I love this version. But still, from radiohead version i can't get enogh. After listening this 5 times, his voice (which is incredible) starts getting boring. Not enough variation.
So sick it's ridiculous. They NAILED this. Best 'Head cover I have ever heard. And Mark Ronson's band then tore through an instrumental of "Just" about an hour after this. Everyone knows that Thom and Co. are the big dogs. Long live the Head!
I was definitely at this lollapalooza and I remember this cover pretty vividly. if Johnny Greenwood was on the piano then he was not introduced at any point in time...
I really wish there was an HD recording... This was an incredible performance that really had me rethink Gnarls. When celo started singing reckoner there was an eerie silence while it set in how good he was doing. Not many people can claim to do covers of Radiohead well and this one was an excellent finale to the festival.

someone has to tell this guy to stop. I have nothing against him but Reckoner is too much of a song for him (too much, too bright, too powerful, haha).
Don't get me wrong, but in my opinion, Videotape is by FAR the best song from In Rainbows, All I Need comes next THEN Reckoner. They are all amazing though to be fair, just that Videotape is more amazing than Reckoner.
It's pretty awesome that he can sing it in the original key at full voice, but it's not a full voice kind of song so the musicality and sentiment sounds off.
Total agreement. I much prefer the original but it's a great cover. Thom Yorke brings a vulnerability that makes me prefer it. Great to see that Gnarls Barkely is a Radiohead fan!
to anyone that has an opinion but has yet to see radiohead preform this live..... you don't know shit, go watch them to it and then write that this is a good cover. cause you won't. better than you and i could do but whatever still doesn't mean that he does the song justice. maybe if he knew the fucking words it would be better....
I was waiting in line for the bathroom near the stage when I heard this and it's still one of the most memorable songs, for me, from that weekend. So much soul and what a voice!
UGH I left like 15 minutes before his set was over to get up close for NIN...... so i probably missed this song by like 5 minutes this is bone chillingly good
me too...i ended up hearing it...b/c i think they turned the speakers up...right when i got passed girl power....i was pissed bc i thought they might do it
I was at this!! great concert....and Radiohead performed it as well the first night :D

well of course you are factually incorrect. Reckoner is far superior.

why does your heart hurt? do you mean literally or figuratively to describe your emotions?
Blackmace 2 years ago
imho c-lo's immense voice makes the cover version more powerful than the original
JahWorks420 2 years ago
I strongly feel York's weak voice is what make his version more powerful. Volume isn't everything.
Anyway this is a great cover.

hamdigidy 3 years ago
hah same I remember hearing this from girl talk and was bummed i didn't get to see him
binder673 3 years ago
He should really start softly and get louder towards the end, like Radiohead tend to do. It'd be so much more emotive.
tomsega 3 years ago
but then it wouldn't be a cover, it'd just be some guy trying hard to be Radiohead.
Blackmace 2 years ago
i was there. dope seeing both versions live in one weekend.
therollinstonr 3 years ago
Yeah I'm jealous. I missed Gnarls, but Radiohead was amazing. Both in one weekend sounds sweet.
racso452 3 years ago
that was pretty sweet, im not really a fan of gnarls but that was a great cover of a hard band to cover
jasongold11 3 years ago
I love radiohead and gnarles, and I must say this is a pretty good cover, I like how his voice sounds with the song.
So stop hating on the man, he seems to be a fan of radiohead and thats all that matters.
I'm gonna do a cover to this for my school's variety show...
cause reckoner is one of my faves from In rainbows ^__^
