  • I prefer Zappa's instrumental stuff esp this album. But my god, he was bloody gorgeous. Hard to believe it's nearly 20 years since we lost him

  • Thanks for posting this! Very nice, I miss ZAPPA!

  • Uncle Frank was the best!! can't wait to see Zappa plays Zappa in December in Brighton...some good pics here,cheers..Sophie

  • Sorry, but I believe the word you're searching for is "gawk". Nice vid, though. Very gawkable.

  • Great video

  • Those 2 people are deaf. His genius is produced by a Mp3 player at work!

  • 2 people saw this with the audio muted.

  • @bigshoesdrummingco In their defense, they could have just missed the "like" button.

  • gauck? don't you mean "gawk"?

  • his mom was italian and french and his dad was italian, greek and lebanese

  • i thought he was armenian

  • I saw Frank live with Flo and Eddie and I have to say it was the best concert I ever attended. It took days for me to come down. He was a genius. Sorely missed.

  • Thanks for putting this great video up. One of my favorite FZ songs and great collection of pictures too!Loved it.

  • If I had to pick just one Frank Zappa song. This is it. I can still remember hearing it for the first time and instantly falling in love with Frank Zappa's music. That was about 40 years ago.

  • frank zappa another italian genius

  • @fabiofaber Uhh... he was Greek.

  • @fabiofaber sorry zappa was of spainish descent not italian or greek

  • @bruinsman444

    sorry:

"His mother, Rose Marie (née Colimore), was of Italian and French descent, and his father, Francis Vincent Zappa, was a native of Partinico, Sicily and had Greek and Lebanese ancestry."

Both Italian and Greek, and not Spanish at all...

  • When I was a little kid, this track was my "Peter and the Wolf", so to speak. I loved it, and would imagine stories or scenes to go with the various sections.A very accessible track, yet very intricate, that can appeal to people who are into musicianship as well as others who will just like the melody, and to children as well...that's art! The cover really scared me though...:)

  • @dummytree I mean the "Hot Rats" album cover of course.

  • 1:07 is the best part :)

  • @musicgeek102 my fav part is 0:00-3:39

  • Classic Hot Rats --- tremendous Frank

  • One of my favourites

  • Frank's masterpiece......

  • this song just makes me so freaking happy. Such an amazing dude Zappa was.

  • A great tune, with what I would call a hit in the middle @ 2:18. Some mad arsed pictures showing the man had humour, quality indeed!

  • Yeah.....I just call it "abstract-fresh".

  • amazing!!!

  • I believe Ian Anderson of "JETHRO TULL" fame has been asked what kind of music he'd like to listen to on a Sunday morning and he said usually some old blues or Frank Zappa ! ! ! Howabout that! ! ! STONY

  • @stonybrookchief isn't Ian Anderson the singer from Yes?

  • @Kroxeldiphibic nahh jon anderson is, ian anderson is the vocalist and flute player of jethro tull

  • Good on ya @angusyoung98!!! Closest I can think of is if you ran Groucho Marx and Weather Report head on into each other in a super-collider!

Hmmmmm..... should we call it Frank Zappa???

    God, what a gifted man.

  • Genius at play!!!

  • Amazing to realize that this album came out in 1969... way ahead of its time.. and still.

  • aaah bless...

  • 90% of Zappa's stuff is ridiculous or a goof (like 200 Motels stuff etc..). However, the other 10% approaches genius many times - and, in this case, its undeniable genius. Once I sifted through everything, I assembled my own "best of " Zappa - some twenty songs. And its SO GOOD, it compares with my Beatle's and Hendrix "best of." He was one of a kind. Hot Rats is Zappa's most "realize" album - IMHO.

  • @PicnicHikeMusic

  • Amazing music,genious.

  • At a fine eating establishment called The Hula Hut in Austin, Texas, there is a waiter who looks exactly like Frank Zappa.

  • @omgwtfbbq34 Ask him if his name is Babe. If so, I know him, as he was the head waiter at a club in Seattle where I once worked.

  • It must be Frank Zappa

  • Baby makin' music (for people who intend to raise eccentric children, that is)

    Love this song!!!

  • Zappa...end of

  • The guitar part is just amazing

  • RIP

  • Corrr blimey governer...what a man..Grrrrrrr,,strange tastes I have lol...lovely collection of vids here+one of my fav Zappa tracks..cheers for this,I was decorating to this up the ladder before!!! ,,lol

  • many people says zappa is fusion/prog jazz o ther says that is progressive rock, but i say it unclassifiable!! zappa is unique!

  • @angusyoung98 spot on matey!

  • @angusyoung98 I think it would be easier to list the number of music styles Zappa didn't incorporate in his music, than styles that he did.

  • @angusyoung98 Soo true, soo unique but if you hade to sort him heed belong in some sort of progressive genre

  • Haha 1:18 I love him.

  • Mixing Jazz with rock, simply fantastic! Frank Zappa was the man.

  • This is a great video!

I have never seen any of these pictures before! great job!

  • thanks! do you have son of mr green genes? I can't find any original version of it on the tube.

  • How good is the bit were the guitar and flute play in unison, with Shuggie Otis` bass rumbling underneath.
