  • Great song, great album. They supported Queen and were the only support band I ever bought an album of. This song was the one I drove my mates mad with by singing it even thought no-one had ever heard of it...

  • @dingus83 I saw them when they supported Geordie at Rolle College, Exmouth in 1975. This song stuck in my head as well all though I thought it was called "Wish I was young again". Needless to say, they blew Geordie off the stage.

  • is it just me, or is this song a bit 'Small Faces'? it has shades of 'How's your Bert's lumbago' in it.

  • Jeffrey, if that is really you, I've always wondered why your second album never been released on cd? That has annoyed me for years and years. I still have it on LP but my cat has shredded the inner sleeve though. LOL!

  • I'm sure there was a story behind how there came to be two drummers in the band for a while. Unfortunately I've forgotten what it was? Can anyone enlighten?

  • @PhilFCUM Yeah i would like to know too!

  • i love this song!

  • Great song, totally loved this song when it came out - and the fantastic B-side

"Golden Lights" - I lived on a horrible council estate, and Dicken seemed to talk directly to that working class youth experience - a true great.

  • I was that gorilla. At the time I was the sound engineeer for Mr Big and on the day of recording they needed someone to dress in the groilla suit. I remember going to the bar and ordering a beer and running around in the streets of London dressed in the outfit...really was fun

  • 2 drummers and a gorilla on keyboard.... weird.....

  • Thanks for postr grreat to finally see them Live. Found this album in a bin full of reject albums. Bought it for $2.99 as an import. best deal ever!! whart a fantastic album. even my dad who didn't speak English enjoyed the songs as I played it to death in the 70's

  • I loved it with two drummers! They had such original line-ups or instrumentation back then. ELO with their string section. Sailor with their nickelodeon. Only in the 70's!

  • Cool vid. H+s Bregade wouldnt allow that now though. Not without hard hats, hi vis vests, fall arrest harness, stunt men and permits to work. not to forget a lock off procedure to keep the gorilla away from the electrics,

  • yeah the good old days, thanks for posting this one, i love it. funny, punky sound, preferably listening to it when drunk, hahaha! wish there was some life footage of sweet silence, zambia, uncle john etc?

    mr. big kicks ass!!

    keep kicking jeff!

    best regards, emile.

  • gracias por esta gran banda

  • Great stuff - got the album. This reminds me of the Heavy metal kids. Isn't it strange that this is quite 'punky' and then punk broke big time and shortly after it's two ballads as singles.

  • thanks for posting this, never seen it before. reminds me of steve marriott on vocals, and thats a compliment. great little guitar riff to, looked a bit dangerous on that stage though.

  • Thank you for this addition. This band was good, very good. Dicken's songs were always interesting, and sometimes poignant. Peter Crowther was a melodic bass-player, which went nicely with the heavier songs as well as the more singles-oriented numbers. Strange that Eddie Carter, who joined later, looked very like Chaulky (the drummer on the right - John Burnip is the other fella).
