  • the conductor is admiral ackbar form star wars..isnt he?

  • 1:14 Manny Pacquiao really IS multi-talented!

  • I love how all of the violinists use EXACTLY the same amount of bow. Amazing.

  • wow i like this better than other versions

  • Brilliant!!! amazingly synchronized and powerful rendering ... way more enjoyable than most of the other postings of this piece ,,,, specially Karajan's

  • what an awesome little guy is that conductor:P he reminds me somewhat of a gnome

  • hooray for the all female cello section 8D!

  • @MahlerTitan I've listened to rather a lot of recordings of this piece and the section at 4:40 is like that in every one of them. Now this means it is meant to be like this or it means that its a really bad bit for the 'cellos and they almost always get it wrong.

  • Lovely!

  • my god that performance was just terrible...

  • two of the players are asian. you can tell.

  • @phallyvin noooooo rly?

i thought all of the players was XD

  • Solists: A+

    Tempo: C

    Conductor: D

    Synchro: F

  • Offer another version, surely that's a better "counter measure" right? Plus, I would like to hear a better version!

  • @RickNickTick

Your criticism is a bit strong.

For a slow tempo rubato conductor/orch it was really very good.

I like the way the girls dressed uniformly. Take note western #!@&s. (Nice emerald color too.)

  • Lim was one of the best conductors in romanticism & nationalism music in my opinion, and one of the worst in classical period music. You should listen to his recording of Tchaikovsky's symphonies with Russian National Orchestra, it's one of the best recordings.

  • frankly I personally thought this performance was a pretty good one. The conductor chose to do some stuff that seems not to have recieved fond welcoming amongst some viewers, but then again its his choice. Whether that comes from his own thoughts on the background of the piece, or evident cultural differences, i'm not too sure. aside from that on the whole it was quite pleasant to listen to and the tempo modifications added a new texture to the piece.

  • That was absolutely SUPERB!!

  • @enoch6977 Right on brother. Needs more bass tho. Peace 11

  • There isn't really anything good or bad about this performance, it's either extremely interesting or "incredibly bad" as one poster says. Not too well put together though, there are stuff conductors did i simply don't understand, like the sudden change of tempo in a few places, which completely severed a few passages, why? Beethoven didn't write it, i checked the score too!

  • Let me just point one spot to prove my case, around 4:40, the lower strings (cellos) should be stating the main theme, but someone must have messed up in there, you can clearly hear a rather "scrambled" highly disorganized main theme.

  • yeah but to the modern ear it works very well . . .

  • my ears are too old then!

  • what the hell is the modern ear? :P obviously you like the changes in tempo, but that doesn't mean that someone who doesnt like the changes isn't modern enough. Fact is that this conductor chose not to follow the original transcript, and you can like it or not, and thats all!

  • i am no classical aficionado, but i would say that you're right in the sense that tempo changes could loosely be defined as 'unnatural'. it takes a very particular skill to bridge the gaps and make it work...but yeah, ears are ears

  • Horrible playing...simply incredibly bad.

  • Excuse me Miss Trumpet =.="

  • Es admirable ver lo jóvenes que son los músicos: Las chicas del oboe y el clarinete lo hacen tan perfecto que obliga a repetirlo muchas veces. Grandiosa interpretación!!!

  • I like the performance. Many orchestras take the "Siegssymphonie" at the end too fast and manage to trivialize it. I believe it's marked Prestissimo, but this performance convinces me that that shouldn't be taken too literally.

  • i heard it at the music lesson and it made me...fascinated. it's great..soo emotional

  • 임극창 선생님 화이팅!!

  • It is very good!

  • it's my favorite piece of Beethoven! 5+ and moree!!! LOVE IT!

  • Wonderful piece... I love Goethe and Beethoven.
