WOW i had to stop at 0:50 to actually look for him :O

he doesn't paint himself but he is an artist. he's mainly a photographer and a sculptor. it could be that he sets up the camera angles and perspectives but has his assistants paint on him. either way it's still amazing

It's called conceptual art, it doesn't matter who applies the actual paint. liu bolin is still the artist as it his concept and that is what matters in conceptual art.

It started as a political commentary on the tensions between the Chinese government and their people and the identity an environment gives an individual and vice versa. I have researched many article about this, and there are just multiple answers. I am just assuming he could like paint a suit, then like put it on lol but that is probably wrong. Whatever the answer, art is freakin awesome.

If he did actually Paint Himself, it would be Impressive. That being said, it may be his Idea that makes him the "Artist", but not his Skills.

I have read repeatedly that he "paints himself". No he doesn't. This is interesting, but doesn't strike me as "art". The empty photo at the end wasn't funny, either.

@monkey505boy thanx for your intresting feedback, but art comes in many forms. it is all up to how people think of it. he may or may not paint himself, but if you were to paint yourself for people's amusement, what would you call it? he calls it art, so it is art. and if the ending wasnt funny to you, thats great! this is mainly to show off his work, not so you can critisize art and the non-funny parts of my videos.

@EvanWiorek But any that i,ve seen "live" hes being painted by someone else , ive seen 2 , a japanese temple and a pile of bricks and he did not paint himself , if you think about it its more or less impossible to paint yourself as well as some of these pics are done the one where theres a bloke stood behind him and the jcb tyre spring to mind he would never get the perpective right , what source are you looking at

damien hirst didn't personally put a shark in a tank, but it's still his work.

@cowbags64 the greatest painters in the world have had "students" do their work. da Vinci, Michelangelo..etc etc. yet, its still their creation, their idea, so its still their work.
