He does make references to his supposedly former religious beliefs and a passing reference to pagan religions, but they all are nonetheless religious and thus are related to the topic at hand.

It's as Paul mentioned that faith comes from being informed of God and the scripture furnishes a frame of reference for that. If we had the right faith, we could own the gas and electric companies and charge affordable prices, we could own housing and charge minimal rents, we could hire a work force at a living wage; we could become stewards.

It's very easy to look at anything that we cant explain and say just "God did it", or even the devil for that matter...kind of the easy way out IMO. To the theists credit though, science will never answer EVERYTHING. If we were actually able to trace every element of the universe back to a single atom, then where did that atom come from? Agnostic; not atheist :-)

Not everything that can't be explained by science(yet) should be attributed to an omnipotent being. Maybe some things are just too "astronomical" to be explained as of now; think about how long we've been here, humans, and how long life itself has been here in all forms...how could we possibly explain it with absolute certainty? What's science fiction today will be science fact tomorrow...
