What is so great about this fly-by-"swosh" sound?! The mic just cant capture enough of the sound. I guess, some viewers might then really think that "omg, the cars are going so fast that you can't even hear team" or something like that... lol. They should place the mics somewhere else in the spectator stands, that would be more natural sound

I dunno if this could work - similar to the onboard, but instead, have a microphone positioned near the exhaust pipe, i.e. where the engine noise is most prominant?

Agreed. That guy was a little extreme. But at the same time, I understand his want to keep NASCAR an American sport, as in, keep to its roots. I like guys like Ambrose and Montoya in there, but it would get ridiculous if the field was filled with foreigners, and Im still uneasy about Toyotas involvement if Im honest. Just look at English soccer - the top teams, despite being named after English towns, barely have a single English player in their teams. We don't want NASCAR to go the same way.

You do know you're an imigrant in your own country? Foreignor is a word you Americans don't use but abuse. Foreignors are just as much Americans as you guys are because you're either Europeans that couldn't make it, Asians that though the USA was better or freed slaves. If you want to see only Americans then that's what you want but if that becomes a NASCAR regulation you'll never know of better drivers. They are out there and coming your way.

And you're economy, you've killed worldwide economy. Think about that. In the end nine of nine Americans are non natives or descendants of those. And eight of them are hypocrites. Statisticaly the best driver is probably no American so why would you want to see a potentialy inferior product?
I am a true fan, but for a sport like NASCAR to survive it needs to grow...sure it's an american sport, but the fact that 130 countries watch it is a great thing

If they put a mic near the exhaust pipe it would probably melt the internal wiring of the mic. Remember, that's hot gas coming out of them pipes, lol
