  • how the FUCK was 9:37 nota knockdown

  • @STATiSofVITALETHICS Ali slipped of Fraziers corner. It was said earlier in the fight that the floor of the ring was very wet in that corner.

  • @aaroncassidy7 i still think that left look like it rocked him a bit and he possibly couldve fell without the wetness in the corner, tough call for the ref

  • 9:37 that was a knockdown for sure!!

  • @tatojunco

    frazier lost this fight

  • These two guys went through hell together. Truly two of the best big men off all time in a day when the heavyweight title really was the most prestigious in all of sport.

  • Joe, if it were'nt for that damn hog chasin you down at home, your hurtin your left arm for life, you could have connected with a few more of those lefts', but your left arm would'nt stretch that far, rest in peace Joe,we love you.

  • we all loved you in Beaufort Joe, we knew full well what it was like living there, Tommyg, from BeaufortSC

  • Bloody hell! I have only seen Thrilla in Manilla, but this is amazing and perhaps even better.

Heavyweight boxing at its absolute best. 15 Rounds for free, none of this pay per view shit!

  • I;ve watched this fight over 200 times - based on rounds. which was the scoring ststem of the fight. I can't see how Ali didn''t win least 7 rounds - probably 8 and got a shitty score card - closest was 8-6-1. I think one judge had it 11-4! Fraziers rounds were bigger for Joe, but a round is a round and one could easily argue Ali should have won more rounds>

  • The last minute of Round 9 - Daaamn!!!

  • RIP BOX LEGEND JOE FRAZIER

  • Wow, he is still standing, almost falling to the ground, but he keeps his body up. Great fight!

  • Joe Frazier's aim should be "Rise and rise again until Lion(Ali) become Lamb." :p

  • 11:41 Beautiful Joe...just beautiful. RIP, a champ like no other Joe Frazier.

  • joes natural fight stance got his face pummeled by ali's jab. ali's height and joe kind of bent over the way he faught made it easy for muhammad to tag his ass repeatedly with that jab.

  • RIP Joe Frazier, Delivered one of the greatest fights of all time.

  • RIP,Joe. You were truly one of the best heavweight champs of all time.

  • WAW JOE WAS A HARD MAN, A TRUE CHAMP,RIP

  • RIP Joe

  • When an unstoppable force meets an unmovable object.Thank you Mr. Ali , R.I.P. Mr. Frazier

  • 2:10 JOE: COME ON ALI... LETS FIGHT !!

  • Grazie Grande Joe ! Pagine memorabili di uno sport ormai finito ! Che il cielo ti accolga ! Buon Viaggio ..... Tatodellamora

  • round 8 is the most funny round!!! its juzt so funny!!! What a nice fight!!!

  • Classic Ali strategy to wear his opponent out in the later rounds...

  • RIP Joe Frazier...

  • No matter how I look at this, the way Frazer is fighting in this match is just makes for more beautiful boxing.

  • RIPsmokin Joe what a legend...

  • THE ROUND IS ALMOST OVER!

  • R.I.P Joe. I cant believe this was 40 Years ago.

  • rest in peace Joe.

  • Frazier looked like he might have been on drugs?

  • how did these guys ever be able to take those shots they were throwing on each other, amazing

  • this fucking commentator stop sucking ali's balls

  • the only problem with frazier was he never knew how to finish a man. If he was a better finisher he would of finished Ali in round 11 in this fight and in manila.

  • Frazier gets round 8 easily. Ali looks exhausted and trying to rest. He got wasted in round 9, in Ali's biggest round. Round 10 was also easily Ali's. Frazier just took a beating again. Round 11 was Frazier's biggest round. Ali had no control of his legs. After 11, I have it 8-3 Ali, and don't see any round that could have gone either way.

  • :55-1:25 had that been mike tyson ali would have been knocked the fuck out

  • 1 and 9 are even 6,7,8,10,11 all belong to Joe. Ali took 2,3,4,5

  • @carlitoboxing7 1 was not even. Frazier hardly threw a punch and got tagged several times. Otherwise, good score

  • @carlitoboxing7 1 was not even. Frazier hardly threw a punch and got tagged several times. Otherwise, good score

  • Frazier actually pulled Ali off of the ropes! as to say come on man lets fight!

  • @examinfo great stuff from the good old days..

  • @examinfo yeah man u can get away with it back in the day... now the refs makes a big deal about it

  • @examinfo

    frazier lost this fight

  • Frazier is the reason that Ali is like he is...

