  • It looks like the front wheel was in a ditch... Low range and reverse and some weight in the back would have got them out quicker... Also looks like it has tiny tires too.

  • Degeaba ai orice fel de sistem 4x4 daca nu ai cauciucuri de iarna nu poti conduce in deplinatatea posibilitatilor nici un autovehicul. Fara suparare filmuletul reflecta doar o crasa lipsa de cunostinte in ale sofatului in zapada.

  • It's a land Rover not a snow Rover ha ha XD but in all seriousness a couple good pieces of like 2x4 under each wheel would have helped so it'd have something to at least get traction on.

  • we just got almost 4 feet of snow here in maryland a few months ago and our street had about 2 1/2 feet of snow still on it and one of these trucks with aggresive tires came up our street no problem!!!! a dodge ram hemi 4x4,08 silverado z71,expedition 4x4,05 f150 4x4 all got stuck on our street but a 07 jeep tj with 31" bfg m/t,00 f350 4x4, and that rover were the only trucks to make it.

  • wow i had all seasons on my 01 honda crv and it has gone through wayy deeper snow than that, this is why there is no snow from where they're from....

  • first of all the tires on the lr3 are crap for snow driving, they make snow, all-terrain, and mud tires for a reason!!!! and yes a winch would have been helpfull !!! people get the right tires fore the conditions!!!

  • could do with knowing how to drive, less shouting and arguing and maybe a winch would have been handy to pull themselves out first.

  • I´d say that this is compleatly the drivers fault, its to hard to get stuck with a 4 x 4.

  • You just forget one thing, D3 weights a lot more than its rivals, Land Cruiser, Pajero, etc. And in soft terrain, weight is very bad feature. Otherwise its great car, but it really is heavy compared to its rivals, thats why it cant win those on snow, sand or mud.

  • In very deep snow or mud, weight is not advantage. You can change tires for other cars as well.

    The tire size matters. With same size offroad tires, LR3 sinks way easier than other cars. Weight is not an advantage when you driving in deep conditions.

    In some other cases weight may give a little benefit. Still not on deep terrains.

  • ok then put it this way, run your finger gently along a desk now do the same but push down hard see how much friction there is its the same principle

  • Desk is not DEEP surface, its solid. Your finger doesnt sink any deeper on the desk, even you push it hard. When there is more pressure on soft terrain, it sinks deeper. And when it sinks deeper, its much harder to get forward because there is more resistance to climb "on" the mud again. Tiresize is the same. Think, why are people putting big and wide tires on offroaders for mud driving? Yes they dont want to sink in the mud, because thats worst way to get forward. LR3 is still fantaastic car.:)

  • Infact they do. Look any cars made for deep terrain driving, tires are wide and tall but both to prevent same thing, sinking. Height and width both make the surface that is in touch with ground, larger, and that makes pressure lighter and carries the car better. Iceland people put very wide and tall tires when they go drive on snow and ice to share weight on larger area. Thats the bad side of big weight on soft terrains.

    Yeps yeps, to get the weight shared on larger area, to prevent tires from sinking and to improve their traction.

    Light suzuki can go soo much better in deep mud with same size tires than ultra heavy D3. lol.

  • LR is not guilty! This men could make stuck a heavy tank! Better they have stayed home. They should have puted smth under wheels, and dig under the bottom of the car. And of course, tires and the driver should be corresponding to the weather conditions and circumstances!

    Cand o masina este suspendata pe zapada / noroi / bolovani poti sa ai tu ce cauciucri vrei ca de acolo nu mai pleci pt. ca nu ai aderenta. De acolo te scapa troliul / impinsul / tractarea.

    Nu mai fa pe desteptul cand nu ii cazul (de la 40.000 euro in sus; nu mai vrea.. etc etc)

    Numai bine si sanatate.

ORICE masina poate ajunge in situatii EXTREME/NEPLACUTE/COSTISITOARE­ FARA ANVELOPE CORESPUNZATOARE... clipul nu e filmat pe camp sau pe vreun traseu offroad/montan... cand o sa folosesti troliul IN ORAS inseamna ca nu trebuia sa pleci de acasa... repet: NU AJUNGEA suspendat daca isi echipa masina cu MS-uri (sau cel putin iesea cu marsarrier-ul).

  • Masina e foarte buna, dar vine din fabrica cu roti 'all weather'( a se traduce 'de vara'). Daca vrei sa iesi cu ea prin nameti iti pui frumos roti cu profil de iarna - nu-ti trebuie cine stie ce smecherii gen Goodyear sau Pirelli, eu am unele no name facute in Ucraina si merg foarte bine.

  • the v6 is a 2.7 diesel and the 4.0l is a v8 petrol. also after driving into a snow drift I think any 4x4 would struggle with out chains and or mud tyres

  • discovery 3 are una din cele maiinteleigente transmisii 4x4 dar cand nu poti pune puterea la sol pot sa uiti de ea. in cazul de fata masina ii suspendata si nu are chiar ce face asa ca nu considerati ca aceasta masina ii numai de asflat. problema majora a ei ii ca ii foarte electronica si stiti si voi cum ii cu electronica ... cand pica stai si te uiti la ea ce frumoasa ii masina.

  • nasule eu am un LR3 dar e pe Motorina nu ca asta pe Benzina...si iarna trecuta daca iti aduci aminte in Bucuresti a fost o zapada groaznica,eu am iesit fara probleme din cele mai mari zapezi,dar asta da cu cauciucuri KHUMO ASYMETRIC de iarna.

  • First problem. Description says "Big V6 4.0L engine." Second problem is the driver heh. I've seen the LR3 get through worse issues.

  • baieti nu dati vina pe saraca masina k ea isi face treaba, faza e k nu stiti voi s`o folositi... eu am trecut fara probleme cu un Freelander 2 prin zapada mai mare k aia. Trebuie doar sa stiti cum s`o folositi. :))incercati cursurile de pregatire Land Rover dak nu stiti sa folositi masina(duceti`va la reprezentanta LR) si or sa va arate baietii cum se foloseste q adevarat masinuta. bft....:)))
