@razbegan did it say something like backdoor.tdss.5544 and under that it said win32/bootkit and gave u an option 2 replace, please reply back as soon as possible
I had this proplem for 2 weeks. I found Hitman pro 3.5 for a 30 day trial. Scaned it and found a rootkit virus and got rid of it. google it. When you google it download it from CNET that one is safe. You have to right click the CNET link and click OPEN IN NEW WINDO. Thank will take you to a new windo with the Hitman pro 3.5 by CNET. I hope that works cause it did for me
I agree with Raz. I installed and ran Malwarebytes + Stopsign threat scanner + SuperAntispyware + Hitman pro 3.5 (I was able to download Hitman from CNET and finally fix my Google Redirect issues).
They key is to get your computer restarted for registry changes to take effect!
(Warning this may not work: please keep copies of the flies you change (i will not be responsible for damage)) anyway if you go into you host files (C:Windows/syestem32/drivers/etc) you will see a file called Hosts copy the file into a secure destination then go back to the original and open it as a notepad document and if you see (::1 localhost) at the bottom of the page delete it then save the file.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware worked for me. I tried it and am now taken to the sites I click on.
It's very peculiar, though; the malwarebytes website wouldn't work for me. Internet Explorer either couldn't find the page or it would say that it was an invalid address, so I ended up torrenting it (just search MBAM). After the download, scan, and removal of the infected files, the website suddenly worked.
I had this and sucessfully removed it by getting malwarebytes anti malware, running a FULL system scan, because it even infected flash drives, I also downloaded COMBOFIX from bleepingcomputer forums, and after numerous scans with antimalware, in safemode and etc, my computer is back to normal :D
Oh and i almost forgot, i downloaded a program called CCLEANER i use it every day, it deletes old cache and history of web browsing, finds registry errors, and it has a thing where you can permenatly...
Delete all of the startup entrys that you do not want, which you cannot do in windows software, and some of the rouge programs will not allow such windows apps to even open :O
I had this, but I never found out what, or where it was. It was funny and annoying at the same time, I went to Youtube, it took me to shopping websites, I searched for cats, it took me to (fake) antivirus sites...It only did this in FireFox and IE though, oddly AOL was not affected....
@cuplajsu throwing him/her in the grand canyon is too merciful they should throw hot boiling oil in his face, tie hie body on ass and let his feet drag on the floor till nothing is left but bone, whip him till he cant scream no more then drench his arms only with gasoline and set him on fire lets him slowly and painfully !!!!!!!!
I have tryed to follow what you guys said but my compter seems no tto have the 'tdssserv.sys' program, is it truly named it, is it an abrievation, I really Need help please
i had that prob and disabling "tdssserv.sys" worked. now i have anouther redirecting viris that doing this changes nothing. it dose not redirect when i only click a link but the if i read under the link it has marketing and viris scanning link destinations! Any suggestions on how to fix this, i have done countless spywere scans and AVG?
AFTER 3 WEEKS i found a solution which was posted on a forum, im well happy!!! u have to go to control panel, system, hardware, device manager, click on show hidden devices, and go to non plug and play drivers and disable 'tdssserv.sys', restart the comp and YAY its fixed, hope it dusnt come back..

If this works then well done if it doesnt then replace the file with the copy

i had ::1 localhost and i dont know wether or not to delete it :S because i have a bad history with computer =]
maulmeplease 2 years ago
@maulmeplease
that is why you copy and save the contents of the " Hosts " file and paste them into notepad , as a back up .
