I use both mac and pc, and pains me to see the ignorance here. Vista a failure as an OS (although i personally like it) and windows 7 is based on the same core! Why doesn't microsoft fix the basics before "redesigning the paint program" for windows 7. As for compatibility, i can run windows and mac software on my mac-mini SIMULTANEOUSLY. But then again i have to because some programs i use aren't available on mac. As for simple, lets see how long it takes you to even find the task manager.

koko, are you stupid or are you stupid haha, the athlon windsor cpu's run incredibly cool, i have an amd6000+, most x2's are overclocked right out of the box, thats why people think amd produces a lot of heat, i just got the 6000+X2 2 weeks ago, and it runs 29-34 celcius on IDLE, and 38-40 on load.
runs cooler then intel so AMD may not be as fast its faster since it runs cooler then intel, cuz heat slows down intel a lot. unless you are willing to spend money on an kick ass cooling system
its summer time here in OHIO and the temp outside goes to about 100*F (38*C) and when i am at school my windows are open and the my room get about 90*F (32*C) but my CPU and MOBO runs at about 30*C and 34*C. I am very happy with its performance, from start till running firefox is under 40 secs. CS2 loads up in a snap. no complains from me yet.. and also to add I have the quiet fan mode on which means the RMP is half of what its at regular.

i squeezed in a good amount of cooler paste between the CPU and the heat sync .. and seems like it runs any where from 24 degrees up to 31 degrees (mobo and cpu).
Intake of the air is from side and one fan in back, and the power supply has the exhaust (its running three fans)
Professional graphic artists and video editors use Macs because they clearly know nothing about computers HURRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
So much Mac hate.

You are maybe thinking of Prescotts - they run very hot!
However Core 2 Duo is much much cooler - idles at about 38-40 with the stock cooler aand can also be overclocked very easily.
You made a mistake with your CPU chice, but that Athlon is not too bad, however you would've been better off with an OC'd 6320 or something...
