Biggest ignorance is when somebody tars every when with the same brush without doing any research on the subject. Prejudice and hate would take us no where. Islam teaches nothing but peace, tolerance, patience, respect and rationality. If one wants to see these values in practice among Muslims, one should look at Ahmadiyya Community.
@IslamAhmadiya Umm no it doesn't. It's what causes Islamic women to be treated like property. It is why Israel is under attack constantly by Arab bigots. Jews are attacked in Sweden for supporting Israel by people from the region. These are not a peace loving people. Oh and my roommate was a Muslim and he had an totally unhappy arranged marriage with his wife and kept her home all day and never did anything with her. Islamic culture is a primitive one.
@MzBUZZKILINGTON What have the "Arab bigots" to do with Islam? Islam is based on the teachings of Quran and not on what some "Arab bigots" say or do. Please don't try to confuse religion with politics. As a Muslim I don't support Jews, Hindus, Christians, Buddists, Muslims so on and so forth because of my prejudices or preferences towards anyone. I look at the things with justice, and this is what my religion teaches me. If Islam is a "primitive culture", then Judaism is even more :) Watch link
@horsefeathers87 I agree that there are so called Muslims who exploit its name for their own vested and political agenda, but what Swiss have done is like tarring all Muslms with the same brush. I don't know if you have watched this video yet: /watch?v=lWVqtk_pkLI
@IslamAhmadiya the problem is not that muslim people are bad people it is that muslim people in majority dont condemn and take action against people who taint their name. why dont muslim people go out into the streets after a terrorist attack and burn down pictures of bin laden but when a cartoon is drawn everyone goes crazy this shows me that muslim people dont care about their name and support the deeds of mr. bin laden and his crooks that infact create the biggest damage to islam
@horsefeathers87 I can only say on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat (Community) in Islam that I follow. We have always openly rejected and condemned violence in the name of religion. We have never taken into streets to protests, we have always protested in peaceful manners by discussion and dialogue. You can check my channel and see how Ahmadiyya Muslims have always condemned expoitation of Islam in this manner. We are doing it since Promised Messiah came about 120 years ago.
@IslamAhmadiya i know after i talked with you i looked up ahmediya you seems to be good people as a group and i know of the prosecution that you are going through in pakistan. and i know for a fact that not all muslims are bad so may g-d keep you safe and prosperus becasue you are true believers of peace
@horsefeathers87 Lovely talking to you brother. You might have heard the recent barbaric killings of 3 Indonesian Ahmadiyya Muslims at the hands of extremist fanatic Mullahs. They were beaten/stoned to death for their faith. We present our sorrows and pains to Allah Almighty alone. We know that Allah is enough for those who persecute us for our faith. All true prophets and their communities have been persecuted in the past. We are not the first ones. Peace will prevail insha Allah (God willing).
@IslamAhmadiya insha Allah (God willing) may allah keep you and bless you and keep you safe. it is allways been a challange to bring truth into this world but one day the truth shall outshine the darkness g-d willing
allah subhnautalla blessed us to be such gr8 and true muslims who need not a minaret to perform their faith mashaalllah and i love u my swiss brothers and sister's if not yet then perhaps later on ur progeny may accept, i luv all those swiss brothers and sisteres who opposed this banning nevertheless mashallah!
Yes Terry Jones is a joke and a he wanted to commit a terrible act, but you Ahmadiyyahs are the same bunch of Kafirs (if not worse), who don't believe the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him as the last and final prophet. Where is the difference between burning the Quran and changing the religion of al-Islam.
@tajwarjan : If you look at the state of affairs now: Did it give more popularity to islam ? The opposite is true as it revealed the resentment of a large part of the population against islam - based on facts and not prejudice. Personnaly, I'm convinced that the voters, although concerned about the terrorism, primarly lashed against their own ruling class.....not fair I know...
@januk36 Dear, you are right in a way! But if we give a look to the 911 conspiracy aginst muslims, the result was more than one and half million new converts to Islam. By the grace of Almighty God (Allah), today we have white American Imams in U.S.A. God willing very soon a day will come in Swetzerland too.
@tajwarjan : Well, there is no 911 conspiracy. The terrorist were arabs, muslims and their action inspired by their interpretation of quran - whether it's the correct interpretation or wrong I will leave open for now. About the number of converts I question your source and 9/11 is hardly a grace of god. Especially if you take into account that it was a disgrace to all muslims in Europe that might have struggled with tbe harshness of being immigrants but not the discrimination of being a muslim.
@januk36 Brother, as a Muslim it concerns me more than anybody else that people use and abuse the name of Islam by acting in the most beastly ways and then associate these attrocities to Islam. So nonMuslims are not the only ones who feel concerned about the "rise" of this extremism in the name of Islam. Extremism however is to be found everywhere in every society and followers of religion. Those who have backed this unjust move to ban minarets have shown extremism in this way.
@IslamAhmadiya : You raise an important point - what's is legal is not necessarily just and fair. As far as minarets are concerned it hardly qualifies as extremism and the growing number of muslims will have he same democratic toolsYou don't need neither church tower not minaret to exercise your faith - on the countrary. The beginnings of both faith were quite modest in - how do you say - 'appearance'. Bye the way - Ahmadiya are hardly known in continental europe, which is a pity.
