What are you talking about "it's for sure not a 912-C"? The fact is, there isn't another standard taylor guitar it could be! I don't know what kinda crack you, or the dude who uploaded this video was smoking because NO 8xx series had an abalone border or the Cindy inlay at the time this video was uploaded. Granted it could be a special order, but there wouldn't be a point in ordering a 8xx with 9xx appointments.
One of the best presentations of a guitarist's performance I've see on youtube so far. This clip could win a "youtubee" award for best production quality. A clean and concise fingerstyle performance on a superb sounding acoustic guitar. I give it 5 stars.
very good thanks. ive a taylor 210 im trying to learn fingerstyle this makes me want to practise more,i find i need a lot of encouragement, and this quality of play helps.
wow im really really impressed, i love the Ray Coniff Version of What Child is this (dl it if u havent heard it), and since i heard it, ive been looking for a guitar video of this song, 5 stars for u, and a merry chrismas/happy new year
Beautiful arrangement. Nice use of open strings, the acoustic's best friend. I'll bet you have a killer arrangement of Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. I would love to hear it if it's not already on Youtube somewhere.
gesparks: Thank you for the very nice words! Yes, I am working on "Jesu." May have it ready before Christmas. And yes, I love open strings...less chance to hit a clunker.
Actually, no, you weren't "right" when you wrote "it has nothing to do with Christmas." Obviously, it has for over 140 years. More importantly, it's a shame you ignore it because of its derivative nature, as many traditional songs, carols and otherwise, are derived from other tunes. By your definition, The Star Spangled Banner was "stolen" from an old English drinking song, My Country 'Tis of Thee from God Save the Queen and endless other examples.
So basically I said what is right the original song was not a christmas song, thats why I dont' associate it with christmas it's jsut stealing someones melody with new lyrics. But since so many people associate it with christmas now I can't play it or listen to it now, --sigh--. Oh well.
While "Greensleeves" was originally penned by King Henry VIII in the 1500's as a song of unrequited love, it also became a Christmas carol when William Chatterton Dix wrote new lyrics ("What Child is This?") to to the melody of "Greensleeves" in 1865.
Thank you fngrpckr, swampghost, wallacelipschitz, rallegai (geil can mean "horny in German, so I guess I'm flattered, or properly put down...it's all good)boogeyman36 and Spasmodeus (yes, I love Jimmy Page, especially acoustic Page.)
I am constantly amazed at the level of professionalism of most of the videos (and musicianship) on YouTube. This is a wonderful community. Thank you all again!
Huge sound from the Taylor and superb technique. Perfect harmonic accompaniment to the most haunting meoldy ever. Now pardon me whilst I go practice for 8 hours straight. Thanks for the inspiration.
Very beautiful. This is probably my favorite version of the song that I've heard yet. Your clear tone surpasses Jeff Beck's version. Keep up the amazing work, even if you don't perform anymore. Guitar is a great hobby.
just super, thats what im looking for to inspire me,great job!the sound on that is great,i never had a acoustic sound that good,pm me if you have a tape 4 sale!!!!awesome dkdex1
