  • Absolutely unbelievable footage!!!! It's so overwhelming to see how many people have volunteered and have kept on doing it no matter how much their arms or how tired they were. Thank you for sharing this! I've never been so proud to say that I live in Fargo-this is best place to be!

  • What? No looting? No claims of cannibalism? No "Bush caused it? I guess we aren't in New Orleans anymore Toto.

  • To compare this to New Orleans shows your ignorance.

I was in the 97 flood fight in F/M & I was in NOL after Katrina. NOL is an urban island - below sea level, surrounded by water. Fargo/Moorhead is a regional center for heavy equipment and contractors, where most of the population is from a farm/background & deal with snow at very young age. Plus, unlimited sand near by.

In 97 was Grand Forks at fault for the flood?

F/M was blessed with great leadership, skilled people & tons of resources

  • There were thefts & an arsonist (white male) in Fargo. Also have you ever sandbagged? Try 99 degrees & 99% humidity. My guess is that you are not from F/M & were not working with the many people of every race/gender/orientation who volunteered to help.

On KFGO the few small minded people who called to compare this to Katrina and point fingers were quickly corrected. A RIVER IS NOT AN OCEAN!

We did the same great work in 1997 but got very little attention because of Grand Forks levy breaking.

  • It is truly amazing how a community can come together during a crisis!
