The fight with Chaos 2 is pretty tough but only because Knuckles lacks fighting gloves. It kind of becomes a little easier when you can perform the Maximum Heat Knuckles attack in Knuckles boss time trial mode, but you still have to be careful even then and still have to be good at recovering your rings.

no it's not, actually. one of the possible emerald locations is under the golden sonic statue, where knuckles destroys it, which shows why it's not there when sonic and tails are there. And, during the time knuckles is with the ball of light (spoiler blocker there) sonic and tails go in, which explains why after sonic and tails are sitting outside, because of what eggman did.

But that doesn't work as after you add enough coins during Sonic and Tails' level you can go back and see the statue being made. Plus the fact that all the coins are there during Knuckles' segment.

well, it makes more sense than the golden sonic statue to be re-built between the time the two stages. Also, from a logical stand point, if the casino was a real one. If there were tons of coins there, wouldn't the people working at the casino remove all the coins so there would be room for more? (in this case, Sonic and Tails.)
