  • Thank you for the upload!

    1925-version is still the best.

  • That was pathetic! So happy and gay! I really had my hopes up - I wish we saw more of the phantom,,,,, he was the only thing that made it interesting!

  • this version was really fake and gay ! the orginal and 2004 was wayyy better than this chizz

  • And we present to you....the 2 gay Raouls!

  • I hate that people can not just sit down and enjoy the movie, why you have always to criticize something of EACH VERSION!?

If you want to see something exactly similar to the book , keep with the book, don't spect the perfect similar version, or don't spect a Phantom that looks actually like the one from the book!

  • @JudgeMagisterDelita- Yes, I quite agree. It is a very good song. I need to find the sheet music for it. I would love to play it for myself.

It is a pity though, for they didn't really show the Phantom (Rains) until the last, like, 20 minutes of the movie. That is pretty much my only complaint.

  • ...And the two Raouls run off into the sunset together. The end. :)

  • 2:45 is a great piano song. I used to have it in my head all the time.

Even though this is very inaccurate to the book, I feel like this version had the best story to it. Claude Rains is also the best Phantom in my opinion.

  • That opera house must have been really poorly constructed if a single bullet brought it all down loll... pretty pathetic...

  • he was Harvey dent , two face the whole time??????? HOLY SHIT!!!

  • @LerouxsPhantom: I agree about the face. Personaly I think the best version is the play. yet i did like the flashback in the 2004 movie. It showed that even the Phantom was once a kid. But like they say: to each his own, and i'm no one to judge seeing as i've only watched the most recent versions. Still no matter what the version the story is still a timeless clasic.

  • I've been DYING to see this film! This was one of the Phantom films that I haven't seen until now. I'M SO HAPPY!!!!

  • WTF??- One Bullet brings Down the whole Opera??

What a Total Failure of an ending.....

  • Webber's Phantom was Amazing. The most Beautiful Chandelier I've ever seen. The climax of that movie was Brilliant! <3

  • When Christine suggested the three of them have supper, I thought it was going to end just like 'Chasing Amy'.

  • i hate when movies take forever to get somewhere, and then finish up in like, 30 seconds XD they just killed off Erik in a flash....

  • Huh, this was actually kinda cute (: Christine's hair is so pretty!

  • mmmm i didn't liked the ending, a little bit more of the phantom and christine would be necessaary.

  • abbott and costello

  • oh and i like anatole better then raoul

  • makes me want to cry.... poor erique.. poor poor erique...

  • The Phantom has skullcovered with dead, decaying flesh, a black hole for a nose, and two holes for eyes, which can only be seen in the dark as glowing red balls. He is TERRIFYING! He dug Christine's fingernails into his "facail-flesh" when she removed his mask!

Rhoul burns with a passionate anger toward the Phantom and a passionate love of Christine. He would rather kill the Phantom for Christine' safety and (afterwards) happiness- even if she decides NOT to marry hom (Rhoul). (<-FROM THE BOOK)

  • How nice that the rivals became friends. And I'd have liked Christine and Claudin to have interacted more... I don't think she knew it was he who spent all his money on her singing lessons...

  • I think this is one of the worst version of Phantom of the Opera I've ever seen. Loved the bits with Raoul and Anatole though.

  • @soouphie Have you seen Dario Argento's? I pretty sure that one is terrible; the phantom doesn't even have a mask!

  • @phantomphan4ever1 It's the one where the phantom is a rat-man right? I've seen it, but don't remember much of it. But yes it is slightly worse.

  • @soouphie Yeah.. I think that should not be even assosiated with anything about Phantom.. it is terrible. :(

  • @phantomphan4ever1 That's true! He doesn't have any of the features the Phantom should have, not even a mask. And honestly, I'm not very fond of people portraying the Phantom as a murderer..

  • @phantomphan4ever1 That's true! He doesn't have any of the features the Phantom should have, not even a mask. And honestly, I'm not very fond of people portraying the Phantom as a murderer..

