I like the way they went from an intro class to a choreographed routine in one day. That's good teaching.

Still, having a real piano player that could vary tempos instead of a CD player would be useful for learning.

Well, I think to say that Arthur Murray killed social dancing is a little extreme. What he did do was take the street out of these types of street dances and as you can see. What he is teaching and what the shag dancers are doing, are two different things.

It's really great to see the old style teaching ways! Very sweet. Very innocent. It also makes me feel very connected to see that I'm part of a very long line of people who have been learning and practicing this!

(But am I the only one grinning at "I'm going to show you 4 different styles of shag..." and "now that you have seen the shag"? :-) Love it.)
