Im on W.C.B in Edmonton since august 24,2011, I clear between $1500-$1600 dollars per cheque. W.C.B is giving me little over $900. Why would any gov`t official want to ruffle feathers when it could cause them grief? WCB had a surplus in 2007 of 22.7 million dollars and in 2008 they had a surplus of 38 million. Then the three railcars slammed into me and dragged me and the second car ran over my ankle and crushed it. 30 stitches around left eye, nose broke in at least four places, three teeth shattered, right collar bone broke in half, left shoulder shattered, left arm broke in half, large gash across middle of back, herniated disk at L4,L5, and S1, severely crushed right ankle plus more injuries.
Results = post concussion syndrome, not able to stand or walk for very long, unable to raise left arm, peroneal, axillary, and circumflex nerve damage. Paralyzed down right side, paralyzed in left shoulder. Chronic pain and depression. 30 years being abused when the WCB wrote company telling them I was totally disabled from employment. There is about 1% to 3% of fraud that is commited by individals. The rest are truly injured workers. 98% of the fraud is committed by companies and the WCB itself. But no one invesigates them. There really can be no fraud by injured workers. Medical evidence combined with knowing the job duties are what tells if you can do that job or not. It is a simple process made impossible by WCB. They make you appeal obvious disabilty. There is no justice for the injured worker.

In my experience, every single person who testifies in court proceedings is referred to as a "witness," regardless of what (or how much) they saw. In this case, somebody who was in a building when/where a hostage taking took place would be a "witness." I digress. The important thing is a quick and safe resolution to this situation. WCB organizations have plenty of money to battle and defeat injured workers. Often WCB's victims don't have a lot of education to know who they're dealing with. It's also about the golden rule. Those who have the gold (WCB) make the rules. It won't surprise me if we see more incidents like this in the future somewhere. Glad I'm self-employed.

There is about 1% to 3% of fraud that is commited by individals. The rest are truly injured workers. 98% of the fraud is committed by companies and the WCB itself. But no one invesigates them. There really can be no fraud by injured workers. Medical evidence combined with knowing the job duties are what tells if you can do that job or not. It is a simple process made impossible by WCB. They make you appeal obvious disabilty. There is no justice for the injured worker.

What this guy did wasn't right. But lets face it, WCB organizations are mean-spirited outfits more concerned with preserving finances than helping workers. It's a faceless bureaucracy that tests ones metal at a time when the worker is going through injury, illness and stress. They have little sympathy and will put a worker through hell to save a couple of bucks.

It takes about 2 to 5 years to murder an injured worker. At least 84% of all claimants have injuries that heal and they can go back to their jobs. About 10 to 15% have some residual disability but can still function at their jobs. About 3 to 5% have life altering disability that disables them from their professions and trades. These 3 to 5% are the most abused.The criminal appeals processes these 3 to 5% are subjected to causes their suicides and outbursts.

The Unions representing the WCB employees meet once a year. Every year they report that injured workers are being mistreated. This document was first produced at a meeting in P.E.I. and is known as the "Stanhope Document". It proves employees at the various WCB's in Canada are fully aware that injured workers in Canada are being mistreated. This mistreatment is reponsible for the pain and suffering and suicides and hostage takings and murders.

There are hundreds of suicides every year in Canada caused directly by the pychological and physical abuse of on injured workers in this country. Every so often, instead of suicide, a person attacks those that are tormentig them. In Manitoba a year or two ago 4 city blocks had to be evacuated because an abused medical patient had enough. In Newfoundland a man stabbed another to deathbecause he was being tortured. You will see much more because the WCB's are dysfunctional and criminal in nature.

As I understand it AISH is welfare. Welfare is taxpayer paid. WCB benefits are company paid and if you were injured on the job you are entitled to full compensation paid by the insurance company known as WCB. not welfare. That is substantially less and paid by the citizens of this country. This again proves the collusion between government and WCB's to force a person onto welfare. The taxpayer foots the bill and doesn't even know it. WAKE UP CANADA! Tens of thousands are in this situatiion.

They use that "Pre-existing condition" phrase a lot. They like to pretend that they're an American insurance company, but if you could get them into court they would find out that's being a real insurance company is not what it's cracked up to be. they would be sued into oblivion. Most of the claimants are Tradesmen, I'm sorry but after 20 or 30 yrs of working in extreme conditions your body wears out. I wonder how many people out there who work in offices consider that.

Interesting discussion here on what the word "witness" implies. In my experience, every single person who testifies in court proceedings is referred to as a "witness," regardless of what (or how much) they saw. In this case, somebody who was in a building when/where a hostage taking took place would be a "witness." I digress. The important thing is a quick and safe resolution to this situation. Here's hoping.
