  • absolutly right!

  • I love reading and listening to the Bible! It is God's LOVE LETTER to ME! I find listening to different translations is great to expand the meaning. YES- EXPECTANCY is a MUST: i.e.LISTEN to what the HOLY SPIRIT is saying to YOU, personally, and don't read it for giving "advise" to others, i.e. your Pastor, Husband, Friend, etc... Good stuff VICKY. Thank you for sharing! ~julia~

  • Brothers. Please stop arguing about what's best bible versions or translations. I believed would still use different versions to speak to every mankind. Brothers, the most of important is our walk with God through His Son Jesus. Arguing about diff. bible versions will lead to church divisions.

Dont' forget to share the message of Salvation through Jesus to all unsaved people. Don't share them the best bible version.

  • I agree. try different versions and different translations of the Bible. Personally, I enjoy The New Living Translation and some people rave about the Message Bible. It's a spicier more colorful modern translation.

Always remember though to take it back to the King James version. It's the most thorough and most comprehensive and reliable English translation ever. And boy does it have power.

The word of God is like a shield and staff. It guides warns and reveals God's purpose for man kind.

  • The KJV the most reliable translation???!!!???? You have got to be kidding; the KJV was based on very late Hebrew and Greek manuscripts - much earlier and more reliable manuscripts have been found since, and many of the newer translations are based on these more reliable translations. Perhaps the best English Bible for reference is the English Standard Version as it is a literal translation of these manuscipts.

  • No need to get over zealous over which translations you prefer. It's just a matter of preference and I believe that most people are more comfortable with the KJV because it's the standard by which most other translations are judged.

Nearly no one starts off with an ESV, NIV, NLT etc. Most people start off with the KJV. And a literal translation isn't always the most desirable. Sometimes when you transfer some things from one language a next "literally" it looses it's meaning.

  • Furthermore there are root words in the KJV, that can only be found in the KJV that you can cross reference in a concordance.

  • AMEN!

  • If anyone is struggling, I would recomend starting from the back of the bible (The book of Revelation)and work your way to the beggining (Gennesis)

The word of God is truly inspiring and life changing. It doesn't matter if you have read it before it's inspired by God which alows us to learn and grow anytime we read the word.

  • Wow... If you're tired of the Bible, read a jazzed up version or listen to a jazzed up version. Terrible.

  • i found this video because my co-workers christian daughter sang one of this ladys songs at a performance i went to....randphoenix, you are a tool... think outside of your box and voice your negative comments to your mom... actually, do her a favor and move out of her basement... negative people like you are depressing to us..

  • Yay! Nonsensical responses!
