this honestly scares the shit outta me, i remember watching it when i was very little and i didnt like it at all.... the scarecrow losing its head, it freaks me out!!!
Is it me, or is the wolf's first appearance the most hilarious thing in the world of classic cartoons? Rather than speak, or just appear, he mumbles a bunch of nonsense before noticing the sheep. That's so dumb that it's just so frigging funny!
Surreal Baaa-ad Generic Wolf.... Billy Blecher lives forever by the side of the Information Superhighway... ALL HAIL YOUTUBE: greatest media since Gutenberg!
@wiley207 -- That's no surprise. Ub Iwerks was a former Disney man--*the* Disney man, I'd say. He created the first sketch of Mickey Mouse. With animators and directors often migrating between studios, some similarities between characters was bound to happen. Compare, say Warner's Sylvester and Tweety to Columbia's Flippy and Flop, or Disney's Ranger Woodlore to.Lantz' Inspector Willoughby.
Little Boy Blue (this cartoon's real name) was the next-to-last cartoon from U.B. Iwerks' studio, it was released to movie theaters on July 30, 1936. The last cartoon was Happy Days released two months later, on September 30, 1936. This is the television print made by Castle Films.

The wolf definitely looks like Disney's version. Sometimes I can't tell the two apart. In fact, both are by the same person: Billy Bletcher.

@31operafan That's right. I know the Disney wolf isn't as skinny as this wolf, and usually wears white gloves and an old top hat.
