@demisecphuket Oh yea because Singapore is on the top of the world. Your just mad because we can do what we want and there is nothing you can do about it. You live on the south end of the shit hole of Malaysia. Have fun living the life of a 3rd world ass hole bitch.
I hate when you click on a video thinking it's a video and it's actually a slide show. But this? This is the rare instance in which the video should've just been a picture.
All you guys should stop bitching at each other. We have all wrecked things, either in brilliant or not so brilliant ways. Can't we just agree on that and try to learn from each other? Maybe have some fun on the way?
I grew up near a boat ramp in Beaumont, Texas, and I still laugh at the stupid things that I saw people do. I just can't imagine how they did this unless they got crossed up, slid down the ramp, and floated the van across the trailer. All I can say is, at least people like this keep us amused and keep mechanics busy. Wow!
Take out the spark plugs, crank it a few minutes to clear water from on top of engine. Drain oil and remove filter. Replace new filter and oil, put in spark plugs and fire it up. Unless it was running when water crested the carb or entered the air intake, there wouldn't be any damage to the engine.
@Roushfan5 It's water getting into the air intake that's the problem. If the motor was running and sucked up water, it wouldn't compress and it would destroy the engine if it entered the heads. Pistons would try to come up and it would go BOOM and destroy things.
@junekentucky I know… however if thats FRESH water he might be OK. But it thats salt water maybe in the sort term that van will be OK, but I’m not sure how much longer it would be good for.
The other thing is (from what I recall it was a mid to late 90’s Ford Econoline) is I’m not sure just how many computers Ford was stuffing into there cars at that point in time but I sure wouldn’t want to get the engine bay of my early 2000s Nissan Altima that deep in water.
@nikolai5447 ... look in the mirror, what do you see... (I'd see a sad little man if I were you) you might be right, maybe this is what'll teach him a better way... yes, you are better... better at showing everyone what an ass you are for laughing at a guy that's having the worst day of his life... you're so predictable, and hateful and miserable too I bet... if you're not, and you're happy with the way that you are, well then that's just sad... maybe you'll find some peace in your lonliness
@nikolai5447 ... you are arrogant egotistical and condecending... now you're splitting hairs as to what an 'anchor point' is... the dude messed up regardless of the reason... he's trying to correct his mistake... he may be doing all he knows how to do... he might not have 'learned' early like you, or had anyone teach him the right way, or have any common sense for that matter, but he's trying... you are an ugly person, bashing a man that has just lost his van... you're not perfect either
@nikolai5447 Ok, let me rephrase that... It wouldn't be funny if it were your VEHICLE, and of course YOU wouldn't have done that... you're much better than everyone else... how stupid of me for being critical of your contempt for people suffering misfortune.
@nikolai5447 ... hahaha... I don't recall noting that there was any legit anchor point under the hood, nor did I say this was a good idea, there isn't and it's not... just like anyone that smokes... it's not a good idea, but how many millions of people do it?
you may know a few things, but communicating a thought isn't one of them
@tazztt1 The Moron is the person who underthinks this operation in the first place, thus getting into it. THEN Over thinks the wrong things in order to get OUTOF it.
ya know what cracks me up?Why is it people always lift the engine hood when they're clueless and broke down let along some jack ass who just turned the van in to a boat.At that point you can go ahead and close the hood buddy.Your van is officially fucked
@itsbadlands ... YOU idiot, are the clueless jackass... On the road, ifting the hood is signaling to other drivers that the vehicle is broken down. In THIS instance, they've raised the hood to access and anchor point for the winch cable.
@itsbadlands <<< mouth running w/o reading... I didn't say that there are any legit AP's under the hood... he DOES have the cable ANCHORED UNDER THE HOOD... bad idea or not... I personally WOULDN'T have done it nor would most people, but HE DID... 'nuff said
@tazztt1 Also,I hope your tires NEVER hit slime and you NEVER wind up in the water. I also hope you NEVER turn your van in to a boat.
So unless the video was of you, which would explain the hostility, pull your panties outta your ass and laugh a little.I'm sure the guy who's in the video laughs about it quite a bit.
@itsbadlands a lot of the time people lift the hood like that when winching so if the cable breaks it doesn't come back and break the windshield and hurt the person sitting up front . . . now im not sure if thats the case after all like you said they did just turn a van into a boat so they most likely don't have the required equipment to think that far in advance js
@itsbadlands lifting the hood is the universal sign for distress with cars ironicaly it was proably don so the tow trck could find then if it isnt like obviouse were they would be =3-
@itsbadlands I don't know the situation here, but in some states in the U.S. you are required to put your hood up as a signal that your vehicle is in distress and cannot be moved currently under its own power.
@itsbadlands The hood is up to protect the driver of the van in case the winch cable breaks. It is common practice for off road drivers who know what they are doing to do this when using a winch.
Not everyone is clueless when they are broken down, but ya i agree with you lol...
I know everything there is to know on my Jeep engine, if water got in it... well dont start it drain the oil,,, pull the plugs and crank it and hope to god it pushes all the water out
@itsbadlands If the tow line break you dont want it and whatever its tied to coming back through the windshield and hitting the driver, the hood should be up for safety.
This is the reason I always do a little fising around the ramp while im on the lake who knows what yahooos are going to get there self into at the ramp bahahahahahaha
