  • Thank you!!!

  • Am going to try to use white pearl-ex in all my paint colors to see what happens. Will let you know.

  • Do u really need the drying tool?

  • @Preci831 Nope, you can let it air dry, just of course takes longer and longer to see the dried color as sometimes it lightens a bit or darkens a bit from its wet color.

  • I've used this method for the micah's as well! I'm always on the lookout for a "do it yourself" tutorial. I think that's why they created Youtube, lol!

  • Best video for this idea I've seen so far! TFS

  • Thanks so much for this video! I'm deff going to be making my own -- I just have a question, what color Perfect Peals do I need to get? Is it one color or do I need to get one of each color for every mist (ie- pink Perfect Pear for pink mist, etc) I hope I don't sound too confusing ....

  • @mamiturtle They have a 3 pack you can get which is nice but you don't need a lot of perfect pearls. Your color is mostly coming from the acrylic paint you are using. The perfect pearls adds the glimmer to it. Some of them have a gold glimmer base, others a greenish glimmer base. They may look say pink but their base is a gold sparkle. I hope I am making sense. At the time i made this video, I actually only owned 3 p. pearls and 2 mica powders total. Made lots of colors though.

  • @MeganBeads Thanks! I thought I had to get every color pearl and I'm glad I don't for now. Can't wait to start making some of these. You're saving me alot of $ LOL

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • Great idea, I started doing this but I put the water in last. I like your idea best, but boy do you save money on glimmer mist.

  • This has been a great idea, now I do not have to spend $6.95 a bottle for a glimmer mist. Just need to buy the emptly bottles and add paint and water. Thanks for sharing.

  • Perfect Pearls (mica powder) already has a binder so you don't need to add the glue! And, it is so fine that it won't clog the sprayers!

  • @PatsyBocook I believe I was using Pearl-ex Mica Powder. Unfortunately its plain and has no binder.

  • @MeganBeads

You're right - I forgot about the regular Pearl-Ex! I buy Perfect Pearls from JoAnn's when it's on sale 40 or 50% off! Really good video - TFS - I'm gonna try this tomorrow - using Perfect Pearls:)

  • Hello I do my mist the same way, and it's not being cheap it's being smart lol

  • Great idea! The glimmer mists are so expensive, and like you I want all the colors! I'll definitely be trying this. :)

  • Great tutorial! Thanks so much! I will be trying this formula for sure! I have watched many different videos about making your own mists, but I love that you can use the paint with the pearl ex. I'm going to try adding hairspray instead of the glue to see if that works. Thanks again so much!

  • I get my empty misters in travel packs at the dollar store. Hey I don't put glue in mine and they stay on the paper just fine. Pearlex powder? I just bought metalic and glimmer paints from walmart. lol OH I fix with a heat gun.

  • @westernkate I have tried just the metallic and sparkly paints but it wasn't enough glimmer for me and I did not want to overload on the paint.. LOL, I like sparkles. With the mica powders they require just a little something extra to fix them, thus the glue or it would not be needed. :-)

  • Very cool! Thanks for sharing your great technique!

  • I am so glad to find out where to get the bottles!! Thank you for this idea!!

  • I am going to try this today. TFS =0)

  • How do you keep the glue from stopping up the misters?

  • @tuffytuffers I really have never had that problem. I think its because its such a little amount of glue. None of my pump nozzles have gotten clogged at all. I am not sure what happens with all the glimmer mist bottles but I now everyone has such a hard time with them clogging. Maybe its because mine have a slightly wider spray tip or something. :-)

  • TFS, this is the first time ive seen acrylic paint used to add color to the mist...lucky i havent' bought the reinkers yet to color my mist cause i have a lot of the dollar acrylic paints

  • cool i just made mine from water, pearl paints and some glitter glue.

looks like same bottles i found lol

not sure i can find mica powders here in my town

cairns australia here but this looks great well done

    tyvm
