  • pbo101 One would have to negate your opinion. Paul is doing very well in opera circles all over the globe and has drawn many others into listening and enjoying opera. He makes people cry-he is gifted and he is a nice person. So shut up you silly little person!

  • Tool

  • Noone can be forced to learn fuckin english because you say so. Just don't be bothered to read the spanish comments. Oh god how racist can you be...!! American m**f**s I pitty you for not having any culture and only selling us your products and killing ppl in wars.

  • hola kunfex

  • i cant believe i never heard of this guy! oh my god. he is amzing. jsut amazing. he jsut makes you love opera..he takes the slickness and dullness out of it..and makes it fantastic as it should be.

wow. (i was living on another continent for past 7 years)

  • condemorch

If you are going to post so many comments, please do it in English,

especially when they are not too complimentary.

  • @condemorch Excelente comentario, saludos

  • condemorch.

Also, it is nothing to do with media machine.

Paul walked on stage to scorn of judges and public, they were thinking,

    'Get him off',

    Then he sang.

3 minutes later, their faces changed in disbelief, and the world by morning was cheering his talent.

Overnight success in every sense of word.,, and story not known until after fame of voice.

X Factor and BGT now give their contestants months of media.

    Paul Potts has 3 minutes.

Look for evidence in 1st audition of BGT..

  • condemorch.

Has gone of all these sites as a critic os Paul, and some have been taken off because of content.

He has gone to find the least of his videos, to unleash his comments.

    condemorch,

Look on some of Pauls recent videos, or better still, go see him live as I did, and you will be amazed at how good he is.

Paul, watch yourself, knives are out.

  • what talent.....and a good and humble man....

  • He seems tired.

  • he messed up at 3:53

  • hahaha he looks like a peasant dressed in suit singing on a village's festival to the rest of countrymen.

    no class in all this

  • haha 'say a silly question and you will get a silly answer'!

  • In the field of physics -> Einstein (clerk)

In the field of music -> Potts (phone salesman)

Both of them change people's lifes.

  • amazing how a crowd that big can just gaze in awe, amazing

  • HUGOWERTHER. I saw Paul Potts live in Koln few week ago, and his voice incredible. Eleven thousand people screamed encore until he walked off stage, his three hour performance brilliant, he reached those high Cs everytime. In just one year Pauls amazing talent has been built upon, and he is now a LEGEND in progress. Paul Potts was a lump of coal thats is now being polished into a diamond of great worth.

  • absolutly fantastic...I m a fun from morocco, nothern africa...God bless you Paul Potts..

  • When you're in Asia make sure you don't give back your gifts Mr. Potts--That is very unrespectful and un humble...Not an Opera fan, but this is very good. Good luck to you

  • why did he return the present?

  • i have no idea but his a bit of a weirdo

  • all great talents are a bit different to the crowd.

  • a true respectful crowd if you ask me.

  • take it a way Mr Paul Potts said the girl

  • wat a quiet croud!

  • What power ... what amplitude in his voice.

Superb. Andrea Bocelli you must schedule a performance with this great voice.

  • lol , no way , potts is ok for never having training but bocelli blows him out of the water.

It would be a good act of charity on andreas part, and I really admire potts attitude of humbleness , but he has to know his place.

having that said maybe with more training.

  • he gave back the present? i dont know what paul was thinking, but that's considered unpolite in my culture... amazing voice though

  • i mean first song, i like Paul and i like his music, but it was look like playback, so...

  • i was thinkin it is playback?

  • Im gonna watch him live in 2 days! :D

  • Did you like him in concert, I thought he was brilliant. Singing out doors without the right amplification is not the best platform, but his voice in concert moved me. Granada, Drinking Song, for an amatuer he is up thewre with the highly trained proffessionals.Emotion is in his voice,

  • incredable voice...............man that guy is gifted!

  • echt super

  • wow!

  • Paul potts has a great voice and i wish him all the luck in world. His voice still moves me and has bring me to tears. People are geilous of his voice and hes right not change his name he was born with this name and hes proud of it. Thank -you PAUL POTTS

  • it was an amazing voice!!!

  • This belongs in a part of a movie where an important death/murder is occuring... Godfather, Silence of the Lambs, etc.,etc.,

  • best singer in the world

  • I can write for you any sheet music

  • What an incredible moment this must have been. Standing in such a beautiful city early in the day, then hearing this wonderful rendition echo through the square. Inspiring indeed!

  • He`s the best in the whole world.

  • I HAVE GOOSEBUMPS!!

