  • Love this song....

  • Love the song and video.....can't believe Larry was only 16 when he wrote this!

  • wtf happened to Firefalls song called LIVIN AINT LIVIN.......ALONE....???.....

  • What a great song !!!!

  • This is a real treat. Thanks for this fine performance by Firefall. Great song and very well done here.

  • That is a great video! Thank you very much for sharing that. My three piece band used to sing that back in the early 80's , and we had a great time playing it. Cinderella is one of the all time classics tunes of yesteryear!

  • what happend to mark andes

  • 30 years later and the song's STILL not stale!

The raw emotion is there and compensates for the poor recording.

The flute would have been nice in this acoustic only version.

I regret I've only seen them once about a dozen years ago. Wish I'd seen them in the 70's.

  • Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Firefall's "Silly Ole Love Song"?

I have it on cassette but would like to have for my MP3 player?

  • I have always loved this song!! It is truly amazing in all aspects!! I sure wish I could find a LP version on here. You can really feel the power behind the song and music!! You can hear all the richness and the glory in it!! Now, I love a live version if I am there to enjoy it otherwise I like to hear the LP version just to feel the real amazing quality behind it!! This song just kicks ass all the way!! I love it!! Phenomenal!! :))

  • Saw them open for Doobie Brothers in Minneapolis around 1977 (?). Nice show. Nice song.

  • please some one up load the original use this video if ya half to

  • Saw them back in Colorado; GREAT show, great band! Thanks...

  • Love it! Always have and always will

  • Saw them live with my boyfriend when they opened for America in May. Dare i say it -but they were almost better than America

  • saw them last Friday. Outstanding concert....... great guitar work, great vocals. I had forgotten how good they really were.

  • @rlfhlksvk Would have loved to been there. Where at ? Thanx friend

    INZ

  • @InitiateZ Arlington, tx. Said they were heading back to Bolder

  • saw them Friday night....... they were outstanding. great guitar work, great vocals.

    I was really impressed........

  • Hit #34 pop, #35 AC, in Billboard. Rick Roberts, c'mon back to the band full-time, otherwise, be free to tell me why you won't. God bless!

  • Nice, talented band. Saw them around 1977 in St. Paul as warm up band for Doobie Brothers. Some nice hits. This is a lousy recording, but the MP3s are around.

  • i happened to see these gents 2 years ago in a c springs joint. midweek. coolest crowd, great tunes.memories

  • Great song. Terrible recording. I'm sure they would be awesome to see. Maybe you can replace this video with just the LP recorderd version.

  • its so sad that the world is made up of mostly dumb sheeple or groups like this would be world foamous.

  • Great song, but the performance is a bit lame

  • come to Estes Park this Saturday night and you can see them live! All seats are great, cuz they are performing in a small lodge! Dinner, meet the band, CD and autographed pic included!

  • could someone put a good cd studio version of "livin ain"t livin on you tube" I sure would appreciate it. Also, a version of Paul Davis "I go crazy" by The Wilkinsons" Thanks!!!!!

  • I think this song is easy to sing... I love singing it..

I also think that these were the days when music was soo good.

  • tough song to sing

  • This song has the most orgasmic rythm of all of Firefalls' songs...did it for me and the love of my life...

  • Jock Rocks

  • Great tune. Firefall's best but not near as great as the studio recording...

  • @chapmanjoe1963 I'll keep checkin on here now and again til somebody gets the album original on here. Now that sounds good!

  • My hubby has all the albums,I would post the cover of the album if I knew how,,,

  • I wish someone would download the album version.....the harmonica sound on the album is so much richer.

  • that's cause he's got his hands wrapped around it and using hand movements to alter the sound

  • You did a great job recording this! Good going Alex!

  • I'll never get tired of this tune. It's made of harmony and win.

  • LOVE firefall. Soundtrack to my college days.

  • Favorite Firefall tune?......Love that got away.

  • Sweeet memories!!!

  • I always thought this was the best Firefall song, great recording from '77. Great arrangement and musicianship...nice to see they're still doing it.

  • My favorite Firefall song is Livin' ain't Livin'

  • I totally agree,

Livin aiint Livin is by far the best tune! I love the whole song, but the beginning just gives me chills every time I hear it. Mexico is a great tune also.

  • I always loved Firefall and I agreed that they were so under rated. Loved him!

  • Is that Larry Burnett singing?

  • No, it's Jock Bartely.

I cant believe how OLD they are now

  • "And I Said God Damn Girl" What a great line...no no no no noooo no no no. Kind of brings it home for a few of us. They be one of the most under-rated bands of of their era. Great to see them out and about.

  • T-A-L-E-N-T

  • Still a great song! One of my all time favourite. But... where's the flute?

  • My Local Radio Station played this song a lot, it was edited to say "Damn girl can't you see"

you really could hear that it was edited unless Fire Fall made a special radio cut.

  • I played this as a program director in a radio station. We had a promo release that didn't include the profanity. Back then, radio was a bit more uptight about that than they are now, altho u still hear edits nowadays...

