  • Flores certainly loves his bant charms (probably for good reason).

  • Tribal Flames looks for basic land TYPES not basic lands. So, Temple Garden has two basic land types (Forest and Plains) even if it's not a basic land.

  • so this deck doesn't run watchwolf or wooly thoctar?

  • Watchwolf has been a part of the Zoo strategy in the past, and Woolly Thoctar may be in the future, but recently with the release of such cards as Wild Nacatl, it simply is not efficient enough to warrant a slot. At the 2 mana slot most Zoo decks want either a very efficient creature (Tarmogoyf), removal/burn (Lightning Helix, Tribal Flames), or a utility creature (Tidehollow Sculler).

  • you are horribly mistaken. Taphael Levy leveraged Tribal Flames with Rav Lands in two PTQs and won em both. Note the rav land subtypes. For example, Watery Grave = Island Swamp. it says it right on the card.

  • So you can use tribal flames with rav lands?

  • Yes. A Temple Garden, for instance, counts as both a Plains and a Forest.

  • Good stuff. Text decklists would be much appreciated, though.

  • whats the plan versus blood moon/magus of the moon? just have guys out prior and win with burn? Have you considered slaughter pact main to deal with the magus (more likley played of the two) and give the deck reach and speed versus a tarmogoyf that would normally outclass all your creatures.

  • this was a better demonstration of how a deck works, but posting a decklist or explaining it in more detail could help alot.

  • Glad you liked it :)

  • Very nice.
