Personally, this is my favorite Castlevania Game because one: It had Symphony of the night's Open-ended Castle BUT, and this is a big one none of the games were able to get until Order of Ecclesia which ironically, is my second favorite Castlevania game, It was HARD! It had Difficulty! Seriously, harmony of Dissonance was so easy I couldn't even finish it. I guess I'm biased because the first Castlevania game I ever played was Super Castlevania 4.

In my opinion, this is the best version of Sinking Old Sanctuary. Better than SotN, better than HD's version of the SotN version, better than Bloodlines and LoD.

Sinking old Sanctuary is diferent from Lost Painting.

@BluelightSpike They are indeed different, but if you listen, you can tell that Lost Painting is a very heavy derivation of Sinking Old Sanctuary. First time I heard it in HD (hadn't played CotM before SotN), I immediately recognized it.

If I am wrong, then they still have extraordinarily similar progression and it might as well be Sinking Old Sanctuary.

Would go with the simmilar progression, since Sinking Old Sanctuary has a lonely-ish tone metric, while Lost Painting has a rather sad, melancolic evolution to it.

Both are awesome, yes.. And i know "Lonely", "Sad" and "Melancolic" is a common denominator for Castlevania music. xD

@tcesar I did that with the Observation Tower. Just flew up there once in a while to listen to the music, same with the Underground Gallery. The game had some kickass music for being on the GBA. My favorite Castlevania game to this day, even above Symphony of the Night.

The few people I know who hated it blame how dark the whole game was, which I can understand being very annoying if you were playing on the regular GBA and not the SP. Any other reasons though? I thought it was an excellent game, one of my favorites to this day actually.

@DonAgalloch Well, this game lacks alot of potions, the enemies are quite hard, the boss battles are too annoying(Except for the first few ones you encounter), & the controls are kinda stiffy for some reason. But i don't blame this game being too dark.

I can;t stress how much I love the fact that the bass is beefed up in the music of this game. Gives it a more powerful presence.

True that! The super-powerful bass is the reason why I prefer this version over Bloodlines and Legacy of Darkness ones.

The bass just gives it that extra "oomph," and considering the fact that it's on GBA; well, that's just pure win!

it was released first on bloodlines remember bloodlines was released on 1994 then circle of the moon was released on 2001 or 2002 i think so it was released first on bloodlines then on legacy of darkness and later on circle of the moon
