You shouldn't play the bass drum so loud, the four on the floor principle means that you play the kick so light that it is hardly audible. It is used just to fill up some space and to compliment the bass player.

Very poor. Very mechanical ride pattern with no triplet feel and, consequently, no swinging groove. Plodding, thudding bass drum that is too heavy.

This expert village seems like a total waste of time. If they think this is some kind of expertise, they're wrong.
