  • yeah she looks stiff but she is wearing a corset, and corsets are extremely constrictive

  • Not good at all, no comparison with Gina Lollobrigida in 1956 "Hunchback of Notre Dame" Dance is much worse, and the performer is much less beautiful and talented, and skillful. They should not have done this movie, knowing what they would have been inevitably compared to.I like Hayek in general, but she should have understood what she was doing.

  • Salma has publicly declared that dancing is not one of her fortes, and ironically she has been asked to dance in most of the roles she had played!

  • UM why Selma heyak ? shes fucking ugly, Esmeralda is gorgeous!

i'll stick to Gina Lollobrigida at least she's beautiful !

  • me kedo con la de disney--> /watch?v=FYrxT0c7e2U

  • What is the name of this film?

  • @240Lui It's called The Hunchback and was released in 1997.

  • Nossa, música da divaaaa!!!

  • what's this from? sure she's no dancer but I like the look of the scene.

  • fail...

  • Really? I could have done that and i suck at dancing....

  • Salma Hayak destroyed this film, the bad destruction.

  • its hayek you turd.

  • @swastikausa Fuck you bitch

  • good

  • Haha, realized, I sounded cocky but, honestly, it's not hard to swish a skirt around, undulate and move your arms and stuff. It really isn't, try it at home. ^__^;

I would LOVE to see someone young portray Esmeralda how she SHOULD be though. Haven't read the book but I'd love to, before I die anyway. XD

  • I grew up with Disney's Esmeralda so I was curious about finding live-action versions. Saw Gina Lollobrigida: SWEET MOTHER OF GOD, THAT WOMAN'S WAIST WOULD MAKE APHRODITE SWOON. @________@ While she looked older than I thought, she's still incredible and I can see where Disney got the inspiration.

Salma Hayek: Not to be rude to those who like this but... couldn't they have gotten someone who DANCES or, at least, TAUGHT her some moves? I mean even THIS girl can do that, and I can't dance at all.

  • baila fatal

  • I'd let her dance on my testicles.

  • cartoon dances better then you, you know its time for lessons. XD

  • I always get upset with the castings for Esmeralda. The girl is hard to cast, sure, but she is supposed to be that fragile, incredibly beautiful 16 year-old, not some woman in her 20s. I always think they should cast a dark-haired dancer for that role, to get the youth and fragile grace and non-self-conscious sex appeal across. For instance, I am a huge fan of Gina Lollobrigida, but for me she is no more Esmeralda than Salma Hayek is. Sorry about the rant and thanks for posting, anyway :-).

  • @uclmu2008 I agree completely! I've seen so many different variations of Notre Dame de Paris, and in every movie and play, they cast Esmeralda as a gorgeous but very adult woman, usually in her mid to late 20s. I'm waiting for them to get a younger and more fitting girl to play the role, someone still in her teens, who can convey Esmeralda's beauty and grace but also her naive innocence. Tim Burton is making another Hunchback movie, and I cringe to think who he will cast as Esmeralda.... D:

  • @AuburnSnow: really, Tim Burton is making the next Hunchback movie? Oh my. You are so right, we have another thing coming in terms of Esmeralda... I didn't even like Disney's Esmeralda. Even she was too grown up, and had none of the fragility of the character - and she was a cartoon, they could have drawn whatever they wanted to :). I'll admit it's a hard role though. Even in the ballet, I find that only very young and rather inexperienced dancers get Esmeralda's character across.

  • @uclmu2008 Yup! I personally love Disney's Esmeralda BECAUSE of how different she is from the book, but I love her as a separate entity. I really like both Salma and Gina too, but they just aren't Esmeralda. As for Tim Burton, I have mixed feelings about him directing. (Although I think Helena Bonham Carter could be the perfect Paquette and Johnny Depp could be Gringoire, lol). I'm worried he'll pick someone older and mainstream for Esmeralda, like Mila Kunis. Alan Rickman could be Frollo, haha

  • @AuburnSnow No, Johnny Depp as Clopin!!

  • amınakodumun ibneleri. kaç gündür orjinal müziğini arıyorum bulamadım hala. ne biçim müzik eklemişsiniz piç oğlu piçler

  • Thanks :D

  • @elrota You're welcome. :)

  • Whats the song name?

  • @elrota The song is called Arabian Nights and was sung by Sarah Brightman.

  • o shes dancing??? i had nooo idea!

  • she is cute but her dance hm i don´t now maybe she can´t dance soo good

  • Is this Sarah Brightman singing?

  • @MsSaraMurray19 Yes, it is Sarah Brightman. :)

  • not bad for a band from the 15th century. XD

  • could you tell me the title of this movie?

  • @MrLovepicasso The scenes are from the 1997 movie The Hunchback that starred Salma Hayek as Esmeralda the gypsy heroine of Victor Hugo's novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

  • @DraculVanHelsing

    thank you!!!

  • @MrLovepicasso You're welcome. :)

  • Erm...would it have killed them to have hired an actual dancer for Esmeralda? Because here she's not so much dance as well as she is posing, turning, swishing her skirt and undulating.

  • @FantasmaLuna Oh yeah? go watch From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) and you'll be eating those words wise guy...

  • @LongDieseldog First of all, I'm a chick. Secondly, that's a different role entirely. Thirdly, don't get me wrong. I love Salma to bits and I like her in this role. She's just not a great dancer and I think that dance is important for the character of Esmeralda.

  • @FantasmaLuna Oh wow really? my apologies, but I didn't know a girl being called a wise guy indicates she's definitely a man, but I guess I'm wrong.

I'm sorry, I thought she gave a pretty hot dance on the table in From Dusk Till Dawn. But I guess that's just my opinion.

And holy cow, you responded fast. I didn't expect you to respond at all because you wrote that comment a year ago already.

  • @LongDieseldog I thought it was pretty hot too. It's just a different kind of dance from this one, though both show some movements of Belly.

And yeah, well, what can I say? My internet addiction hasn't been doing me any favours.

  • She might not be the best dancer, but I like her attire. :-)

  • @ImperatrixInfernalis she dances better in From Dusk Til Dawn!

  • @masterimasim Indeed, she did a much better job in being a seductive dancer in Dusk til Dawn than this. This dancing is on the verge of being mediocre.

  • salma for ever!!!!!!

  • Pretty music!

  • This is my favorite Salma scene. Very sexy !

  • That's not Salma's fault. It's the dress. It doesn't reveal her body proportions very well. Though I gotta add, I'm a Salma fan, but she's not a good Esmeralda. I like Gina Lollobrigida as Esmeralda much better.

  • no she doesn't dance well, her waist and body isn't elastic, even if the dress is flowing, that doesn't do anything....despite this, i need this scene in my cosplay part, I'll play a gypsy, and i need to memorize the moves and preform it right... the moves are right, but she doesn't have the elastic body of Egyptians or Spanish (where gypsies used to come from)now does anybody know from where to get the music

  • i meant movie lol

  • @solynara This music is from Sarah Brightman's disc "Harem"

  • @ImperatrixInfernalis which song is it

  • @ImperatrixInfernalis which song is it

  • @solynara the song is "Arabian Nights"

  • agreed. but when i saw that she dies in the dies god did that shoot my weekend

  • @jesjas she looks quite stiff...