  • Greatest Superfight of them all. Listen to sound of punches from both fighters. Im in Ali fan but no man could've beaten Joe Frazier on this night

  • @lakemagic1 Styles make fights. George Foreman will beat Frazier 100/100 times.

  • 1971 was great

  • Ali is a great boxer no doubt. But hell is he such an overrated much. Joe Frazier should have his own movie!

  • hell yeah that was a knock down

fuck all of u ali fans the greatest of my ass ali shoulb be diqualified at the second fite for grabing the neck all night and joe won the thrilla in manilla, he couldnt see and wanted to continue wile ali said to his corner to cut the gloves

ali is a great fighter but man frazier toughest all of u ali fans are just bunch of sheep, in the ali film with will smith they didnt want to add the thrilla in manilla coz they know frazier was da hero

    (forgive my english)

  • 1:12

    FUCK OFF FUCK OFF lol

  • wish boxing was still popular

  • @2:10 Frazier pulled Ali off the ropes lol..

  • I hate these assholes on here who say 'deal with it' cause Ali lost, deal with it? wtf is that supposed to mean, because we are showing a passion for a fighter we like, that lost a fight and to have some random dick tell you to deal with it? go fuck yourselfs. I mean Ali lost, sure, it dont effect my life. But to those assholes, next time your fav fighter or team or anything you like looses, fucking deal with it.

  • unbelievable to watch frazier who is as fit in the 11th round as he was in the first. that speed, that hand movement and the upper body movin up and down, maybe a 100000000 times. every other boxer would probably have died right on the spot.

  • Joe Frazier je operisan od tehnike ali kondicijelno dobar, glup, izdrzljiv i uporan. Takva kombinacija je jedan puta bila dovoljna za Alija i nijedan puta za Foremana!

  • Imagine Ali protected the left side of his face in this fight.......I doubt Frazier woud have come anywhere near winning.

  • i dont get how everyone's always saying frazier has a glass jaw when he took a battering from ali and just kept coming

  • @UncleRed1234567 those ppl who say that dont know alot about boxing

  • 5:30 till 6:10 best comeback ever by ALI

  • IDC wat anyone says from 11:20 to 12:35 takes heart...

  • AT 11:40 you can see the left hook to ali's body was what set up the next shot that almost had ali falling.

  • Round 8 Ali landed 27 punches Frazier landed 26 punches Round : Frazier

Round 9 Ali landed 58 punches Frazier landed 21 punches Round : Ali

Round 10 Ai landed 51 punches Frazier landed 26 punches Round : Ali

Round 11 Ali landed 31 punches Frazier landed 39 punches Round : Frazier

Ali has won 8 rounds so far while frazier has won 3

  • @324582782 Winning a round isn't about how many punches you land.... its also about how good the punches were.

  • @mjdoomreviews landing punches is a big part of scoring. Yes power does count but how can you give round to frazier when he threw only 20 punches with 3 power shots while Ali landed 50 good solid jabs?

As i said before i invite any one to show where i have made mistake and im willing to change my scoring but according to the current scoring Ali is the winner

  • @324582782 I totally agree, I totally had Ali winning this fight, I mean Frazier may have scored a few left hooks and worked his body, but Ali's overall workrate and punches landed, totally wins this fight.

  • How come we don't have such legendary heavyweight fights anymore?

  • 1:40 Ali looks confused rope a dope was meant to have the opponent swinging all he had Frazier seemed to be just counting his punches before unloading to the head.

  • whats one difference about this ali and the ali before the layoff is when he goes to punch its like he's in slow motion for 1/2 second before the punch is thrown in other words from the moment his brain says punch until he actually throws there is a split second delay.. has anyone else noticed this?

  • Can't help but wonder, what if they didn't take Ali's career away for those three "prime" years, he would have met Frazier around late '68 or '69 sometime. Ali would have been able to dance more, but even he has said that he couldn't take a big shot til he was older. Frazier's path would have been much different as well. Just wondering. Joe kicked his ass in the fight , beat him up good

  • @jd0109 Yahh, he may have gotten some punches... but muhammed ate those

  • I saw Joe's legs buckle in the ninth round after those Ali uppercuts, but his deep hatred of Muhammad kept Joe on his feet!!

  • whata great fight

  • I think Ali was playing possum during some of the time he was "hurt". I know he was hurt initially but when he staggered in to the ropes and then backed up like he was dazed and weary @ 12 : 25, I think he was trying to get Frazier to expose himself.

  • that stupid referee sticked his finger in frazier eye right at 7:43 thats why joe is looking over to his coach

  • I love it when Frazier pulls Ali off the ropes at 12:34. It's like he's saying "Quit horsing around and get out here and box!"

