I'm a cellist and we don't really get melodies either. So whenever the violins practice the"most important" part (aka the violin part) in orchestra and the low strings are just waiting, me and my friend who's a viola player put are fingers at the bottom of our A strings and start quietly plucking or bowing and it makes this funny high pitched noise. A couple violinists glare at us but no one else notices. It's really entertaining

The violins always get all the main parts and us violas are always left behind with the background parts...It's really hard to look for sheet music that's about a good song and that's a viola part. Whenever you look for sheet music, you find tons and tons of violin music but not viola, never viola...US VIOLAS SHALL RULE THE WORLD!!!!

@higunz315 to be completely honest, who cares what clef the viola part is written in. If this arrangement was done for a competent ensemble, then the violists should easily be able to read treble clef. Really, it is stupid that violas even need a different clef. They are just being awkward and the most useful thing a violist can do is to learn to read proper music. Otherwise, they should be regarded as dyslexic musicians...

Hey, I like this... it's got a nice balance to all the instrumentation, and the parts that have double-stops are divisi.... dafridgemagnet's comments are one of an ignoramus...whenever there are 2 or 3 or more notes written in one instrument line, it's automatically divisi... of course, if you've never seen an orchestral score you might not know that. LOL.

I don't like it. If I was one of you violinist or cellists, i would KILL YOU for the double stopping. Especially the 3rds. Unless you intended for divisi in which case you can ignore this comment. Other than then, stick the Viola into the approprate clef, otherwise they have to perform transposition in their head, which is extraordinarily difficult.

Viola music is actually written in alto, not tenor. I Always thought it was tenor until I switched from violin to viola and actually looked at the clef sign.

I learned that when I first did a string score on Sibelius.

It's easier in the composers mind sometimes to stuck to treble and bass and its easy on a computer to transpose the key again. =)

While the alto clef is much easier for violists to read, violists can also read treble clef.

Whoever arranged this probably feels more comfortable in treble clef, and just decided to make it all in treble clef.

thats right but the two bumps are 2 Cs stacked on top of eachother to show you where C is in the clef, same for Bass Clef with the 2 dots on F and treble which is essentially a Giant G encercling the G line
