Humane , you may be a pessimist my friend. This video happens to list some very specific ways to improve the quality of your life. I saw very few, er, "general principles" as you put it. Just a thought

I'm generally a happy and positive person. But after seeing this I'm simply overloaded with "folksy wisdom bullshit". It's better to keep your mind critical and sharp in the world than debase yourself with general principles which may sound good but ultimately are too ideal and contain a hint of mindless droning. So yeah, this video is nice but not very inspiring which I thought would be the point to begin with.

I think like you. Initially I had the same reaction to the video. But quickly, I realized how powerful and true the messages really are. Example, Enjoy your job, and you'll never work again. And this is where you think, yeah that's easy to say but its not that easy. You can't just flip a switch and enjoy your job. That's nitpicking and taking the message out of context.

Make an effort to enjoy your job, and probably as a result your quality of life will improve. That's the message

@Abina34 just create your own poster with the most inspirational quotes you can find. I often suggest people to do a personal version for them-self which I call a "Reminder Sheet". Write quotes, reminders, motivation sentence, generic and specific things. Have fun and add your own touch: do it with your hand, put colors, write big, write small. You can refresh it regularly (e.g. each 3 months). It should not be long to read (1-5 mins) and read it every day, more than once if needed.

Find the balance, for being too positive borders on the DELUSIONAL.