  • fuck hear that crowd when ali was stunned, that woulda burst my ear drums

  • That was a definite knockdown I like Dunphy's call better then Cosell who went overboard calling Ali going down in the 11th as a slip

  • 11:41 nearly a knockout, maybe standing count today!!!!

  • round 8 on the rope is weirdest thing i ever seen in history of boxing. wtf is this short high volume bs lol

  • I though Ali scored more punches

  • Ali sure took alot of avoidable and unnecessary punches in his time.

  • 11 round last minute!! OOOOMMMMGGGG!! I THINK ALI HAS BRAIN INJURIES CUZ THAT FIRST FIGHT....

  • 9:37 that was a knock down!!

  • 5:24 2 punches! 1 to the head and 1 to the body!! awww!! ali-frazier 1.. best fight ever

  • that was a knock down, you saw him go down from the punch, he didn't just trip

  • Joes Frazier is a tank and i preferred his attitude because Ali is a bit to cocky :D

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow look at their feet! it was not a knockdown!

  • @primeboxers I was too late after I posted it I saw there feet. I keep lookin at it and I feel like it was. Maybe cause I like Fraziers left hook so much .Lol

  • @primeboxers Ok now I seen it, My bad. Lol

  • @primeboxers Yeah look at Ali's feet. they said he slipped but his feet barely move. He just swats at air and goes down.

  • @primeboxers he was held up by the ropes, that was a KD.

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow

Absolutely correct...I don't know how Ali got away horsing around as he did in that 11th round...

unfortunately, looking back, Ali lost the fight from the 11th round onwards...Down the stretch...

  • @0808lion Yes, I agree. This fight reminded me of the 1983 New York marathon when British runner Geoff Smith built up a huge lead. However, New Zealand runner Rod Dixon gradually pulled back his lead and won the race in the later stages. Ali for me though was the greatest ever. People remember him for his skill, speed and ring-craft. What he's less remembered for is his unbelievable toughness. How the hell he survived that 11th round I'll never know!

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow no knockdown!!!

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow no thumbs up u douche ali was just staggered

  • @CrueFest411 Put your thumb up your ass bitch .

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow go blow joe frazier faggot

  • @CrueFest411 go blow brock lesner bitch

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow wtf does lesnar have to do with this? u angry little wuss. enough already just save it

  • @CrueFest411 im ridin you you dumb ass bitch. go blow the rock .

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow first lesnar now the rock lol wow

  • @CrueFest411 Yea its funny huh ? Lol

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow

    LOL!

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow A knockdown occurs when a boxer, after being hit by his opponent: 1) touches the ring floor with some part of his body other than the feet; 2) has any part of his body outside the ropes; 3) is hanging on the ropes helplessly; or 4) is judged to be in a semi-conscious state and unable to continue fighting.

  • @Gr33nNdY3llow ya u right, they thumbs u down but fuck them all ali fans are just sheeps

  • i laughed about some moment in this great fight at 2:07 :D :D just great - they was a friends in and still is!!

  • This was Joe's great fight. He could never get the conditioning and fitness to fight like this again

  • @BiffaBacon thrilla in manila?

  • @BiffaBacon

you now i see this fight more and more befor 5 years unite now

frazier in all that night was won only 3 rounds !! ali won 13 rounds

    frazier lost this fight

but mack him won becouse ali muslims

  • @bethoveenzeyad Dreamer, Ali lost because Frazier was better than him on the night.

  • @ragers66

yes ali lost i agree with you , he lost only 3 rounds

and frazier lost 12 or 13 rounds

    all the world know that

  • @bethoveenzeyad Sorry to break the news....but you're not all the world. Ali lost fair & square....handle it!

  • @ragers66

yes all the world and ( you ) know that

ali now side frazier beat me in first fight becous they becom frind

however ali kill him 2 time after that

    im very sad for you

  • @bethoveenzeyad No, not the world.....just you because you don't know boxing.

You're wasting sadness on a figment of your imagination....now wake up & smell the coffee! Ali lost this fight, believe it. It wasn't because he was a muslim or that the white establishment hated his guts. It was because Frazier pummelled his sorry arse more than he pummelled his....believe it.

Ali won the 2nd clear enough...the 3rd because he survived the heat better than a blind Frazier. All were close.