  • puro760 Paul Potts much better than IIDivo, don't forget there is three tenor voices. Paul in concert much better than on you tube, reaches the high notes, creates an emotion Pavarotti does not. Go see his concert you won't beleive your ears, do'nt forget either Paul is not properly opera trained. The demeanouer of the man, very rare, humble and unassuming.

  • paul shoul sing whit il divo i tihk il divo its better than paul

  • You don't have to understand the words to appreciate opera I'm amazed.

  • He should have kept the record. Thank you Mr Potts, is that song available as a ringtone? ;)

  • Potts stood out because the judges assumed of him what you just assumed of me- because he was a mere telephone salesman - until he began to sing. I see three ironies: the irony of Potts appreciated on mass on the very players he once sold, the irony that even King Henry VIII couldn't summon the acoustic delights we take for granted in our pockets, and your self control watching on YouTube, a forum with many notoriety seeking teenagers exhibiting the same lack of self control you just did.

  • My comment was on Potts' journey, not the purchase of a ringtone. If you stopped huffing and puffing for long enough to examine it you might stand an outside chance of understanding that the comment wasn't superficial. Mind you, I live in a free society - I'll do what I like thanks all the same! I would do Puccini greater justice by doing as you say than by conceding to some flustered man who thinks himself Puccini's prime appreciator & spokesman. Is this how you always speak to women?

  • would be sweet to wipe my butt with mona lisa's face, tbh

  • fucking god i get eh chills evry time he sings!! man he is just amazing

  • incredible .. oh god. he is amazing

  • A Welshman singing in Italian for a Danish audience, and getting a very warm welcome. Sounds like this EU thing is working out. ;-)

    -jcr

  • AMAZING

You must see this video :

    Paul Potts Amazing Vocal Skills

  • hes simply amazing,so refined and humble man.

  • You know if someone keeps singing the same song over and over again, the feeling and emotion put to the song slowly fades. Every artiste/musician would feel that, and it's tough job to keep having the same strong feeling. So it really depends on the mood you're in and state of mind. But I believe Paul can do it!

  • he is a fantastic man... great singer. and also a wonderful front figure for the younger generation

  • The reason he doesnt have any bodyguards is because nobody would hurt such a nice man..

danm sad life history and he is really a hero to those with small hopes in the poor part of britain. :) Greets from Denmark hehe

  • Most importantly: Paul Potts is wonderful, and I hope he can keep his soulfulness.

But was that the P.A. system for a crowd of this size? Someone tell me there were some more speakers that we can't see in these shots. Let's not treat him as a spectacle, at the expense of SOUND. The camera crane must have cost more than the sound system.

  • Yes,I agree.And 3-strings look like a decoration.Such a cheap direction is rude for Poul.

  • This was part of a whistlestop tour to promote his album. IT wasn't a concert performance. He was expecting maybe a few hundred people. No one was prepared when 20,000 people showed up & crammed into the square. If you watch him you'll see how shocked and nervous he was.

  • Also just a general comment, I do not think he was happy with this performance in general. He knows when he gets it right and when he misses by a bit. For the just over the flu, and then outside in the cold damp air he did well for someone as untrained as he is. Remember on the first show when they called him a "lump of coal that would grow into a diamond"? He is still growing. I love his story. It is like a fairy tale come true.

  • Make me feel, make me cry

    Thank you.

  • Paul Potts is really down to earth. While he did have some problems in his renditions here, (he came from a flu and, yes, he was taken aback by the crowd's number), it is his minor imperfections that draw him closer to the hearts of the majority of his audience...the audience can relate to him as someone "alive" than as someone who just sounds like a recording all the time...I just do not understand why he gave back the plaque, though,...probable scripted so he can sing freely w/o holding it.

  • I really enjoy his singing...period...I have noticed that he sounds a bit different depending on the sound stage, a morning show, and the set up etc. I did notice a couple of places that he has done better in the past, but for pure passion and the joy he brings to what he is doing brings me to tears. I know as he gets more experience he will be able to handle the pressure of the crowds and the different climates (outside in the damp etc) he has to sing in and he will grow.

  • im your fans paul, from indonesia.......

Good comic very cool comic.

  • Fantastic, great voice.

  • a little bit boring. It seems that he is not putting too much emotions to his singing. His first audition was full of emotions. It was really great.

  • Okay, I'm not an expert on Italian, but shouldn't he say "e di speranza" instead of "e ti speranza"? Good interpretation besides, though!

  • this one voice that has been specially gifted. god sent this man with a voice that makes everyone teary eye. he is amazing. wow.

