  • Cyborg would have fucked Ronda up so bad. OMG that would have been so entertaining.

  • this girl is prolly better than the pro opponents ronda faced

  • couldnt even get a fap going... well replay n try again...

  • This chic is a fluke. Second fight chic never taps. Wtf?!? Stop givin her the w she didn't earn the fight.

  • @gindekhal its normal in ammy fights to stop them early in arm submissions

  • @gindekhal You realize she's the best wmma fighter right?

  • She Is really fast !!

  • Ronda is hotter than the ring girls!

  • people questioning the stoppage. the is an ammy fight so they usually dont let the arm break they call it.

  • verbal tap. not defending the arm bar at all. good stoppage.. why get your arm broke ?? ask big nog if he shoulda tapped

  • The ref is retard and so are the announcers. No mention that Stratford didn't tap by the announcers. That's at least 2 wins on Rousey's record where the opponent didn't tap, but it was stopped by the ref.

Cyborg is gonna knock that stupid mole off her face!

  • Stratford didn't contest the ruling, so she must have known she was beaten and that the ref was protecting her.

  • where was the tap?

  • @The808paddler A fighter doesn't have to tap for the fight to be stopped, if you knew anything about the physics of a Juji-Gatame (not an "arm bar") you would have seen that the arm was bending at the elbow to such a degree that the arm would have broken. General MMA rules / Judo Rules a ref can stop the fight if they feel the arm is going to break to protect the competitor.

  • @chastell you are fucking retard. that was an early stoppage. the ref doesn't know how much the fighter can stand. there are countless example of fighters being in the same position and getting out of it to win the fight.

  • @chastell i agree, it was a good stop, she's capable of breaking the arm, we have seen that already.

  • @chastell Like and agree your overall point but you come off as MMAelitist busting out the "real" name for the technique.

  • @chastell WRONG. Go watch Rich Franklin vs. Okami. He was in a fully extended armbar and escaped beautifully.

  • that was nice of the ref.

  • the tap was around 2:29

  • pretty sure that woman is pure jits

  • @roninblax

    Judo actually

  • @PublicICON never acctually seen a judo player with a ground game that tight.

  • @PublicICON I mean I do see Gene Lebell in her corner, but he's so experienced I can see him knowing everything. Basically the line between Judo and its subset BJJ are very blurred.

  • mofoingGene LeBell!!!!

  • Rousey's grappling is so explosive and exciting. Looking forward to seeing her get great at striking.

  • Rousey's grappling is just phenomenon.

  • No tap but that arm was ready to snap

  • No mention of immediate fight stoppage with no tap?

  • I wish more Judo players would work their Judo for MMA.

  • @thatdude21601 all well and good to say, but so much of Judo relies on getting a good grip. something that is VERY tough to do when grabbing skin as opposed to clothing. I agree I loves me a good judo throw though

  • ronda looking good in those spandex.....yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy

  • Jeeeeeez, Rousey is impressive. Thought the announcer sounded like a nob though. 'Taylor "Tay" Stratford'?? Tay isn't a nickname, it's an abbreviation...

  • this girl looks promising

  • She's tough. I believe she's gonna roll in professional MMA with a style.

  • Amateur bouts, refs get to stop it when they feel they should...at least I think that's how these shows operate?

  • Rousey's opponent didn't tap in her 1st MMA fight either but the ref stopped it assuming the arm bar was good.

  • Girl's got skills. And she's hot.

  • Awesome Job, Ronda!

  • Is That Judo Gene Labell awesome pick of the ankle in the guard

  • watch the slow mo at about 2:30 it looks like she did tap but that was an awful fast stoppage with out a pronuced tap

  • fire that ref

  • damn that was smooth

  • @aljanat5 What good has ever come out of reno besides desert lizards and inbred cannibals? Actually if you can name a single good thing about reno then you'll have an argument. coming from a hicktown doesn't make you a good fighter, it makes you easier to impregnate.

  • if the ref didn't stopped it she would broke her arm it's right!

  • Unreal (morons saying the ref shouldn't have stopped it)

  • I'm becoming a huge Rondo fan. Very humble. "I get jitters and just wanna end it." made me chuckle.

  • She tapped during the roll. Watch it again.

  • There is a rule in Judo which states that an opponent must be given an opportunity to submit. Not sure if it is written that way in BJJ or not, but I am pretty certain that I have never seen such a rule in the various MMA rule lists. It was probably only that part of Ronda's training which saved the girls elbow. The referee did the right thing.

