My favorite Xmas special of all time. Boris Karloff was the best narrator of any special--of course he had the great dialogue of Dr. Seuss. The Grinch's facial expressions are as good as any animated character in history. And who cannot love Cindy Lou Who (who was no more than 2)?

i hate how people assume he hates CHRISTMAS. The truth is, people like Grinch hates happiness, life and laughter and things that normally make other human beings happy. Deep inside these people are envious because they do not possess love and relaxed mind of their own - it's not their fault, and to be that ignorant and say oh, he hates christmas - yes he probably does but CHRISTMAS is not the reason why he hates it, he hates the people that make a huge deal out of some stupid happy tradition.

However I'm a big supporter of Commercialized Christmas. The main theme is still love, family, charity & appreciation. It also provides a wonderful holiday for those who are not Christian. I agree that it is Grinchy to not support commercialized Christmas it's wonderful and fills the heart with magic even if it's only one day of the year.

I have always preferred this special over the stupid live action Jim Carry movie, after all the film version is just too full of jokes that older generations years from now won't get and be lost on, this animated version even though it had a few jokes kept them mostly tame and still never forgot about Seuss's moral that it had to get across, and if there's one thing I can't stand and not forgive the live action version for *2bcont.*

When I was younger and first realized that Boris Karloff narrated and voiced the Grinch, I could not believe it. Up until then, I only knew of Boris' Universal Studio Monsters fame.
