  • @ 4:51 She states the modular inverter can "...plug directly into the grid through our safety plug."

I expect that most electrical utilities will have strict requirements about backfeeding power into the grid and I would like to know how this product proposal would meet those requirements. Most utilities do not want their workers electrocuted by uncontrolled, unregistered power co-generation sources feeding into the grid.

It's interesting but I would need more information before investing.

  • I also wondered about the existence (or otherwise) of the required anti-islanding required by most utilities. Perhaps some differentiation of power via the inverter/plug to sense voltage drop from the grid side.

  • An interesting product idea though the claim (@ 2:10) that a $600 "...would power 6 rooms in your house..." seems a bit misleading. Power them to do what? Run the AC for each of those 6 rooms? Run the electric stove in one of those rooms? Run the plasma tv in one of those rooms? A sales pitch that does not provide testable numbers is just that, a sales pitch and as such I am skeptical of the claims. Watts per modular panel, in what light conditions is what will interest me in purchasing.
