I did listen to the oral arguments. Taitz made the bizarre statement that Alan Keyes had "unique standing" because he also ran against Obama for Senate. However, that wasn't the question the judges were asking; they wanted to know how a candidate has special standing AFTER the election. Neither Taitz nor Kreep had any answer (because there is none).
I have 16 years experience in technology, and my opinion is that whoever made the copy onto safety paper can't work their scanner properly. PEBCAK!!!!!
He didn't address two issues in the video that I see. In the 9 layers the first two looked empty. Further examinations shows the 2nd "empty layer actually has some info that was changed to white. You can see this by creating a blue box and moving it on top. As far as I know a human had to have done this. It is not a result of optimization. The last layer shows the document cropped. This also had to have been done by a human. As he did not address those two issues I thought I'd bring them up.

They wouldn't do that to a fake unless they were all in on it, and then no reason to dink with the PDF. Obama's records of birth are on file in the state of Hawaii. I seriously doubt that many citizens can provide a more detailed record than that. That on-file Birth record is the LEGAL record.
Show me your long form Certificate of Live Birth? I'll bet you can't. These original hospital documents are extremely rare & hard to find. Hospitals, even if they do have the document, do not usually release them.
To get a LEGAL Birth Certificate, you contact the county in which you were born, and they send out a printed document based on the records they have on file. The Long form is submitted to the county, and that produces the county record. The Long Form is usually not kept.

I have Adobe Acrobat 9. When I scan a document to PDF, what Acrobat does is to recognize the background and separate it. This is stored in a more lossy format. Text and lines are either stored in a less-lossy form or they are turned into structured graphics. The Obama long form has three graphic layers, comprised of the background, the bulk of the form and Alvin Onaka's signature stamp. There are additional structured graphic layers of text.

Read the US Passport application requirements for a birth certificate to prove citizenship. There MUST be a raised stamp form the issuing agency present, period! if the original was supposedly done when he was born in 1961, then why does it's safety paper almost seamlessly match the paper the copy is printed on in 2011

Obama released the official Hawaii birth certificate, with its raised seal, three years ago. The long form is a historic document which is not used anymore. If you were born in HI, you'd use the short form to get a passport or whatever.

Um, nope, sorry, that was a certificate of live birth, and had very limited information, and it did not have the raised seal, it had an ink stamp which is easily counterfeited; that is why the requirement is for a raised/embossed seal to apply for a US passport.

Look under section 3 on that page in my other reply, that is from the federal governments own website, and specifically says that it must be a raised embossed seal, which is NOT a printed seal. @TheEllipsis731 When congress passed resolution 511 back in 2008 to declare that John McCain was natural born, it also affirmed the official definition of "natural born" which states that you must be born in the U.S. AND both of your parents must be U.S. citizens. So, if Obama's long form BC is genuine, then we now know for a fact that Obama is NOT a natural born citizen because the BC says that one of his parents was not an American.

@yaahme It has already been established that they had to jump through a few hoops to get a special legal exception to get a photocopy of the original long-form document. The short form is the standard issue Hawaii certificate that is legally valid for all purposes in all States.

I did listen to the oral arguments. Taitz made the bizarre statement that Alan Keyes had "unique standing" because he also ran against Obama for Senate. However, that wasn't the question the judges were asking; they wanted to know how a candidate has special standing AFTER the election. Neither Taitz nor Kreep had any answer (because there is none).

He didn't address two issues in the video that I see. In the 9 layers the first two looked empty. Further examinations shows the 2nd "empty layer actually has some info that was changed to white. You can see this by creating a blue box and moving it on top. As far as I know a human had to have done this. It is not a result of optimization. The last layer shows the document cropped. This also had to have been done by a human. As he did not address those two issues I thought I'd bring them up.

This is what I would call straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. The Hawaii Health Department Web site now links to the White House birth certificate PDF image. They wouldn't do that to a fake unless they were all in on it, and then no reason to dink with the PDF. Looking at these PDF creation artifacts is a desperate attempt to keep the birth certificate issue alive.

Frank Marshall Davis could be Obama's actual father. He looks like him, he was the mentor Obama wrote about in "Dreams of My Father". The only "dreams" he spoke about were of Davis, not Obama, sr. Obama strongly resembles Davis. It does not rule out that Obama was actually born in Kenya as Obama's mother looked to be a wife to another black man to cover that Davis made her pregnant. Davis was an American citizen, so was Ann. Both were communists. DNA test could settle it, Davis has a living son.

It's fairly straightforward. If you only trust cranks, you will have crank views. If you trust mainstream sources, you will have mainstream views. A little independent research and critical thinking with an open mind will readily determine which is true. Birthers, in my experience, are easy prey to cons.

Stanley Ann was not around to register the birth, she didn't give birth in a hospital in Hawaii or there would be no need for Madeline to have registered anything. This is what generated the notices in the paper. Where was Ann? Mama Sarah said she was in Kenya. But that does not mean Obama, sr. is the sperm donor. DNA will answer it from his half brother.

