sorry you had to give her up in the end but this is why we tell people igs need a vet check up every year & they are very expensive to own about $1500 a year & twice that if they get sick, glad you got her some help even if u had to give her up its hard cause igs get very attached to their owners, check out my ig videos sometime i have many care videos and funny videos :)
you'll see the signs. She had mouth rot so she wasn't eating or drinking, was getting sluggish, and you could see it devolping around her mouth. Type in your iguana's symptoms online and tons of info will come up on what it has.
@happygolucky18 that could be from not giving her soft enough food cause if there always eating hard foods that aren't fine enough it causes there gums to bleed
she was doing great after getting it removed for about two and a half years! but i just gave her away a few days ago to a vet. edward got really sick with mouth rot, and had an upper respitory infection and had some other stuff wrong with her that just came on all of a sudden. :( i couldn't treat her at home, couldn't afford a vet, or a payment plan to take her to the vet. A friend of mine found a lady that would take good care of her, and she's a vet. she sent pics & eddie is getting better! :)
If you look at the beginning of the video you'll see the really big black lump on her mouth. when it first started it wasn't to bad, but then it got blacker and blacker and it started oozing stuff. (yuck) what first caught my eye (before it got all black and nasty) was that she wasn't eating. i mean she'd eat just a little, but not as much as she needed to. so eventually once i had enough money i took her to the vet. (that was about 2 years ago) It was around $75 for the doctors visit, $15
(continued) around $15 for the checkup, and it was free to have the stitches removed. i she was on anti-biotics for about 4 to 6 weeks. (have you ever given a sick iguana meds? not fun, and very hard!) it was a lot of hard work, but well worth it! :) Is your iguana sick?
The bit were his little face was poking out of the box brought tears to my eyes!!! I have a beardie called Pan and she's the most adorable little thing ever! X
yeah she is A LOT better! i don't have her right now, 'cause the place requires a $300 pet deposit, so a friend is keeping her for me until i get the money. :)
Omg i cant beieve D(I guess you didnt want to put his whole name on there!) made this!!!! Thats so cool. I couldnt have hoped to do that when i was his age!!! LoL!!!! its so cute when she was like hanging on to you!!!! Shes pretty!!! I haveeeee to come see her some time!!!

Well mine is 9 and I have NEVER spent that much a year on her except when she was eggbound and I had her spayed which cost $1700.

@Samimiamiv1 I never gave her anything she couldn't eat. She's now lives with a vet who was able to nurse her back to health so she's happy.