  • While there was no tap, it was pretty obvious what was going to happen.

  • She is a Judo champion, ofcourse her techniques are trained accordingly. Gene Lebell is an excellent newaza coach not to mention, her mom won a Olympic gold medal in Judo using using jujigatame "arm bars" and taught her daughter well.

  • @DeltaSigChi4 Stop being disingenuous. She used pure judo. Did she butt scoot? Did she heel hook? Go on, name more techniques.

  • do you think she was going to get out of that arm bar ??? no way

  • Jiu Jitsu.

    E

  • @DeltaSigChi4 Judo, actually.

  • @TheSovietAlliance Apparently you are unfamiliar the history of Judo/Jiu Jitsu. It is clearly newaza that she employs on the mat once she utilised her stand-up (Judo) to get it there. Considering that Judo is a sport derivative of Jiu Jitsu, it's safe to say "Jiu Jitsu" like I did. We can go on to debate osaekomi (laughable btw) if you wish or just leave it at that.

    E

    Postscript. Jiu Jitsu.

  • @DeltaSigChi4 No, you are not familiar with what judo is. Jujutsu is not a single style. It doesn't exist like that. It is a genericized term for Japanese martial arts. Judo is a derivative of many different styles and the sport side of judo is just one aspect of judo (you clearly don't even know what -do means). This isn't a debate. It is me correcting you.

I challenge you to name techniques in BJJ that aren't in judo. Go.

  • @TheSovietAlliance You are correct; there exists no techniques in Jiu Jitsu that are not in Judo. In fact, if a Black Belt in Judo faces a Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu, both top of their sports, the Black Belt in Judo would destroy the BJJ Black Belt. Wait, that's not right.

BJJ Technique not in Judo: buttscooting.

I challenge you to find a Judo player that can beat a Jiu Jitsu player of the equivalent rank/time in sport in newaza.

The Soviet Union fell; get over it, son.

    E

  • @DeltaSigChi4 Leg Locks.

  • @DeltaSigChi4

You must be a moron. You haven't heard of Masahiko Kimura? The guy who absolutely owned helio gracie the founder of bjj in a grappling match throwing him over and over and eventually breaking his arm?

  • @DeltaSigChi4 BJJ players spend more time on the ground than Judoka, so it's not surprising that, at equivalent time, the BJJ guys are better on the ground--especially at low grades. Now, whether they can get the Judoka on the ground and avoid getting slammed on their heads is an entirely different question. There are plenty of Judoka at BJJ black belt level -- I've seen my instructor destroy a BJJ brown -- but your average BJJ black belt is going to crush a Judo BB on the ground.

  • @DeltaSigChi4 Koji Komura.

  • @TheSovietAlliance

    X Guard

50/50 Guard Just to name two guards.

  • Stratford never tapped. Maybe the ref should have given her a couple more seconds to see what she was going to do. Rousey out of tournament now. She's going pro before the tourney ends. Stratford advances.

  • Team Hayastan should be ashamed to be associated with such an openly fixed match.

Reno losing in a fight to Santa Monica WTF? Chris Tioni needs to be armbared.

  • @aljanat5 What good has ever come out of reno besides desert lizards and inbred cannibals? Actually if you can name a single good thing about reno then you'll have an argument. coming from a hicktown doesn't make you a good fighter, it makes you easier to impregnate.

  • @BootyGarame .999 sterling silver and $2 Blackjack tables?

  • @BootyGarame Ryan Bader is from Reno!

  • damn, that was fast. Thanks for posting.

  • That ref needs to be asked a few questions... I didnt see a tap... could someone point out to be where the tap happens?

  • @MrBobbyFreakout

She didn't tap. Only she knows how tight that arm bar was.

  • @MrBobbyFreakout

You can see a single tap on the reply around 2:28

  • @MrBobbyFreakout

You can see a single tap on the replay around 2:28

  • @MrBobbyFreakout its an amateue fight. whats the point of letting the girl get her arm broken. it happens very quickly.

  • @MrBobbyFreakout maybe he didn't want that ronda breaks her arm like she did with her prior opponent... that armbar was tight and there was no way out

  • @ThomasMin1988

While I agree, it's still not the ref's job to remove the choice from the fighter, even if it is a dumb choice lol

  • @MrBobbyFreakout i didnt see any tap either, but she was well caught

  • @MrBobbyFreakout The ref saved that girl her arm.

That shit would've snapped if she would've extended any more

  • wow this fight went up quik!
