tires defects can be caused by, open fabric splices, open liner splice, open sidwall splices, fabric dust, liner contamination(this is what happened to firestone). the most common defects with tires at the plant is fabric and liner splices too wide and the splices to be slightly out of orientation with each other(this is what causes a out of balanced tire) tread or sidewall that was too long can cause balance problems, by pating down to fit and causing on spot to have more rubber than the other
Well, actually it would also be excellent to see the manufacturing defects before they are sold.
What does "untoward mfg. conditions" mean? And I have asked for the manufacturing defects occurred during service life of the tyre. Maybe can you share your resources or refences also?
mfg. defects other than a few visible ones like blemishes, narrow bead etc. are mostly internal and not visible outside.. we can only see the effects of any mfg. defect on a prematurely failed tire.. for example trapped air between layers of plies may cause separation to occur.. fold or crease at ply turn-up may cause cracks/bulge to develop externally.. also watch my other video tire defects (part-2).. untoward mfg conditions basically are avoidable conditions but missed..
if u r talking about defects observed in new tires before those leave manufacturer's plant i am yet to post.. however any defect detected at that stage prevents a tire from reaching the market-place.. most of the tire failures in service (during usage) are caused by untoward mfg. conditions unless service abuse/poor maintenance/improper application causing such premature failure is observed..
Notice most of the defects are cheap or chinese brands... You might have better luck with quality tires... But very good video!