@januk36 The ban was only on mosques and not Christian churches or any other places of worship. You might think that one doesn't need minarets to exercise their faith, but the ban was only on Islamic places of worship. Minarets have always been a part of the mosques since the time of Holy Prophet of Islam, this is a traditional symbol that has an emotional value to all the Muslims. It is unfortunate that such a step was taken against the Muslims exclusively in the name of "freedom".
Most Immigrants and Swiss that are not MUSLIMS!!In Switzerland,ALL sponsored the Ban!They say The Minarites are a Symbol of POWER!!in the Territory,Non Muslim Immigrants and the Swiss, are only- QOuting the TURKISH Primeminister(Recep TAYYIP ERDOGAN,who many, times has Said"The Minerites are our ISLAMIC BAYONETS of POWER in the Country"
moose. If the Turkish Prime Minister has said something that stupid then how does he represent the worldwide Muslims? If you want to ban Islamic minarets then the justice demands that you ban minarets from all places of worships of all religions.
@m00se321 With all due respect for Switzerland and its people we have to be realistic, you cannot remove Minarets without not sparking reasonable anger thru the whole Europe.
I think the Swiss are not anti Islam but this they perceive as not Swiss culture and it's a secular opinion and not a religious issue as many European countries are trying to enforce secularism. The Churches in Switzerland are part of their culture in a secular way, not having much to do with religion. I am not justifying their action but I think this is the primary impetus for these actions.
In the U.S. it would be contrary, I think, to the libertarian values in our constitution and to enforce anything like this would hopefully fail in our court.
Brother crimthann, Whatever the case, the extremist parties survive on spreading fear of one thing or another. Increasing interest of westerners in Islam is threatening many. I have never perceived Swiss people as being anti-Islam before this voting. Far right religious and political parties have just exploited the already uncertain political environment. Such actions only can be detrminental to the peace of a society. I hope that common sense prevails.
Maybe it shows you how insecure they really are, whether it's in their own faith, or secularism or whatever the problem. But as for the Swiss, I think it's their culture - right or wrong. Nationalism? You think Europe would have enough of that old problem.
regardless I think if they were busy taking care of their own families and honoring God by being good parents and citizens then I don't see how they would have much time to worry about it... Islam is not a threat to my faith, these things are not for me to worry about - that I leave to God.
Extremist mostly miss the first commandment really.. I think so..
Brother crimthann, It is not just switzerland where the locals seem to have a problem with Muslims now. I live in England and I know this prejudice against Islam which was previously very much present but largely dorment is now to be seen almost everywhere in Europe. The way media and these extremists keep on targetting Islam in an extremely unfair way is certainly not just out of culture. I hope others can see like you as well that faith is a matter between God and man alone. Wassalam
"targetting Islam in an extremely unfair way is certainly not just out of culture."
I wonder what it is then Bilal? What I hear from Europeans is how they are so open minded and we Americans are so closed minded but now I see this is not the case. I wonder what it is they fear? When I go to a metropolitan city like New York I see people of all kinds of backgrounds that seem to get along fine and what is really neat is when the lights go out they become a community and help each other.
If I had any good advice to give perhaps your people should be looking to make some friends with others in England, perhaps Quakers, or even Catholics who have felt repression not a long while ago in the UK and elsewhere.. It's the same old thing of course.. and even if it is culture now vs. religion, or perhaps the new religion is secularism?? Either way a spade is a spade. At least your not a Jesuit and Cromwell is dead. A change is gonna come.
what ever you talk about, about a "politcal religios party" or a "religios party" its abut what your constitution is. If swiss shows them the world s neutral state then they should be nuetral. there is a different betwenn banning hitler nazis symbol and a religios symbol. The fear is just there becaus more and more european are converting to islam and the church is losing its power nothing else.
This is so obivously yet more of the non-stop Jewish orchestrated campaign against anything White and non-Jewish that resists their lust for complete control of the West. Disgusting.
Listen to how she leads the man, "Do you think they just want you to be invisible?"
Meanwhile Jews in Israel openly spit on Christians and there is NO Christian, non-Muslim immigration and representation in their countries - openly hypocritical.
Digusting Mafia-esque "ethics" and rationale. Evil.
pitbullexpress, The contineous negative campaigning against Islam is the work of extremists from different faiths and no faiths. It is not the work of people of one faith alone. People who have their vested economic and political interests would never like the true picture of Islam coming to light. They want Islam to somehow go into non-existance. They would do whatever is in their power to come up with new excuses to make people fearful of something that is in actuality nothing but peace.
"People who have their vested economic and political interests would never like the true picture of Islam coming to light."
Trust me in this, they wouldn't like the true picture of Christianity coming to light either. Ever since Christianity became the pet of the state in the west it was co opted just as Islam is too in some places like Iran. Politics and faith are strange bedfellows.
Brother crimthann, Thats very true. Actually I don't consider even a single "Islamic" country as Islamic at all. They only use and abuse the name of Islam wherever it suits them. When religion is mingled with politics by the corrupt politicians it can only be harmful. Wassalam