  • @phantomphan4ever1 That's true! He doesn't have any of the features the Phantom should have, not even a mask. And honestly, I'm not very fond of people portraying the Phantom as a murderer..

  • @soouphie Same.. I <3 the Phantom! He's not just a horror murderer guy..

  • @phantomphan4ever1 Exactly! But, it's quite funny in the book Phantom (the Phantom's whole life story) after they've just been tortured in the chamber he realease them and then invite The Persian for tea. =)

  • Hmmm... I have seen better versions of The Phantom of the Opera...

  • If his left hand was screwed up so badly, how did he manage to play piano so well?

  • this was uploaded on my birthday :D

  • I have been a big fan of this movie since I was a kid even though it is alot different than the book, I enjoy it and Claude is one of my fav actors. But, does anyone know where a replica of his mask in this movie could be found?

  • I hate how Christine became like Carlotta ...

    Hrmmm

  • I can't decide which deformity was more pathetic. This one or the 2004 one...I'm leaning toward 2004.

  • @GrobanitePhan: Definitely 2004. At least this one looks like a deformity caused by a burn. The one in the 2004 movie looks like an allergic reaction, sunburn & a rash, not a birth defect.

  • @LerouxsPhantom I have to agree. I'm sorry to say, I couldn't help but laugh. The 2004 verison felt like a drama queen over his "scars", which I have to agree looked more like a rash or a sunburn. These old Phantom movies seem to be a lot more better than the recent one.

  • @LerouxsPhantom Haha but 2004 has beautiful music!

  • @Dasiepooh Maybe good orchestration, but the singing (save Patrick Wilson) was terrible.

  • @GrobanitePhan the 2004 deformity was more pathetic but it was a much better movie then this one.

  • @GrobanitePhan 2004, is the rubbish one, At least that looks like a facial disfigurment. 2004.....oh andrew why? you did so well with the disfigurment in the west end!

  • Wasnt there supposed to have been a sequel called The Climax ?

  • @WDI2008: Actually, there IS one! :) The PhantomReviewer talks about it in his review for this movie.

  • @LerouxsPhantom Actually it was reworked as followup and starred Borris Karloff rather a sequel due to the fact that bothNorman Karey and Claude Rains couldnt return due to contracts.

  • @LerouxsPhantom It was mean't to be a sequel but with so many problems it ended up just being a seperate story, not a sequel.

  • This is one of the versions that I less like of the phantom (just my humble opinion) Erik dont had that overhuman geniuos and amazing personality, in that way I like more the 1989 and 2004 version, that was erik!!!

  • ooh, thanks a million, very interesting adaptation!

  • The very ending was lighthearted, but the scenes in the catacombs, the chandelier falling, the music was all very, very nice. In fact, those catacombs looked spectacular -- if I have any complaint, it's that we didn't have enough scenes in them. Still, great movie. Kudos for the time and effort to upload it.

  • Do forgive me for saying this but, I felt i lacked greatly compared to other films, the explainations were unique but, i felt it didn't have the same soul as the others had.

  • I like this version because of the different relationship they have in this one. He is like her guide, very fatherish. The music was beautiful and was sad in the way that none of this should have happened at all. Nobody was stealing his music when he thought they were and he was so nice and friendly. A good version :)

  • @KelliLynn1000 Love this version too.. The funny thing is though. The reason Erik is so fatherish is because in the original script for the movies he was supposed to be the father! But the writers ended up realising it felt too much incest'ish..

But it's easy to tell it's how they originally wanted it to be.

  • That really sucks.. D: the Phantom and Christine didn't even get to interact much.. and I feel like that ending really shows that Christine really did care about Claudin, since she just left for her career instead of having love. She's taking the path the Phantom wanted her to! HOW SWEET.

  • Thanks for uploading this film, I've been wanting to see it for a long time.

  • @ThomasAnime: My pleasure!

  • I loved it. Thank for uoloading it.

  • @JohannaPalacio001: No problem! :D

  • poor phantom :(

  • An absolute perfect film! Thank You once again for posting this,LerouxsPhantom! I loved the ending!

  • @phantomnvamps: You're welcome! =)