  • @ragers66

will can you tell me witch rounds frazier won in this fight ???? if you can write pleas

frazier pummelled !! thats why frazier face so badly he near to lost his 2 eyes and blood all his face

    and ali very clean face

  • @bethoveenzeyad Frazier broke Ali's jaw and he had to spend time recuperating in hospital. Also Frazier won rounds 6,7,8,11,12,13,15 with a knockdown, keep in mind round 10 was even and through the fight frazier landed the harder punches AND got a knockdown yh he very legitimately won the fight.

  • @kenomy66

in round 13 frazier get ( big loos ) not normal lost

ali more nice punch and throw in frazier face in round 13 and frazir punch to the

ali body all block and block and block and block , look last mint round 10 all frazier punch block and block and block and block ali won clear in 10

    rounds 8 and 12 even ( or ali won ) frazier won only clear 6 , 11 , 15 thats it

maby 7 , will about ali jaw broken !! ( frazier all his face broken ) and ali not out in that punch

    so what ??!!

  • @bethoveenzeyad You dont know what the hell you're watching, its clear to all those who now boxing that Frazier won those rounds and the fight. Ali didnt win "clear" in round 10 at all. Youre just biased in favour of him

  • @kenomy66

ok let your lettel brother or any littel boy see round 10 and 13 then ask him whos win

he will answer ali won in 10 and 13 clear

    forget this fight

i want to ask you about last juge he give frazier ( 11 rounds won ) !!! this juge josh ?? or he watch

china fight not boxing ?? or what ??

  • @bethoveenzeyad frazier didnt win that many rounds but he won most rounds, theres no way ali won round 10 that was even and i dont know where this "block" thing ur talking bout comes from, ali didnt block punches. and he clealy lost rd 11 frazier landed harder punches and was aggressor

  • when Ali hits back this is a fun fight but he just seems like he can't be bothered to fight, all he wants to do is clinch

  • @liljoerox He's tired, that's why he was clinching & clowning. Only a boxer like Ali could do that & get away with it.

Joe tired him out by relentlessly pressuring him....he ate lots of punches doing it but tired Ali right out and landed the bulk of the hard punches and a mountain of body punches.

  • Everybody is talking about "dance like a butterfly and sting like a bee" when old Ali Fights are showing. But have you seen in this fight ,what this man was able to took, without went really down. Amazing!! Anybody else had lost this fight by TKO! ALI is the greatest Champ ever standing in the ring even when he lost!!! Greetings from Germany

  • 3:10 hahahah lol

    Angelo Balzano

  • ROFL did you see that? Frazier was like F that grabs Ali's gloves and pulls him away from the ropes? haha FTW!

  • @jookiyaya Yeah, yeah....that was awesome. What a warrior! Ali too, he had no choice because Joe just wouldn't relent!

What a great era in boxing.

  • Ali did not do his cardio.

  • god damnn ali was rocked in the 11th!!

great upload i had been looking for this fight in this past and only the last two fights were on youtube

  • @Nemesis2151 yeah, I searched for it too, and was very surprised that this one wasn't uploaded. So when I finally found a copy of it, I uploaded it. :D

  • hard work is how he won.

  • 5:47-6:03 , what a Rally by Ali !

  • MUHAMMAD ALI IS THE MOST COMPASSIONATE FIGHTER

    EVER PERIOD

NOTE:. NEXT TO SUGAR RAY ROBINSON WHO ACTUALLY KILLED SOMEONE IN THE RING

SO HE WAS KINDA SCARED TO PUNCH HIS COMBOS THAT WERE KILLA COBO

    CAME FROM

  • JOE FRAZIER WAS A GOV LAB EXPERIMENT OR SUM COCAIN THIS WAS BEEN MARKETED HERE

HAS NOT BEEN USED SINCE MARCIANO DAYS HEROIN COCAIN INDUSTRY BOOMED IN US IN THIS FIGHT THE GOVERNMENT CREATED THIS JOE FRAZIER

AND ALI KNEW IT SO HE WENT TOE TO TOE WITH IT

IT WAS A MACHINE NAMED JOE FRAZIER

AND THIS FIGHT ACTUALLY INSPIRED THE JAMES CAMZ THE MOVIE TERMINATOR 2

  • Eddie futch sent Frazier out with perfect tactics to beat Ali here! Futch used the same kind of tactics with norton when he fought him

  • Damn, imagine how it was to watch this fight. Nobody in the 11 years before, even Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson, could touch Ali and now you watch this frazier who beats the shit out of him.

  • love joe fraziers boxing style, too bad noone uses it anymore

  • Anyone that thinks Ali should of won knows very little about how descions are made.

