Simply deny Maddin because there's an effort needed to understand his works? And then some guys appear thinking they can record random stuff? Ok, they are making a parody of their own ignorance. It's such a standard way to show that people are stuck in their own misery, not able to distinguish between the literal and the symbolical.
And this type of parody (looking in the mirror asking "who am I?", etc) has been done a million times already. As soon as Ingmar Bergman's "Persona" was released these kinds of parodies have been cranked out.
Not like Maddin at all. I guess other than it being in black and white, which he's known to do. Didn't like it. I'm all for making fun of pretentious "art films" but I think Maddin rises above them and this parody.
