of drugs BUT visit a family who's been affected by LSD, cocaine or even worse, crystal meth then post. If you think this issue can be resolved by simply by legalizing it, the only people agreeing with you will always be those with as much knowledge (or lack thereof) as you. Your point of view MIGHT be accurate for 1 or 2 drugs, but for most it's a completely irresponsible and dismissive.
@Pimpjit85 Not really, the thing is people are going to use drugs anyway regardless of whether they are legal or not. At least if they are legal we eliminate the need for drug cartels and in turn we can prevent gross human rights abuses. Instead of spending all that money on law enforcement to lock up people who at most are only harming themselves we should be spending it on educating people instead and then giving them the freedom to choose how they treat their bodies.
@nickyaz111 Prevent gross human rights abuses? Only harming themselves? You have a lot to learn. And if you really think criminalization of drugs hinder ones freedom of how they want to "treat" their bodies you must be high.
@Pimpjit85 You simply resort to rhetoric and slander. I can back up what I say with sound logic and scientifc evidence. Tell me how a person who smokes marijuana is harming somebody besides themselves directly. Even in extreme cases such as heroin addiction, the heroin addict again is only physically harming themselves, if the addict is to commit crimes such as theft to fund his addiction, this is a question of their morality and not a direct consequence of the abuse of an arbitrary substance.
@nickyaz111 Um, where was the logic and scientific evidence? Crime, incarceration, drug addiction treatment costs, medical costs from overdose or general psychological/physiological complications, drug related injuries, time lost from work, social welfare programs etc etc etc.
Get a grip dude. I'm a realist, Marijuana is a tough debate. But if you're "logic" leads you to believe people commit crimes, use any money earned for drugs but drugs aren't the driving/direct cause, your delusional.
@nickyaz111 I commend you for trying to be informed but you'll have a tough time finding anyone to agree with you. Drug's severely affect all of society, youtube isn't the forum to help you understand why but I suggest you do the research. In 2008, 24000 ppl in Chicago alone were admitted due to Heroin. Who do you think pays for treatment? And keep in mind, the millions spent on publicly funded treatment programs is just a small piece of the pie in chicago, let alone the country or entire globe.
@Pimpjit85 You believe legality influences use? Look at the facts.
"The figures for cannabis use among the general population reveal the same pictures. The Netherlands does not differ greatly from other European countries. What's your point? MJ is not like cocaine, friend. You wanna talk history of legalizing drugs, cuz in foreign nations it NOT been successful. Opium was legalized in China earlier this century. @Pimpjit85 I agree that drugs cause problems, but people are going to use them irrespective of our current enforcement, this is why I advocate legality and regulation. Our current system causes MORE problems (drug cartels, taliban profiting off opium cultivation etc). We need to approach the problem differently, through a fucking bucket load of education, we need to reduce the demand for drugs, reducing the supply to a point where demand will significantly decline is far too problematic.
@nickyaz111 You mention 'facts' but then group a drug like MJ with all other drugs. That's irresponsible, dismissive and lazy. Egypt allowed unrestricted trade of cocaine and heroin in 1920s, a damn epidemic of addiction resulted. This is because property crime has doubled & studies show 80% of arrests are drug addicts

It is NOT your "civil right" to do what is wrong or harmful to yourself, your family, or your society.
