Click on link "Downloads" on the FreeCAD site and search your OS version. At this moment actual version is 0.12 5039 SVN. I cannot put direct link - thanks Youtube!
I see some similarities to CATIA maybe? :) Sketcher mode, advanced constraints functions, background :p Are You following some patterns or is it my imagination? ;p
Anyway, I think You are doing a very good job developing this program. Keep it up!
AFAIK background and mouse navigation model is based on CATIA. I might be wrong, because I never use it:) You should ask developers (they're also CATIA, Pro/E, S/E users)...
I am only 17 and I used autocadd before it is a really nice program. I only got to use it because it was an elective I took in the 11th grade but it was eye opening at the skill it takes to do this... nice job though looks good
around 4:02 you select a face for pocket operation. On my system the faces are not selectable nor do they highlight. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

@slucas601
Go to Edit->Preferences->Sisplay->Color and make sure that options selection and preselection highlighting are checked.

The default measurement values appear to be metric, how do you change them to a standard form of measurement?
Thank you,
Joe

@outofcomms
Actually only metric values are supported.
salceson2 2 months ago
@salceson2 and metrics are standard, even in US and England nowdays. Not that many Americans and Englishmen seems to know that. :)

@outofcomms Metric is the international standard, adopted by virtually every country in the world.

I downloaded the most recent version of FreeCAD and it does not have the Grid on, and does not have the geometric contraints.
Where do I get the "actaula version of FreeCAD" from?
Thank you, the program is looking great, I have been waiting for something like this for years!
flyingpika 4 months ago
@flyingpika you need to install the newer (unstable) version of Freecad (try FreeCAD_0.12.5233)

How do you get the grid?
tinosnit 6 months ago
@tinosnit grid is default on. Be sure you have actaula version of FreeCAD
salceson2 6 months ago
@tinosnit If you download the default stable version (0.11) you won't get the grid. Uninstall 0.11 and download the FreeCAD_0.12.5233-RC version.

Thanks, this tutorial encouraged me to start draft some complex model.

Hmmm, this looks more like Inventor than AutoCad. I should go download it.