The extension of what I have just said is that the department of record in the Honolulu county has receiver thousands of requests for Obama's birth record, and they have sent out thousands of copies. This is pretty much the best any citizen can provide, including George W Bush. Let's see his Long Form.
Obama's records of birth are on file in the state of Hawaii. I seriously doubt that many citizens can provide a more detailed record than that. That on-file Birth record is the LEGAL record.

Show me your long form Certificate of Live Birth? I'll bet you can't. These original hospital documents are extremely rare & hard to find. Hospitals, even if they do have the document, do not usually release them.
To get a LEGAL Birth Certificate, you contact the county in which you were born, and they send out a printed document based on the records they have on file. The Long form is submitted to the county, and that produces the county record. The Long Form is usually not kept.

1. You can't have layers with different resolutions. Anyone who uses Adobe knows this.
2. if you were given a paper document, any layers are merged. There is no way to know from a paper document what layers it might have had at one time.
3. Copies posted online are resized to make them small so they can load on the internet quickly. When images are resized that's when the white stuff around letters appears. What's important here is that the white stuff is uniform.
4. Birthers are nuts.

@ppsimmons Believe the evidence not the expert; even Einstein was peer-reviewed. That the text was "enhanced" seems likely. That "someone" (rather than, say, a computer algorithm) did it is an interpretation that goes beyond the evidence presented.
Claiming that, the expert's own preference for the "enhancement" theory notwithstanding, nothing has proven content WASN'T changed is just grasping at straws. As the saying goes, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

I have Adobe Acrobat 9. When I scan a document to PDF, what Acrobat does is to recognize the background and separate it. This is stored in a more lossy format. Text and lines are either stored in a less-lossy form or they are turned into structured graphics. The Obama long form has three graphic layers, comprised of the background, the bulk of the form and Alvin Onaka's signature stamp. There are additional structured graphic layers of text.

changed or not, does not matter, there is NO state registrar seal stamped on that copy, which means it is NOT a certified copy, which means it is not acceptable proof of anything. Read the US Passport application requirements for a birth certificate to prove citizenship. There MUST be a raised stamp form the issuing agency present, period! if the original was supposedly done when he was born in 1961, then why does it's safety paper almost seamlessly match the paper the copy is printed on in 2011

Obama released the official Hawaii birth certificate, with its raised seal, three years ago. The long form is a historic document which is not used anymore. If you were born in HI, you'd use the short form to get a passport or whatever.

Um, nope, sorry, that was a certificate of live birth, and had very limited information, and it did not have the raised seal, it had an ink stamp which is easily counterfeited; that is why the requirement is for a raised/embossed seal to apply for a US passport.

Look under section 3 on that page in my other reply, that is from the federal governments own website, and specifically says that it must be a raised embossed seal, which is NOT a printed seal. Further it MUST contain certain information that would not be on a "short form". I have the B/C card which is the same as "short form" all I could ddo with that is register for classes, they would NOT accept it for the passport app. I have to order my LONG FORM from my state of birth.

@mistergarth This is getting off topic a bit... the main point I was trying to make is that since neither copy of his birth certificate have the raised stamp, the originality/authenticity is questionable, that is the point I was trying to make.
Long form / short form does not matter since neither is acceptable without the stamp. That is all that needs to be said.
If the certificate does not meet the "certified" requirements I do not accept it as proof of his eligibility.

@TheEllipsis731 When congress passed resolution 511 back in 2008 to declare that John McCain was natural born, it also affirmed the official definition of "natural born" which states that you must be born in the U.S. AND both of your parents must be U.S. citizens. So, if Obama's long form BC is genuine, then we now know for a fact that Obama is NOT a natural born citizen because the BC says that one of his parents was not an American.

The point is - the document is not an "untouched" document. Now we are only left to wonder - "What DID they touch?" THAT, my friend, is what the man and the video SAYS. Hope this helps.

The online BHO BC is not in layers. When opened in Illustator, you can view groups within the one and only layer. The groups are created by the software optimizing the scanned image for display on the web.

Draw what conclusions you will, the fact remains that Obama's LEGAL birth records are on file at the court house in Hawaii. That LEGAL ON FILE Document, is the OFFICIAL LEGAL document that nearly every American provides to prove his place of birth.

I'm a graphic designer and you are wrong. The layering happens as a result of optimizing while creating the PDF. This is done by Acrobat Pro to reduce file size for online downloads. The separation of the background and the vector text are simply a part or creating a smaller file size.

On a brighter side, depending on your views...It does appear as though Ron Paul will run in 2012. @yaahme It has already been established that they had to jump through a few hoops to get a special legal exception to get a photocopy of the original long-form document. The short form is the standard issue Hawaii certificate that is legally valid for all purposes in all States.
