this looks nothing like the inside that we saw in the original movie. The interiors of 2 and 3 were filmed on a soundstage in Mexico, but i was always under the impression that part 1 was filmed in the actual house.

Correct. It's not 112 Ocean Avenue, it's just the house used in some the movies (sets were used for interiors, obviously). It's not haunted. But then, neither is 112 Ocean Avenue. It was a fiction, invented "over several bottles of wine" with the Lutz's lawyer, William Weber. People have lived in the real house since without incident.
This is a beautiful house, but its haunted, who would buy this house, knowing many people have died in that house, and dead souls are living around that house, whoever live in that house is crazy, souls are lurking to see whos going to move in there, to course more death.
