Hi. Panharee. Nice to talk to you. Kohla = Korea? Yes, I understand Khmer when I read better than when I listen. I understood this song completely when I watched the karaoke video posted above. I started studying (only reading and writing) for about a year now. I dont have chance to practice talking yet. That is why I have hard time to understand when I listen.

Umhhh. Kohla !!! Interesting. Unfortunately I never heard of it. I searched thru minority groups in Thailand, laos and Cambodia, I didn't come across Kohla.The close K is Khmu, Keren, Kha. I'll try more.

Also I speak Laos fluently also very good in reading Laos. I am learning Cambodian by myself, using karaoke video, and a text written by a Western

professor. The way Cambodian written and pronounced is rather confusing and complicated. Especially AA (long) can be pronounced as aa or ea or o

yw. "doe ray me fa so la ti doe" basically do that vocally with going up a range/pitch as like climbing up the stairs...hold the doe at the end, the highest pitch, for a long while..then start again but go a pitch higher at doe in the beginning.