  • holy crap, i love this song!

  • kicked butt in broomfield too!

  • Firefall is one of the greatest bands playing around Colorado. Takes us back to 1975 in Boulder. Great memories!!!!!

  • just saw them in firestone colorado free show they are still amazing what a treat

  • Outstanding music.

  • These guys play one of the best shows you can get out to see. They put their heart into it. Jock is just as good now as he was then!

  • 1977? damn chika ur old!!!!!!! teehee

  • I was at their show in 1977 at the Santa Monica Civic...I worked for a sound company in Hollywierd called Aphex Systems. Firefall was using our "Aural Enhancer" back then in their live shows. Great band and a great show.

  • 2 cool dude cause its ALWAYS been HollyWIERD 2 me-LOL-& RockON!

  • What a good song. Dont really sound that good here.

  • The original Firefall is one of my all time favorite groups. Love the original recording of Cinderella...I have it on an old cassette around the house here somewhere. "Just remember I love you" really sends me to another place too. Saw them perform in Pa. a couple years ago on a ticket with Poco and Pure Prairie League. They sounded good, but unfortunately the acoustics there weren't the greatest for an acoustic band. Poco was wired and the sound difference was vast. Alex, thanks for the post.

  • sounds beautiful. this song had a cult following when I was in high school in 1978, ya know, when teenagers were way cooler?!

  • can not listen to this...it is a shame that Larry Burnett is not singing here instead

  • Firefall Recoring Engineer Lee Hazen:

This past Saturday evening, 02/24/2008, Lee Hazen suffered a massive ischemic stroke at his home on Shoreside Drive in Hendersonville, TN. He has paralysis on his right side and is breathing with assistance. To date, Lee is yet to regain consciousness. At this point we don't really have a prognosis on his future recovery. All we can do is say a little prayer.

  • Too bad...

    May he get well soon.

    My best to his family.

  • ive seen them many times in concert and each and every time they blew me plum away - cath em if you ever get a chance

  • This song, I remember, was only played on the "uncut" FM radio stations, like the one I used to listen to from Moyock, NC WMYK K94 in the early 70's. Saw them this past summer of 07' in VA Beach. They were really good.

  • I remember K94, loved it long ago...

  • What about the version that the late Dan Folgelberg did of this song? I wonder if anyone has a copy of it as he always did it when he toured!

  • I saw Fogelberg do it. Mark Andes, who did the original vocals in this song with Firefall, was in Fogelberg's band at the time and he sang it.

  • Mark Andes is a stud what is he doing? I actually thought Larry Burnett wrote and sang this. Firefall is a great!

  • Larry did write this. I was living and playing in Boulder at the time (even auditioned for them but didn't quite make it, mores the pity) and our lead player Treavor was Larry's roommate. He even met the girl the song is about. The band did get back together for a performance in Boulder a year or two ago. There is a CD of it available.. Mike Clark (drummer) had already passed and Rick was there but unable to perform, though he spoke to the crowd. Sorry I missed it. Great group!

  • Sorry -- but a lame cariacature of the original band.

  • Great video. Thanks again for posting. Is "Headed for a Fall" posted anywhere?

  • No, this are the only 3 tracks I recorded that night.

  • Okay, thanks. Did they even attempt "Headed for a fall" that night?

  • Excellent tune, downloaded the original this morning, along with Dance With Me, Just Remember I Love You, Strange Way, and You Are The Woman. Was looking for Strange Way but have to rate Cinderella as their best work, hadn't heard it in years. D modal no less.

  • I love this song, hadnt heard it in years until about 2 weeks ago. i have tried to find the original [dont like live versions much] where did you find the original? Thankyou

  • My favorite is "livin aint livin" Love that song.

  • That's another great one. Probably my second favorite.

  • Firefall....great band. "Just remember I love you"," strange way", and" Cinderella".....wonderful music. I saw Firefall last year in York, Pa. They were on a bill with Poco and the Pure Prairie League....really enjoyed them...many of the bands from that time have originals mixed in with new people

  • Very nice! Thank you.

  • Love the original. I wonder what Rick Roberts is doing today. He was great.

  • I don't know how he is today,I hope he is doing ok. I saw Jock and company 15 yrs ago and talked to him backstage. Rick had hit really hard bottle bottom. Nobody could talk to him. Again I hope he is doing well.

  • Jock told not too long ago that they were inviting some original members to the recording of the new live DVD in Colorado, and Rick Roberts would be there...but it seems like he's not in good shape.

  • my fav will always be strange way.

  • and I said "God damm Girl"

  • Love Firefall, they never got the airplay they should have.

  • awesome song. Firefall had some great music that never got on the radio.

  • Totally.

  • The best song Firefall ever did.And there was a lot of them. Got to meet them once. Still have their autographs in my wallet.I should put it in a book with the rest , I guess.

  • I have to agree with you, this was a dynamite song, still is.
