I remember seeing James Karen in Poltergeist and thinking "OMG! It's the Pathmark guy!" Also, That comment from Karen actually made me laugh: "Larry's back from Alaska covering the Pope. His story at 11." I had this vision of Larry Kane giving the Pope a blanket in Alaska.
I remember James karen from these Pathmark commercials when I was a kid. I was surprised when I saw him as one of the main characters in Return of the Living Dead. He was great in it.
James (Jimmy) Karen is my first cousin. Yes, we see a lot of bul-geek-ee regarding these kinds of claims but can prove it---have the photos and a wealth of information only family would know. Jimmy's former wife, singer Susan Reed, died a few days ago--condolences are being sent herewith to 2nd cousin Reed Karen, Jimmy's only child.
Heh, heh. You know, never saw that one. Did see "Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster" at a theatre in Philadelphia. It was shot in Puerto Rico--my know a few other things but they are not to be publicized. My favorite Jimmy movie is "Wall Street"------------his role is small but funny!

Good Quality on the Video. We had a Pathmark in Norwalk growing up. There is nothing in the Riverview Plaza now.
