Why does he always sound like he's throwing up when he's singing???? Come one dude, just sing and stop being a whinner!!! I think I need to call the waaaamulance!!!
This IS the same tune as the Franke and the Knockouts song, which is odd, b/c Jon didn't write this....and Jon poached Tico from Franke, I thought. Weird.
@MARIOFREAK821 In those years they wouldn't have had much to choose from for their performances. In '84 this album was their only release, by '85 they had this and 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit, so their choice for their repertoire was limited. I mean, they went 20 years without performing anything from the second album, but they could only do that with a massive back catalogue of material, which they didn't have in 1985. So they've avoided this track from as soon as they could.
@octoloverful From what I've heard, they didn't play it much because they never really liked the song, since they were forced to record it by the record company. It wasn't actually written by the band.
NOT one of the best Bon Jovi songs - the only studio recording that none of the band members had anything to do with writing - recorded as a contractual obligation.
@RCbeastly I believe this is a rewrite of Franke & the Knockouts "You Don't Want Me." The melody is exactly the same. The chorus is kind of a dead giveaway, too.

@MARIOFREAK821 In my opinion, the record company was right to force them to record this. It's my favorite Bon Jovi song.

@RCbeastly It isn't one of the best, but that doesn't mean it isn't good.
