Question: You can use an analog mixer with timecode, right? Or must it be digital? Also, I read once that for an audio interface for timecode with Traktor Scratch that you must use a Native Instruments interface. Is this true, or may I use my Tascam US-1800? And what type of interface should one use in a live situation? Please respond, please.

Yeah he's good but I'm just absolutely grossed out by his fucking awful posture. This is one reason why I'm a controllerist and not a turntableist, i just find that turntableists usually tend to have a relatively boring physical appearance, whereas I go absolutely nuts on stage. @electronicchronic Lowest base price would be around two grand. The turntables (look like Technics 1200s, maybe MK2s) will run at least $300 and up used. Traktor Scratch Pro 2 is $600 (hardware, software, and control vinyl). Not sure what mixer he's using, but that'll be a couple hundred more. Also, cartridges, needles, wires, and slipmats for $100 or so. With some frugal shopping and luck on eBay you could put together a similar setup for under a thousand. However, you still can't buy talent.

@CountD42 its a vestax 2 channel mixer which is about 500€ (almost $600)... this is what I always claim when it comes to DJing nowadays... its equipment... I don't say that these guys don't have any skills (in case its the complete opposite)... I just think its much more interesting when its analogue rather than digital tools... instruments in general are expensive as FUCK... If I could afford cubase or reason plus this equipment I'd rock so hard =)
