America isn't broke, Republicans have declared War on Democracy, they are refusing to collect taxes then crying bankruptcy, so they can hand over America's Resources to their fat-cat corporatist friends...
Outsourcing jobs by the millions, Busting Unions, cutting regulation, allowing Economic Disaster, now they want to sell our resources to themselves for pennies on the dollar... this is Conspiracy! Denial of honest services.
Balogovich couldnt hold a candle to these crooks!
look americans wont boycott gas because there weak.i live in america i kno.if gas raises 2 50dollars all americans will do is complain about it on there couch.
We did boycott gas on a day in 1997 and the price did go down. We did it again in 2007 on May 15th and the price went down. Well you want to do somthing more radical? Boycott gas every Tuesday. You can buy gas on any of the other days but on Tuesday we boycott gas. We do this until the troops come home. This will force a surplus which will cause the price to go down but still boycott till the troops come home causing the price to drop even more. We keep it up until the troop come home.
can you believe that in 1997 during the gas boycott, the national average price per gallon when the boycott began was only $1.24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adjusted for inflation, $1.24 in 1997 is equal to $1.75 today! Forgot praying or jumping for joy if the price is $3 or $2.50 or $2 tomorrow. BE PISSED EVEN IF IT DROPS ALL THE WAY TO $1.75 CAUSE THATS STILL A RIPOFF!!!
I don't know I don't have Exxon where I am. I live in a small ass town, the nearest store is 30 mintues away,by car and I am not going to walk there and back.
will not work, this will just hurt the stores. It is not Exxon fault, their profit per gallon is 35 cents a gallon, like 7.5 Percent profit. That is not alot. We need to be allowed to drill our own oil and build more refineries.
Understand your concern for the retailer, so take a look at my idea about cutting up gas credit cards.
Might have a more lasting effect than attempting a gas boycott.
But the question is are we willing to give up those cards--------Hmmmmm maybe price is currently at $4 bucks in Calif. now, maybe $5 will be the action point.
If you want to get the attention of Exxon Mobil--Tell them that you are going to cut up their credit card and mail it back to them on July 4th 2008--
We can call it freedom from Exxon Mobil day.
Bet on July 5 they would listen a little better.
This would have little effect on your local station, because you could still buy from them, but the big boy's would be getting a message that they would not enjoy.
A plus for everyone that cuts up his or her card---------Save interest we pay.
Ok. How about this. Boycott the oil company that turns in the highest quarterly profits. That way None of them would want to come in first. And boycott them for the whole next quarter.
One oil company at a time. It's a good way to start. Which oil company are the Bush's invested in ? Start with that one. We also need to get rid of Citgo for good. We need to buy American Oil and boycott the rest.
I hope people do this!Gas prices are ridiculous. These gas stations have way too much power us. We need to let them know we control them, not the other way around!
The only way to spread the word is by graffitti. The canvas is Internal combustion engine cars. The best targets are the most expensive cars. The moral law(art of war) is on your side as internal combustion engine cars cause global warming and our governments are not supporting the elctric vehicles to protect it's citizens. A rise in the level of anarchy is, to me, justified. Or, are we sheep?
gas was ridiculous in 1997 when the national average price was $1.24 per gallon cause there was a huge boycott back then. Adjusted for inflation $1.24 in 1997 is equal to $1.75 today. Forget praying for $3 a gallon or even $2.25. Be pissed even if it drops all the way down to $1.75 cause thats stilll too much!
Quit crying about high prices. America brought it on herself by buying multiple SUVs family.
Now, the rest of the world wants to be like the US.
10,000 cars are hitting the road in China PER DAY. The new TATA has been unveiled in India and is selling like HOTCAKES. Chinese factories need OIL in order to make all the trinkets and other bullshit that Americans buy. They need Diesel to bring it on ships to America. Then they need more Diesel to transport it in trucks to your local WalMart.
You absolutely don't understand economics. When you don't buy gas from company X, instead buying from companies Y and Z, you increase the profits for companies Y and Z for that month. This increase will OFFSET any losses from the protest month. The *only* way to have an effect (and a minimal one at that due to savy investors buying the cheaper oil during the boycott) is not to use oil at all for a specific period of time. (weeks and months)
All we need to do is boycott Exxxon/Mobil. They have the largest share of market. When they have to lower their prices to get customers back the others will have to follow.
