i don think the movie set out to appeal to everyone, i dont think it set out to be the best movie ever made, it was an intresting account.. get it? dylan didnt set out to be anything... he didnt try and appeal to anyone and he his songs were just one man intresting account of the times and his thoughts
The movie's point was not "this is him" it was "I spose this is the story of him" if that makes any sense.
You will not know what he is like because people search for the truth about what anyone is like. Try to sum anyone up in a sentence. It's not possible.
Well, I've downloaded this movie a few days ago and I think it's one of the most shit movies as far as I can remember. 6 actors play Dylan which is quite irritating. Also the first 20 minutes, when some people tell their opinion about Folk music, should be kept away. I was hoping it was just a slow start but unfortunately I was wrong. Dylan's part played by a woman with some faggot voice didn't make me happy either.
well need you forget that in 65-66 he was extreamly flamboyant almost queer in nature---and his manorisims were almost feninine...and he did have a boyfriend that no one new about until later---he was realy bi-sexual ,cause he dated joan but he had his longtime companion john on the side--a college companion
nannyfagfrancis. Bob Dylan is a man mf. Hes not gay, I have gadar. He's got not one gay vibe, and never had. He loves women and they love him. Go wash your mouth out with soap. You wish he was gay.
I gotta agree with you. Being a huge Dylan fan, I found the movie quite offensive and monotenous! Cate Blanchette with clearly just a perm, sunglasses and stupid arsed voice! When did he speak like that?!?!?!
I loved her performance. Why does everybody bitch about it? It is not 'the life of bob dylan', it's inspired by it! 'Bob' is also played by an eleven-year old black kid. WEll, bob wasn't black was he? These are all just impressions of the man he was, and he is not exactly all of them. So.. shut up, watch the movie.

i'm skeptical of how this movie will turn out...
you know, as far as physical profile goes, i think tom cruise could have played an older dylan... if they used the right camera work to make him look scrawnier. seriously, compare their profiles from the side. they look alike.

I don't know about the Cate Blanchet thing...It's bold but...she's definitely not half as attractive as him, I hope it doesn't turn to something ridiculous
she actually put the best performance/interpretation in my opinion. Still, this is an incredibly artsy-fartsy film I love the man's music but I hate his fans and their love of smelling their own farts. Still, it's more watchable then masked and Anonymous. and the Beatles reference was hilarious.
wow way to call yourself an ass.. and I'm not calling you that but I'm a dylan fan I dunno know what you mean by "smelling his farts" it makes no sence
watch the "smug" episode of south park and you'll know what I mean. Like i said, i'm a fan, but i'm reffering to those type that Bob himself pissed off when he said he understood how Lee Harvey Oswald felt.
Cate Blanchett si the one I'm looking forward to the most lol...I have a lot more faither in her acting abilities, (and her physical resemblance) than some of the male actors...although this isn't exactly a typical bio pick so...hm...I suppose we'll see
yeah its for a new film based on bob dylan's life, using several characters to reflect his stories and different persona's. I don't know about Cate Blanchett though?! When's this coming out in the UK?
this movie sucked it

Youre right. Many asked me if Dylan was black. You know.. (michael Jackson)
But.
That little boy. His name is woody. And Woody was the biggest idol for dylan.

Heath Ledger was easily the worst Dylan in I'm Not There in my humble opinion.

marcus carl franklin or richard gere were bad i thought.

the movie wasn't about portraying bob dylan.
if it was about portraying they wouldn't have hired a black little kid to play him as a teenager.
it was the faces of bob dylan the personalities.
heath ledger's performance was the bloated egotistical fuck head version of bob dylan and he did a good job of it
FuctUpGlam13 3 years ago 7
Then you totally missed the point of the movie.

Definitely, one of the greatest protest artists ever!!!However,i would say that even my brother sings better than that!

hes voice makes the music!!
peacenow94 3 years ago 2
i don`t know your brother but in dylan songs its a lot about pronounciation.
Dylan is neither a great singer nor is he an extraordinary guitar player...