  • from heaven il maestro pavaroti...is whatching you....enjoy the talent GOD give to you!!!!!!!

  • great

  • amazing god bless you. you really touch the hearts of many around the world. amazing

  • concidering(?) he hasn't had the training like all the other opera singers, I think he's prettu damn good :P

  • this is unbelievable! PAUL POTTS!

  • amazing how he can just grab a crowd and hold on to them, simply amazing, wonderfull talent

  • To all the armchair critics at least he got off his arse and did it not like you guys how dare you compare others to him he is PAUL POTTS so get a life and enjoy new talent

  • In his own words (possible explanation why he looked so nervous:

"In September I went to Copenhagen to sing two songs in the town hall square for a charity concert. My record company said that perhaps 500 or 600 people would turn up but there were 20,000."

The unexpected large crowd overwhelmed him

  • I'd fucking be too!!! :-D

  • he looks so nervous here :O

  • A lump of coal transforming to a diamond. He's no Pavarotti he's simply Potts.

  • A Bocelli fan? You are not blind but deaf I assume

  • That's meant as a compliment to Paul. He (bugsy) is saying that Paul should not and cannot be compared to anyone else, he is unique.

  • Pavarotti, not Poverotti

  • Paul Potts has an amazing voice just like Poverotti.

  • a beautiful city:D

  • he sings nesun dorma brilliantly, but there is only two people in the world who can sing time to say goodbye and do it justice, and thats bocelli and sarah brightman... he does a good job though.

  • He has absolutely everything but "no future."

I must laught at you, sorry.

  • lol...

  • This guy is amazing!

    Enough said!

  • his voiced cracked in a lot of places in this video.

  • His voice needs no criticism. Even a diamond when discovered is "rough', and when polished is brilliant. He is a star developing to brilliance.

  • his high notes aren't very nice here ... his voice is worn out at this point in time... but he is amazing

  • To my knowledge no one ever built a stature to enshrine the wisdom of a critic. This guy is world class. Just enjoy it for the rare gem it is.

  • Nice video- Nice voice

    We love it !

    Nashville Line Dancers Aalen

    The Number One Showdancers

  • It is better to do 2 songs you do well then 25 songs bad, as you would see with many popdivas..or run of the podium as some do

  • god has nothing to do with it all the spare time at car phone warehouse

  • Way to go Paul. You are just starting. Don't stop. Your dream has come true.

  • Granted he does sing well but does he sing more than just two songs. He sings the same two over and over again.

  • Yes he does. He starts to result boring

  • the language is hard to learn in operas. He probably selected those two pieces because they were famous(like time to say goodbye) and those that he have already learnt and is very familiar with. Nessun Dorma was probably his best.

  • These are the "freebies" on YouTube. Buy his CD and you'll have at least 12 more. His "Ave Maria" may become his best number, look for it. Right now I like his REM - "Everybody Hurts" most.

  • What a great talent, a very down to earth young man !Paul Potts will become one of the worlds best ever opera singers i am sure.GOOD LUCK Paul

  • No he won't! Don't be soo ridiculous. He's good, but he won't last! He just hasn't got an operah voice that people will carry on to love, unlike the others. Comments like that just show you haven't got a clue.

  • excelente

  • so is Pavarotti.. I love him,

    he sang like an angel.

    so does Paul Potts..

    he is my inspiration.

I thank God for giving us someone like him...

  • tu eres un pendejo.

    no sabes nada de canto.

vete a eacuchar a el diablo idiota

  • fat or not, he's got an amazing voice

  • that's not very nice thing to say about your fellowm mankind I bet u can't sing

  • I feel sorry for you

  • finally justice found his way. Work hard and enjoy your succes and stay your self. That's your power. You deserve this Paul.

  • You touch my heart and soul....you are fantastic and I love you...I am soooooooo very happy for you....enjoy your singing for all of us all around the world ....

Love you and keep singing.... BlondeDove

  • Thanks for you voice, Paul...I´m from Rio de janeiro city/Brasil and Ilove you singing. God Bless you.

  • Haha, yeah that was hella funny how he just gave the gold record back. "Nahh im good....not from YOU people..."

But seriously, he probobly did take it with him, he just didnt wanna hold on to it while he sang. Would be a tad awkward.

  • We love you in Texas Paul.

    Free Hugs From TX

    RundoeTX

  • This man can bring the world together with his voice.

  • he's a great guy... but he's weird. why doesn't he accept the gift? its rude to return it back. and VERY weird.