  • @salsero2004 I know, you're exactly right! I despair about some of the comments here.

  • so far, I got ali ahead by two but fraizer coming on.

  • Gotta say that slip looked like a knock down to me

  • @DaNnYnlufc look at their feet!

  • If you look closely, it did look like Ali tripped over Joe's foot as he staggered forward but it's easy to mistake it as a knockdown as it happens right after Frazier hits him with the left hook. Had Joe's foot not been there, Ali probably would have staggered a bit (like he did in round 11) but not gone down. A good call by Arthur Mercante.

  • @DaNnYnlufc If that looked like a knock down to you...then I want a hit of whatever your smoking...

  • @DaNnYnlufc Yeah You can Tell by Ali's Reaction-abit Stunned.

  • This is when shit got serious.

  • how the fuck did frazier get the decision. ali beat the shit outta him

  • @ichristian7575 no, the other way around...

  • @primeboxers

JOe out powered Ali but Ali defintely outcomboed him, close fight round by round for the most part.

  • @ichristian7575 Check out Round 15. That will answer your question.

  • @ichristian7575 Perhaps You Missed RD 11 & 15?

  • Poor Ali at 1:11 Someone get this Guy away from Me lol

    Frazier was Dominant.

  • what are you blind! Frazier whooped his ass!!

  • @musiclover3928 that's what he said. Frazier was dominant, that means he was dominating.... not dominated!

  • @SigfrigKargElert frazier had a reason. his health completely deteriorated. he had high blood pressure and diabetes. As well as severe athritic hands that had to get treatment for and his right eye was 95 percent blind. imagine frazier without all that.

  • @HiMyNameIsRoss Frazier ended up with all those problems as a result of this fight. I din't believe Joe's excuse about being thumbed in the eye by a sparring partner.

  • Cant wait for the last part!

  • Great video and quality. One of the greatest fights of all time.

  • Ali had a hard time hitting Frazier with a right uppercut but Foreman had him down several times with one, is that because Frazier's bob and weave in 1971 is better than 1973 or because Foreman throws a different uppercut than Ali?

  • @supersquid98 it is because he was better in '71, the fight with Ali really took alot out of Frazier.

Foreman once said this: "After beating Muhammad Ali, there was not much left of Joe Frazier. I'm gonna tell you, if I had fought him two years earlier, it would not have been like that."

I don't understand how he was able to pull the Thrilla in Manila out of his hat...

  • @primeboxers Pure fighting heart I think....that's all I can come up with. I remember the second fight too, another classic, Ali won that one and boxed beautifully but Frazier again pushed him to it.

Joe was a pretty seasoned fighter when he won the title, I do recall he was around when Liston, Williams and all those other top boxers of the sixties were at the top. He earned his shot for sure!

A great era in boxing! So glad to have been around to see it.

  • @supersquid98 great question. Think theres a few things @ play here. 1) fighters w/Frazier bulldog constant pressure style never really seem to have much success in their later years (e.g. Frazier, Tyson). Unlike "boxers" (e.g. Ali, Holmes). Not sure why, though I have some theories. Anyway, this was Frazier's prime. Best shape of his life. Its downhill from here. 2) Ali's/Frazier's styles compliment each others. They're a good match up. Foreman/Frazier? Not so much. Foreman is too overwhelming.

  • @SigfridKargElert I agree 100%, this is why marciano decided to retire, he could sense what was ahead and he didn't like it.

  • @SigfridKargElert

It's because being a pressure fighter is a lot harder then being a boxer, you alwways have to be in peak physical shape. Your constantly bobbing and weaving, and moving forward all while throwing lots of punches, as well as eating lots of punches too in some cases. Its really a fighting style designed for younger fighters.

  • @iiuh1 that's right, when a pressure fighter gets a little older he cannot do it aswell as he used to, frazier was burned out after 12 years, but a boxer like ali and holmes can go on for 20-30 years.

like you said; pressure fighting is only effective when you are young.

  • @iiuh1 Exactly, eating punches to get in and throw to the body is not a healthy way to fight. But boy, it's exciting to watch when someone like Joe does it so well. Against lesser fighters then Ali it's not so damaging but Ali was such an accurate puncher and had more then sufficient power to make Joe feel the accumulated weight of it all. Joe earnt his $2 million or so that night!

  • @supersquid98 Ali never threw a correct uppercut in his career. Eddie Futch knew it & wasn't concerned. Futch also saw a change in Frazier training for Foreman. He wasn't training hard in the usual Frazier mode. Frazier underestimated Foreman. So it was a bit of both to answer the question.
